Coming out of the office, Tian Xin looked up at the sky. The weather was clear, not a cloud in the sky, and her mood seemed to brighten as well.
It was shift change time and there were no cars in front of the scales house. She glanced over, saw Li Meng was busy, and walked quickly out of the yard and through the gate.
Lin Zhou was waiting anxiously, having called several times already.
She walked to the car and knocked on the passenger window. Lin Zhou rolled down the glass and said, "Get in."
"You should go home; I should too!"
"Get in!" Lin Zhou simply repeated, then turned his head. She hesitated for a moment, then turned and got in the car.
The car drove towards the county seat. She was a bit surprised, not taking her home? At this hour?
"Where are we going?" She fastened her seatbelt and turned to him.
"Taking you somewhere!" Lin Zhou remained calm, his tone as gentle as ever. Probably afraid she'd worry, he reiterated, "Don't worry, I'll take you back later!"
