Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Awakening 1

I had just finished my morning exercise routine and stepped out of the my shower pod, cold mist still rolling off my skin like drifting silver smoke....

When a sharp knock echoed through my chamber door.

"Enter."

The door slid open with a soft hydraulic hiss, and a figure stepped inside—not at all resembling a traditional maid.

Instead, an ethereal beauty stood before me.

Shoulder-length vibrant red hair, sharp emerald eyes gleaming with a complex mixture of emotions—fear, disdain, and oddly, a faint warmth. Her posture was perfectly straight, more like a trained soldier than a servant.

She wore the standard Godsbane service uniform—a sleek black bodysuit interlaced with faint glowing circuitry patterns, a short white coat over it marked with golden ravens. It fit her athletic figure more like battle attire than maid wear.

This was — " Emily Linkheart "

My personal maid.

She bowed slightly—neither respectful nor rude, simply neutral.

"Young Master," she said, voice calm and steady. "Elder Neil has requested your presence to begin the Awakening Ceremony."

"Hmm. Understood. I'll be there shortly."

I kept my tone even—authoritative, but cold.

Emily turned to leave, but then paused at the doorway. Over her shoulder, she offered a small smile—one that didn't reach her eyes.

"Also… happy 10th birthday, Young Master. And good luck with your Awakening."

The door closed behind her with a soft click.

I let out a slow breath.

"Haah… this girl."

She was only a year older than me, already awakened. And yet—even after three years of serving me—I could feel the fear and disdain in her gaze. It was not personal hatred but something more complicated. Also their was a flicker of pity? Maybe sympathy?

"Every servant ignores me, so that's nothing new… but fear? Disdain? Why?"

I muttered under my breath.

It's not like I ever did anything to her.

Hell, I've never even stepped outside this cursed estate since I was born.

But then again—

I know her secret.

"A reincarnated maid…"

The words slipped from my lips, followed by a dry laugh.

Can you imagine how rare it is to meet a reincarnator in this world?

Sure, this world is a fantasy forged on the ashes of gods from countless dimensions—but even then, reincarnators are almost nonexistent.

The last known reincarnator in recorded history?

"The King of Frostborn."

And now there's her.

How do I know?

Well—that's a story for another time.

Right now, I have an Awakening to attend.

~The Awakening Chamber ~

15 minutes later...

I entered the Awakening Facility, a massive hall of black alloy walls traced with glowing energy patterns. Mana-machines hovered around the room like silent sentinels, their lights pulsing rhythmically. The air hummed with mechanical vibrations and the smell of sterile metal.

In the center stood a cylindrical awakening pod, shaped like a futuristic cryo-sleep capsule. It was filled with thick crimson liquid, almost like glowing blood-red jelly.

It was not normal liquid.

Nor a medicinal fluid.

Just plain liquefied mana.... "Aether"

Dozens of holographic screens floated above the pod, displaying arcane code and mana flow graphs. Machines beeped in precise intervals, monitoring every aspect of the spell-technology fusion.

Beside the pod stood a tall, lean man with white hair tied back neatly, appearing around forty. He wore thin metal-rimmed lenses, and a white coat draped over his shoulders—covered in glowing sapphire runes that pulsed like a heartbeat.

A High-Grade Runemaster. Elder Neil.

He glanced up and spoke with formal detachment.

"Young Master Raven. Step inside. We will begin."

I climbed into the pod. The surface of the liquid was warm and strangely heavy, and as it enveloped me up to the neck, the pod sealed shut with a hiss.

Elder Neil touched a glowing control panel, typing rapidly—holographic characters flaring into existence like floating light sigils, reminiscent of what you'd see in an Iron Man display.

The pod roared to life.

The Aether began to boil, then vaporize into crimson mist, and that mist seeped into my skin like flowing energy.

Most people scream at this part.

The sensation is described as burning needles crawling through every vein.

But me?

I felt nothing...

I lost all my skin sensation years ago.

'My skin is just decoration at this point' - I mused.

Then—

Pain exploded inside my skull, sharp enough to split thought itself.

A vast amount of Information flooded in—like a tidal wave crashing into my mind and soul.

And my consciousness connected to something vast.... a colossal lattice of energy threads spanning the world.

TheWorld System.

And just like that— " I awakened"

After a few minutes...

I stepped out of the pod sometime later, fully dry as nanobot steam dispersed around me. I dressed quickly in the standard Godsbane combat suit—black and silver with scarlet accents—and approached Elder Neil.

He examined me, gaze penetrating like he could peel open my soul. After a long moment, he nodded once.

Without a word, he handed me a crystal tablet glowing with encoded runes—

A "Mana Circulation Technique" passed down the Godsbane bloodline.

And then.... he kicked me out.

Literally!!...

( I hope this fxcker die by electric shock some day... )

The door slammed shut behind me.

So yea.... after being tossed out like trash from the Awakening Chamber…

I headed back to my room to check what had changed inside me.

And to see what kind of monster I was becoming....
