Complaints aside, Teng Xiao maintained his decorum: "It's good that the misunderstanding has been resolved. Jingliu was so worried she was seconds away from rushing into the battle."
"General!" Jingliu glared at Teng Xiao, slightly embarrassed and annoyed. She then looked at the real Acheron. "This Miss Acheron... having traveled so far, why not rest on the Luofu for a few days as well?"
Acheron, however, shook her head: "If I stay too long, I will invariably cause trouble for you. Besides, I've already agreed with her that she will leave in a couple of days."
"Why?" Jingliu looked at her savior. She seemed to want to know if she was being coerced by the other Acheron.
'Acheron' smiled, raised her hand, and patted Jingliu's shoulder, briefly explaining her reasons. That was all. Although she didn't really want to follow Acheron just to get beaten up, to quickly accumulate enough for the next draw, she had to endure this hardship.
"…" Jingliu was silent upon hearing this. The reason was indeed unassailable. What more could she say?
And Acheron, having received a positive answer, nodded in satisfaction. Only then did she turn to Teng Xiao and say: "In that case, I shall stay on the Luofu for a short day and depart with her tomorrow."
"That... is fine."
Teng Xiao looked at 'Acheron,' confirming that she wasn't being coerced or forced, and said nothing more.
Teng Xiao then stepped aside, making a gesture of invitation.
He and Acheron walked ahead.
However, Jingliu stuck closely to 'Acheron's' side,
after hesitating for a while, she suddenly whispered:
"Then, that… who, exactly, are you? I don't want to be left without knowing my benefactor's true name."
Jingliu was anxious upon hearing that 'Acheron' was leaving.
She had planned to slowly inquire about her benefactor's true identity.
But who knew the other person would be leaving tomorrow?
If she left now without knowing her real name, they might never meet again.
So, in her desperation, the question in Jingliu's heart spilled out.
Teng Xiao and Acheron, walking ahead,
both pretended not to hear.
They immediately ascended and flew toward the Luofu, leaving the two behind.
'Acheron' smiled helplessly at the sight, then put an arm around Jingliu's waist and ascended as well.
Looking down at Jingliu, who was clinging tightly to her in the air,
'Acheron' thought for a moment and whispered:
"You can call me Baiming. The 'Bai' from white, and the 'Ming' from calling out. As for my appearance, I apologize, but I can't let you see it yet."
"Mmh!"
Jingliu affirmed strongly.
To receive a name was already enough for Jingliu.
It was impossible for the Luofu to suddenly change Acheron's name.
The matter of the real and fake Acheron would also be impossible for the Xianzhou Alliance to publicly disclose.
It would likely be difficult to even record it in historical texts.
So Jingliu needed to know her true name.
At least she would know who the true benefactor who saved the Luofu was.
...
Returning to the Luofu.
Teng Xiao looked at the two Acherons, identical in appearance, demeanor, and even combat prowess.
Even the well-traveled Teng Xiao couldn't help but be astonished.
If they were naturally born this way, it was too unbelievable.
But if it was imitation, appearance and demeanor could be imitated, but where did this martial prowess and strength come from?
Even the Eidolons of the Garden of Recollection couldn't achieve such vivid mimicry.
But astonishment aside,
Teng Xiao did not pry into their secrets.
After simply stating that no one would bother them,
he left with Jingliu.
Acheron looked around the room.
She noticed that apart from the yard's grass being messed up,
there were no signs of indulgence or pleasure.
So, what exactly was this person aiming for?
Acheron still didn't understand.
But that didn't stop her from immediately cornering her other self.
"Perfect. I think I generally understand that white-haired girl's sword style. I'll feed you moves, let's continue perfecting your blade technique."
"White-haired girl…"
'Acheron's eyes twitched slightly.
The 'girl' she spoke of was already several hundred years old.
And she was still calling her a girl.
Just how old was the real Acheron…?
Clang—!
The scabbard, without warning, hit 'Acheron's butt again.
"I have a feeling you were thinking something highly disrespectful."
"You just wanted an excuse to hit me!"
'Acheron' immediately whipped her long blade, striking back.
Inside the Luofu,
neither used excessive power.
They maintained a normal level, only clashing with blade techniques.
Teng Xiao and Jingliu, who hadn't gone far,
heard the sound of scabbards clashing in the courtyard again.
For a moment, they didn't know how to react.
Jingliu, in fact, immediately turned and walked toward the practice field.
She looked as though she intended to practice herself to death.
As for Teng Xiao,
he naturally sighed and returned to his work.
...
The next day.
There were not many people who came to see them off.
Two Acherons was simply too strange.
So the Xianzhou decided to keep the news hidden.
'Acheron' waved goodbye to Jingliu, Baiheng, and the others.
Yingxing, however, approached with a large box.
"This is a small token of our appreciation. We hope you like it."
'Acheron' opened the box to look.
Inside lay a long blade somewhat similar to 'Samsara,' and a tiger tally.
Teng Xiao saw her gaze fall on the tiger tally and smiled, saying:
"The Luofu has no way to repay this kindness, but we offer this token as a promise. Should you ever have need of it in the future, with this token, all Cloud Knights of the Luofu will heed your command."
'Acheron' smiled and accepted the tiger tally:
"I will keep it safe."
However, she felt there would likely never be a time when this tiger tally would be needed.
As for the blade,
its style was more inclined toward Xianzhou patterns, finely crafted.
She reached out and grasped the hilt, feeling it.
It felt good and was sturdy enough. Although not comparable to 'Samsara,' it was still a fine blade.
'Acheron' smiled. She placed the long blade, along with the box, into the silver ring:
"Thank you. I like it very much. Well then, until we meet again."
After a final look at Teng Xiao and the others who came to see them off,
'Acheron' winked at Jingliu, then turned and left the Xianzhou Luofu with Acheron.
...
Walking side-by-side in the void,
'Acheron' asked curiously:
"Where are you taking me?"
"Do you remember what I said? The power of Nihility should not be easily contacted, regardless of the reason."
Acheron's voice was conveyed through special means to her ear.
But this made 'Acheron' raise an eyebrow.
"…I remember, yes. So?"
"I will take you to witness for yourself why I said those words."
Saying this, Acheron glanced at the person beside her.
"If I just tell you verbally, I think it will be hard for you to grasp the depth of it. So, I will let your own eyes see."
Acheron reached out her hand and grasped 'Acheron's palm.
"Witness? How will I witness it?"
'Acheron' felt a strange sense of panic.
Where was the real Acheron planning to take her??
