"Why don't I go in and talk to her?" Milo Sinclair suggested as they parked on the opposite side of the street. He looked at the document folder in Shea Thorne's hand. Perhaps it would be better if he handled this matter personally.
However, Shea Thorne shook her head. She applied lipstick while checking herself in the rearview mirror, making sure she looked perfect. She put on sunglasses to bolster her aura, picked up her bag and the document folder, then opened the car door and headed toward the cake shop.
As she pushed the door open, the ethnic-style wind chime on the glass door jingled. Though the cake shop wasn't large, its cozy decor and the aroma of melting butter in the air were inviting.
There was a girl behind the counter making coffee with her back to the entrance. Hearing the wind chime, she turned around with a smile and said, "Welcome! How can I help you?"
