Serena Stanton was just as surprised as that boy.
Why would Adrian Shaw carry a marriage certificate with him?
After buying the oden, the two sat down at the bar stools in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. The warm white light spilled across the wooden countertop, and Serena, nibbling on her fish roe pouch, couldn't help but ask:
"Why do you carry the marriage certificate with you? What if you lose it?"
"If I lose it, I'll just get a replacement." Adrian nonchalantly twisted open the milk bottle she had drunk from and took a sip.
He wasn't wrong about that.
Serena continued, "Then why did you show the marriage certificate to that boy? He's about ten years younger than us. Why not just tell him not to fall in love early and to focus on his studies?"
Adrian lazily stretched out his long legs and tilted his head to look at her, "Do you think lecturing works?"
Serena pondered.
It really doesn't work.
