Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: No Regrets

After quite a while, Old Mrs. Mo finally reacted, but thinking about being scared by her little granddaughter left her somewhat embarrassed and angry, "Mo Yiyi, how are you talking to me? Is there anything wrong with what I said?"

Mo Yiyi looked at Old Mrs. Mo coldly and said, "Grandma, of course what you said is wrong. Why should my sister raise someone else's son? Especially when it comes to a man like Jiang Huirong, what's worth my sister holding onto? A man like him would only match that shameless widow. My sister will find a better man in the future."

"Mo Yiyi, what do you know, little girl? A divorced woman, what kind of man would want her? None of you should interfere in this matter, and if you say one more word, see if I won't beat you to death."

Old Mrs. Mo felt a surge of anger; today, nothing seemed to go smoothly.

"Grandma... I'm definitely going to handle this matter. I advise you not to interfere, lest people say our Mo family is spineless, and we just watch the Jiang Family member ruin my sister without doing anything. We'd be embarrassed to face anyone in the village." Mo Yiyi raised her voice directly, her sharp gaze fixed on Old Mrs. Mo.

"What the hell do you know? If Xiaohong really gets divorced, that's when our family will be looked down upon, so..."

Old Mrs. Mo trailed off, suddenly unable to continue, unsure of how this stubborn girl, Mo Yiyi, seemed so intimidating.

Seeing Old Mrs. Mo fall silent, Mo Yiyi then stopped looking at her, and instead, looked directly at Jiang Huirong and said, "Tomorrow, bring Shanshan over, and my sister will go with you to get a divorce. Remember, bring her over in the morning so you can handle the paperwork early."

Hearing Mo Yiyi's words and seeing Old Mrs. Mo and others not opposing her, Jiang Huirong looked at Mo Yiyi with some confusion.

He also felt the little girl was acting strangely today.

Nevertheless, as long as he could divorce Mo Xiaohong, he'd accomplish his goal today, so he didn't say much, just nodded and said, "Alright, I'll bring Shanshan over tomorrow."

Previously, when Mo Xiaohong returned to her maiden home, his mother didn't allow Mo Xiaohong to bring Shanshan along, so Shanshan was still at their Jiang family. Thankfully, his daughter was left with her mother, otherwise, this divorce with Mo Xiaohong would be a hassle.

After Jiang Hairong left, Old Mrs. Mo regained her composure and furiously glared at Mo Yiyi, saying, "You audacious little girl, how dare you talk back to me, making decisions recklessly. Wait until your father comes back, and I'll have him give you a good beating. I guess you think you can turn the world upside down."

Mo Yiyi didn't even bother to acknowledge her and directly pulled Ding Yuejun and Mo Xiaohong back to their own room.

Once in the room, Mo Yiyi noticed Mo Xiaohong still seemed distracted and asked with a frown, "Sister, don't you want to divorce that Jiang Huirong? Do you actually think Grandma is right and want to raise that shameless widow's son and continue living with Jiang Huirong?"

If Mo Xiaohong dared to answer yes, Mo Yiyi would indeed be thoroughly disappointed.

If she compromised even in thought, how could Mo Yiyi hope for her sister to be independent?

Seeing Mo Yiyi's disappointed expression, Mo Xiaohong quickly waved her hand, saying, "I... I don't regret it. I don't want to raise others' children. I..."

Her voice lowered towards the end.

"I just feel a bit lost. Once I really get divorced, what should I do? Grandma definitely wouldn't want to see me stay at home, and Shanshan would surely become a nuisance for Grandma."

Since childhood, Grandma didn't like her, and her father didn't like her either, thinking that since she was a daughter meant to be married off, she'd belong to someone else's family. So she had a tough childhood, and she didn't want her daughter to go through the same.

Hearing Mo Xiaohong's words, Mo Yiyi couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

As long as her sister didn't regret it, that was good.

"Sister, you don't need to worry about these things. Even if Grandma doesn't want you staying at home, it doesn't matter. Can you not even live in your own home? Besides, we don't necessarily have to stay in this house."

No one in this house genuinely cares about them.

Old Mrs. Mo has always been selfish and favors boys over girls. She's always ignored their mother and them sisters, making them do heavy chores every day, and as for their father, Mo Guowei, he's even more of an irresponsible father.

He actually thinks that since she and her sister are daughters meant to be married off, he doesn't care much about them. He places all his hopes on his nephew, Mo Ke Fei, hoping that the nephew will look after him in old age.

Thinking about her father's thoughts, Mo Yiyi couldn't help but show full disdain.

With someone like Mo Ke Fei, Mo Guowei is dreaming if he thinks that Mo Ke Fei will take care of him when he's old.

Mo Ke Fei, though young, is very shrewd, always exploiting advantages from their family, and privately looks down on her and her sister, even mocking Mo Guowei's attentiveness.

However, Mo Yiyi didn't plan to remind her father, since he doesn't value them two daughters, they won't value him as a father.

Right then, Ding Yuejun saw her daughter's somber expression and gently patted her shoulder, saying, "Yiyi, don't think too much about other things now. What's most important is the injury on your head. Mama will take you to the hospital."

Hearing her mother's words brought Mo Yiyi back to her senses, she smiled and shook her head, "Mom, I'm really fine, though I'm actually feeling a bit tired. I want to lie down and rest, you and sister should rest too."

Seeing her daughter's exhausted look, Ding Yuejun opened her mouth, intending to persuade further, but ultimately refrained and nodded, "Alright, then rest. If you feel uncomfortable, tell me immediately, and I'll take you to the hospital."

Mo Yiyi nodded with a full smile.

Yet Ding Yuejun didn't leave right away and instead brought a basin of warm water, gently and quietly cleaning the bloodstains from Mo Yiyi's face. When she saw the deep wound on her daughter's forehead, she couldn't help but worry, "Yiyi, I think we really should go to the hospital."

Mo Xiaohong also finally saw the injury on Mo Yiyi's head and felt more hatred towards Jiang Huirong, agreeing with Ding Yuejun's words.

"Yes, Yiyi, let's hurry to the hospital for bandages, otherwise what if it gets infected."

"Mom, Sister, I really am fine. I hit my head hard when I was a child, but didn't I get better on my own afterward, so you both hurry and rest." When she was a child, she indeed hit her head hard, and it was Mo Ke Fei who pushed her then.

Seeing Mo Yiyi persist, Ding Yuejun felt helpless and sighed; her daughter could be so stubborn sometimes that she couldn't do anything about it.

After her mother and sister left, Yiyi sat up immediately, examined her injury, frowned slightly, and ultimately didn't lie down to rest but instead quietly left the room.
