Scene 77 – "A Dusty Road"**

Labeeb passed through the town… and after some time, a long dusty road stretched out before him.

And although he was tired and very hungry, he continued walking…

And behind him, not far away, we glimpse **Jim Jamar** driving a small bus, smiling a happy and excited smile when he saw Labeeb in front of him.

He said:

"Finally… I found you."

His necklace was glowing with great intensity…

What??? No, no, don't ask me where Jim Jamar got the bus from, and how would I know?? Come on, let's continue…

Labeeb found a small stream sparkling under the sun, so he stretched out his hand and drank sip by sip.

While he was doing that, he heard an engine sound coming from behind…

He turned… it was a small bus…

The bus stopped right in front of Labeeb, and the driver stuck his head out of the window — and you know who he is.

**Jim Jamar:**

"Hey boy… surely you need a ride. Come on, get in, get in!"

Labeeb was surprised and said:

"You… you're red… completely red."

**Jim Jamar:**

"And did I tell you I'm green or blue-purple or brown, boy??…

Come on, get in, I have fish, come on!"

And because Labeeb was extremely hungry, he didn't think for long — he probably didn't think at all — and he quickly got in and sat on the seat beside Jim Jamar.

**Jim Jamar:**

"Where do you want me to take you?"

**Labeeb Ghaith:**

"The fish, give me the fish, where is the fish?"

Jim Jamar took the grilled fish out of a box beside him and said:

"Here, enjoy it, and bon appétit, here you go."

Then he also handed him bread:

"The bread, my friend, the bread, go ahead."

Labeeb devoured everything greedily.

**Jim Jamar:**

"Water?"

**Labeeb** (his mouth full):

"Yes, please."

Labeeb was full and felt great relief.

He said:

"Aaaaaah, thank God."

**Jim Jamar:**

"Where to???"

**Labeeb:**

"I don't know… I don't know. All that matters to me is leaving this country."

**Jim Jamar:**

"Alright… I'll take you to my destination, then leave you to decide where you'll go afterward. Deal?"

**Labeeb:**

"Deal… and where is your destination?"

**Jim Jamar:**

"I don't know."

Labeeb burst into laughter.

**Jim Jamar:**

"You told me you don't know, and you didn't laugh… I told you I don't know, so why are you laughing???"

**Labeeb:**

"Sorry… I don't know why you make me laugh. I've never laughed this much before."

**Jim Jamar:**

"I'm happy I caused your happiness."

Labeeb's expression turned serious, and he said to himself:

"Not everyone who laughs is happy."

**Jim Jamar:**

"My name is Jim Jamar, my friend."

**Labeeb:**

"My name is Labeeb Ghaith… As for 'friend,' that word has no place in my dictionary, nor does 'trust.'"

**Jim Jamar:**

"Then why did you smile when you saw me? And you're sitting beside me?…

And you finished my fish and laughed too?"

**Labeeb:**

"I don't know what I truly feel seeing you… I don't even have the desire to ask who you are…

Believe me, I feel as if you are me in another body."

Jim Jamar spoke to himself:

"I feel the same… my heart has always pounded strongly…

And it forced me to come to this world searching for you."

Then out loud he said:

"You don't know me, but your heart knows me very well."

Labeeb noticed the necklace around Jim Jamar's neck,

He was shocked and said:

"Where did you get this?… Exactly, it's just like it!"

Jim Jamar was confused and didn't understand what Labeeb meant…

Labeeb took out his necklace from his pocket and said:

"Like the one I have… look!"

The bus leaves us behind as it heads toward the horizon, carrying Jim Jamar and Labeeb… but we can still hear them.

**Jim Jamar:**

"See? Our hearts know each other, and our necklaces are sisters."

Their voices began to fade until they were barely heard.

**Labeeb:**

"He gave it to me in the past…"

Their voices disappeared… and the bus became a tiny dot, as if heading toward the sun nearing sunset.

**Narrator:**
