The lawyer flipped through Ian Grant's information and finally concluded, "He's employed at the orchestra, probably worried about the negative impact affecting himself, and unwilling to come forward."
"But I lean towards Ian Grant also having gained some benefit," suggested Shea Thorne. She speculated that Ian Grant wasn't one for high morals, and if he really shielded Vivian Lowell after she harmed Noelle Snow, then Ian might actually be a jerk.
It's not about clarifying things with the police now; with the public, many details will be magnified. He's afraid of impacting his image at the orchestra, fearing being labeled as a "jerk" or "cheater" which wouldn't be easy to clear.

She thought of Noelle Snow and also explained to the lawyer that Noelle said she wouldn't help her.
