The morning light was faint, and a thin mist enveloped the law firm's windows.
The streetlights' glow streamed through the glass into the interior, illuminating Eri Kisaki's figure as she prepared for work.
Her fingertips tapped lightly on the keyboard, her expression focused and calm.
Suddenly, a rush of footsteps came from the corridor, breaking the silence.
"Bang!"
The law firm's door was violently kicked open, and a group of burly men streamed in.
At the front was a powerfully built man with a hideous scar on his face.
The scar extended from the corner of his right eye all the way to the corner of his mouth, twisting grotesquely like a centipede.
It was none other than the former leader of the Ni Can Society—Onido Natsufusa.
His gaze was as sharp as a hawk's; after scanning the room, it finally settled on Eri Kisaki.
"Lawyer Hagiri, I've long heard your name."
Onido Natsufusa's voice was hoarse and low, carrying a hint of threat.
A cold sneer played on his lips, and his eyes revealed greed and ruthlessness.
"I hear you've recently acquired some valuable antiques. Why don't you hand them over, and we can stay out of each other's business?"
Eri Kisaki frowned slightly, her expression still calm:
"I don't know what you're talking about. This is a law firm, not a place for you to cause trouble."
Onido Natsufusa sneered.
He gestured with his eyes to several subordinates behind him to surround the office, sealing all the doors and windows.
Then he pulled out a sharp dagger from his pocket and casually played with it in his hand:
"Lawyer Hagiri, I don't have that much patience. If you don't play along, don't blame me for being impolite."
Just then, a lazy voice came from the corner:
"Who are you going to be rude to? I'd like to see."
Everyone's gaze turned to the source of the voice.
Kamishiro Yu was seen leisurely leaning on the sofa, holding a cup of hot tea, his expression calm.
He slowly rose, took a step, and stood in front of Eri Kisaki, his gaze calmly fixed on Onido Natsufusa, seemingly not putting the other party in his eyes at all.
Eri Kisaki looked at Kamishiro Yu's back and couldn't help but feel very secure, but also couldn't help but worry about him.
Her fingers tightened slightly, digging into her palm, leaving a faint crescent mark.
A hint of anger flashed in Onido Natsufusa's eyes.
How long had it been since he had been looked down upon like this?
A mere little white face dared to act arrogant in front of him.
He stared at Kamishiro Yu, his tone filled with disdain and mockery:
"You want to be a hero saving the beauty, huh?"
"What are you? How dare you speak to me like that?"
"No matter how good your luck was yesterday, today you'll only end up here."
Kamishiro Yu chuckled softly, his voice clear and composed:
"Who I am isn't important. What's important is that you've disturbed my enjoyment of tea."
Onido Natsufusa laughed in extreme anger, the scar on his face twisting with fury:
"Kid, you're looking for death!"
He waved his hand, and several of his underlings immediately rushed towards Kamishiro Yu.
Several steel pipes and daggers glinted coldly in the light.
However, the next second, everyone froze.
Kamishiro Yu's figure flickered like a ghost, appearing in front of the underlings almost instantly.
His movements were dazzlingly fast.
Within a few short seconds, the underlings wailed and fell to the ground, their weapons flying from their hands and hitting the ground with dull thuds.
And not a single drop of the hot tea in his hand had spilled.
Onido Natsufusa's face instantly turned pale, and fine cold sweat seeped from his forehead.
He looked at Kamishiro Yu in disbelief:
"You... who exactly are you?"
"I am the leader of the Ni Can Society. Do you dare to kill me?"
Kamishiro Yu's gaze remained calm, with a hint of playfulness in his tone:
"Ni Can Society? Some time ago, a guy with a black dragon tattoo seemed just as arrogant as you!
"But he should already be repenting in hell now."
"Black Dragon, Tatsuzo Menuki. You actually killed him!"
Onido Natsufusa's pupils involuntarily contracted, his voice filled with unconcealed horror.
He naturally knew Tatsuzo Menuki's strength.
A large part of the reason he was usurped was due to the martial prowess of Black Dragon Tatsuzo Menuki.
Yet, the Black Dragon actually died at the hands of the young man before him?
"Tatsuzo Menuki? Perhaps, I don't remember the names of minor characters."
Kamishiro Yu looked at Onido Natsufusa with a playful gaze, as if enjoying the other party's gradually collapsing expression.
This made the latter break out in cold sweat.
What a terrifying gaze that was?
Onido Natsufusa retreated repeatedly, feeling sweat soaking his entire body.
Kamishiro Yu slowly took a step, each step seemingly treading on Onido Natsufusa's heart:
"You wanted the antique, didn't you? Come, I'll personally give it to you."
Onido Natsufusa tried to run, but Kamishiro Yu had already grabbed his collar and slammed him heavily to the ground.
Onido Natsufusa's back hit the ground with a thud, and the pain made him groan.
Immediately after, Kamishiro Yu stomped on Onido Natsufusa's face with such force that his cheek deformed, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.
"P-please... have mercy~"
Onido Natsufusa struggled to beg for mercy, his voice filled with terror.
His hands weakly clutched Kamishiro Yu's pant leg, trying to break free, but it was all in vain.
Kamishiro Yu sneered, his gaze icy:
"The leader of the Ni Can Society, is this all you've got? Truly disappointing."
A cold glint flashed in his eyes, and a ball of Spiritual Flame appeared in his hand.
This was a flame formed by the combination of his Spiritual Power and Onmyōdō.
The seemingly warm golden flame, in Onido Natsufusa's eyes, was as terrifying as the karmic fires of hell.
The next moment, the flames silently enveloped Onido Natsufusa and his underlings.
Their bodies rapidly turned to ashes in the flames, without even a single scream.
A moment later, only a pile of ashes remained on the ground, as if no one had ever existed... Eri Kisaki watched this scene, her eyes filled with shock.
Her fingers gripped the corner of the table tightly, her knuckles white from the effort.
She had never seen Kamishiro Yu like this; that coldness and power felt unfamiliar, yet inexplicably attracted her.
"Yu-kun..."
Eri Kisaki's voice trembled slightly, her gaze filled with complex emotions, both shock and worry.
Kamishiro Yu turned his head, his gaze softening:
"Eri, this is my true self. If you feel scared and want to stay away from me, I understand."
Eri Kisaki was silent for a moment, then slowly walked towards Kamishiro Yu, extending her arms to gently embrace his waist.
Her cheek rested on his chest, feeling his strong heartbeat.
She made her decision, her voice firm and gentle:
Kamishiro Yu was slightly startled, then revealed a gentle smile.
He gently stroked Eri Kisaki's long hair, a hint of relief in his voice:
"Thank you, Eri."
Eri Kisaki looked up, a hint of curiosity in her eyes:
"Was that Spiritual Flame just now your true power?"
Kamishiro Yu nodded and slowly said:
"Yes, but only a part of it."
He briefly explained his experiences during this period and also told Eri Kisaki about his ability to contract Divine Servants.
Then, he looked at Eri Kisaki and softly asked:
"Eri, would you be willing to form a contract with me?"
