Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Demon Stepmother 2

"You wretch, sooner or later I'll get you out of here!" The servant cursed viciously at her back.

Before she finished cursing, a cold voice sounded from above, "Take this month's salary, you don't need to come back tomorrow."

"Sir!"

"Leave first thing in the morning."

"Sir, it's that woman who's been mistreating the young master, not giving him food..."

"She is the mistress of this house, Mrs. Saint."

"Sir, don't be fooled by her, she's abusing the young master..." That woman actually married the master?

Evan Saint sneered, "You're very concerned about Sean?"

"Of course, I've been taking care of the young master since he was little..."

Evan Saint laughed even more coldly, "So you fed him until he got chubby?"

"I..."

"Your kindness to Sean isn't because you like him, it's to make yourself seem indispensable so we can't fire you."

The servant was shocked, "Sir, I didn't..."

"Mrs. Saint doesn't like you, so naturally, there's no place for you in this house." After saying that, Evan Saint walked away indifferently, not bothering to argue further.

When he reached the kitchen, he saw the little woman who claimed she'd never learn to cook looking worriedly at a pile of pots and pans.

He leaned against the door frame with interest, watching.

"Why are there so many things? How do you use them?" Sparkle mumbled, touching this and looking at that.

Finally, she randomly selected a smaller pot and started making porridge.

Initially planning to make plain porridge, she hesitated, took out an egg, hesitated again, and cut a piece of ham.

Watching all her actions, Evan Saint couldn't help but curl his lips into a smile.

"Weird, how do you light this stove?"

Evan Saint kindly reminded her, "Press down first, then turn to the left."

"Thanks." Without realizing anything was wrong, Sparkle continued fiddling.

About half an hour later, she finally concocted a pot of something unrecognizable, and by then, the kitchen looked like it had been ransacked, in complete disarray.

Ignoring the disastrous state of the kitchen, Sparkle was very satisfied with her creation, "Kid, you're lucky, you're the first one to taste my cooking."

"Sean won't enjoy being the first," Evan Saint said as he walked over, picking up a spoon to taste.

Sparkle looked at him in surprise, "Why are you here?"

Evan Saint didn't answer, he just tasted the porridge.

"Isn't it delicious?" Sparkle asked confidently.

Evan Saint's expression was complex, "Did you mistake sugar for salt?"

"It's good enough that there's something to eat," Sparkle said, carrying the porridge to Sean's door, "Kid, open up."

"What do you want?" Sean looked at her impatiently, his hunger putting him in a foul mood.

"Eat."

"I don't need your pity."

"If you won't eat, I'll take it away," Sparkle decisively turned around.

Sean panicked, "Wait, leave it here."

Little rascal, trying to outsmart her!

Sparkle turned back smugly, placing the porridge on the table, "Eat up."

Unable to resist, Sean grabbed a spoon and took a bite, the strange taste nearly making him spit it out, "What is this? It's awful, I won't eat it."

"Don't you dare!" Sparkle warned, glaring at him, "Either eat it all or go hungry, your call."

"Wicked woman, I'll definitely get you out of here!"

"You'll have to wait until you actually do it, now eat!"

Sean ground his teeth in anger, yet still ate the bowl of strangely flavored porridge with tears in his eyes.
