Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Sword Array

Reaching towards the light, his eyes open to a desolate street. Nothing like his own world, dry, pale, and lifeless. Multiple street stalls lay in one path; however, upon closer look, they have been long abandoned and damaged without another thought. Torn-up pieces of flagging and carts meet his sight before looking down to see his own hands. Rough, unlike before. His body also seemed somewhat more toned, although not by a long shot, considering his past living conditions and surviving on ramen three meals a day.

Even with the leaves blowing past him in this empty street, one distinct sound was caught by his ears. Loud, clinging metal. Sword strikes, to be exact. He turned his head as he remained kneeling on the ground, his eyes widening at the sight in front of him.

"Get him, senior brother!"

An arrogant young man with his hair tied into a bun. Noticeably shorter than the figure standing beside him. He couldn't get a clear look at the bigger figure, but could sense the smirk hidden behind his face.

"P-please! Let me go! I just wanted some jades!"

In front of them was a bearded old man, unkempt just as he was. His skin was wrinkled to the extreme, and eyelids barely keeping up. He wore rags compared to the two men hulking before him, who wore tight, sinking blue uniforms. He could catch the emblem from the corner of his eyes.

Weeping Willow.

What was this? A martial world?

"Senior Brother Gong, we have to get rid of these beggars! Look at the necklace he has, that'll bring good fortune to our sect! Hahaha!"

It really was! His eyes lit up.

The taller man then sharpened his sword with his knuckles.

"Looks like it's time to see the fruits of my training, I'll prove to the elders I can become an Inner Disciple!"

He breathed in.

"Sword Array: Flying Swords!"

Then, from his fingertips came a strand of qi that adorned a light blue hue.

The result of his array was..

A singular sword.
