Chapter 44 - chapter 44

"Darling, look at her!"

Jennifer was half-dead with anger, pointing at Emma who had scurried upstairs.

John had just opened his computer and saw Jennifer coming to complain again, and couldn't help but laugh, "Why are you bickering with a child? What's the point even if you make her understand that I'm your girlfriend?"

Jennifer paused, it seemed he was right!

Why should she bother with that brat? Wasn't it more comfortable to lie in her baby's arms?

After figuring it out,

Jennifer stopped chasing, took off her shoes, revealing her fair and round feet, and with a carefree sprawl, she threw herself into John's arms, wiggling her body to burrow in.

John originally had both hands on the keyboard, and Jennifer poked her head out from the small space under his arm, slowly burrowing in, then sat on his lap, facing him directly.

John felt the soft pressure from Jennifer's front and knew she was craving, but who was he?

"Just a moment, let me look at this."

"Alright, hurry up, baby~"

Jennifer lazily lay on John, her head resting on his shoulder, ignoring Emma's calls from upstairs, only replying when the mood struck her.

This infuriated Emma; she hadn't expected this woman to become smarter.

And to brazenly occupy her position.

That's right, in Emma's eyes, that was her position. As for what you said about the other person being the official girlfriend?

Please, it's just that she hasn't grown up yet, otherwise, where would this woman's place be?

Are you saying Emma is wrong?

Emma's personality was antisocial; how could she possibly think she was wrong?

And so, a dramatic scene unfolded.

John was on the sofa in the living room downstairs, holding his big girlfriend Jennifer, looking at posts on a horror website, while Emma was wildly provoking from upstairs.

Jennifer ignored her, simply taking a deep breath from John right in front of Emma.

From her infatuated expression, it was clear this was an epic lung hit.

This caused more critical damage than cursing Emma a hundred times.

...

John aimlessly browsed through the posts.

Suddenly, he saw a post from a housewife, which was very strange. Why would a housewife browse a horror website?

With curiosity, he took a look.

It was roughly about a woman who, feeling a lack of presence, married a man she didn't love simply because he said he liked and needed her.

Her married life had always been happy and peaceful.

Until one day.

Her husband went to the hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed with oligospermia, which caused him to start throwing tantrums and rummaging through things when he returned home. He accidentally discovered his wife's diary.

It recorded his wife's secret crush on another stranger.

Then began endless domestic violence against his wife and son...

Up to this point, everything was normal, just family issues.

John was about to scroll away when he suddenly caught sight of the poster's name, Kayako, and his heart skipped a beat.

Isn't this the Ju-On from next door?

Wait, there seemed to be an American version of Ju-On too.

He couldn't distinguish, but both were possible.

Because this website recorded most of the supernatural and horror events encountered by people all over the world, without national boundaries.

It's just that this level of evil spirit was truly terrifying.

He even wondered if Kayako, with her heaven-defying power, would crawl out of the internet cable.

No, no, no, perhaps John was overthinking.

Is there a possibility it's just a namesake... What possibility? With this experience, it's 100% her!

He just didn't know which stage she was in.

Looking at the comments under the post again, a bunch of dark-skinned people were still making dirty jokes.

He was scared, so scared.

John immediately exited the post, even deleting his browsing history. Now, the most important thing was to look at a few posts about Deformed Men killing people to calm his nerves.

Compared to Kayako, what were Deformed Men and serial killers? They were simply sweet, soft little cakes.

He continued browsing.

After roughly looking at a dozen posts, John finally stopped at another one.

This time, the poster was a young woman, and from her avatar, she had blonde hair, not particularly beautiful but pleasant to look at.

She called herself Rebecca, recounting her experiences after leaving home for many years.

These were all unnecessary details, so John skipped directly to the latter part.

Rebecca said the reason she left home for many years was because of a terrifying nightmare.

Years later, upon returning home, she still couldn't escape the lingering childhood shadow. This terrifying nightmare only appeared when she turned the lights on and off.

She hadn't wanted to bring it up again, but the reason she was posting now was that her brother, Martin, was experiencing the same thing.

She hoped to get help.

John looked at the post thoughtfully, wasn't this Lights Out?

It was quite famous back then; he remembered there were many ghost pictures from Lights Out in a certain space, and every time they were posted, they would be cursed by group members.

This evil spirit initially seemed to only appear when the lights were off.

John thought he could try, so he claimed to be an exorcist in the comments below.

Why 'claimed'? Mainly because there were too many scammers on this website.

He could get verified, but after verification, his private messages would probably explode, and if he didn't help, a bunch of people would jump out to accuse him and morally blackmail him.

Rather than that, it was better not to get verified.

John was no different from ordinary scammers; he directly left a message under the post.

"I am a church exorcist; I can help you."

This post had relatively few comments, mainly because there were no photos, no videos, and a bunch of trivial matters mixed in. It was already good that anyone even looked at it, let alone commented.

Ten minutes later.

John's backend showed a new red dot.

It was a private message from Rebecca.

"Are you really an exorcist?"

John inexplicably smiled when he saw this question. This question was like asking a scammer, 'Are you a scammer?'

He replied: "I am."

Rebecca: "Can you help my brother? What do you need for your help?"

She didn't seem too foolish; at least she knew there would be a price.

As for what price, John lacked neither women nor money, so he replied like this:

"This evil spirit is the reward. If you want to use something else to replace the evil spirit, that's fine too."

Rebecca on the other end of the chat box was astonished.

She had just posted asking for help online with a casual attitude, never expecting someone to actually reply to her.

She had thought it might require a lot of money or other things, but she never expected it to be an evil spirit. Just seeing that sentence, she could already imagine that the person on the other side must be a powerful exorcist.

She quickly typed her response.

"Sir, if you wish to take the evil spirit, I have no objections. She seems to be getting closer to us. Could you please provide your contact information?"

"Yes."

After John entered his contact information, he confirmed the other party's location and found that they were only a state apart.

He planned to leave tomorrow; it was already a bit late today.

John informed the two still-bickering women of this news.

Jennifer didn't want John to leave, but she also didn't want to go with him; evil spirits were too terrifying for her, an American girl.

Emma, however, was eager to go, but John certainly couldn't take her.

This was a solo mission.

Jennifer, seeing that John was already done, wondered if it was time for intimacy?
