Alice Lawson never imagined that the music concert she meticulously prepared would end in such indifference this year.
The National Conservatory of Music holds a concert every year, inviting high-profile figures and dignitaries as guests.
Yet today, many of the people originally on the guest list didn't show up, the first three rows were almost empty, and even the dean of their conservatory didn't come.
Prideful her entire life, Alice Lawson wasn't about to let such a dismissive scene happen to her, so she picked up her phone to call the department head to figure out what was going on today.
"Hello, Head, today's the concert day, have you set off yet?" Alice Lawson asked, suppressing her discontent. The concert was scheduled to start at eight o'clock, and it was already half past seven. She'd only seen a few professors who were close to her; why hadn't anyone else appeared?
