CHAPTER 54 — WORK FROM HOME AND CONSTANT CARE

Morning — Dante Leaves for Work

The sun rose over the sprawling Dante Moretti estate, casting a golden glow through the large windows of the mansion. Auri stirred in the plush bed, still feeling weak from the pregnancy fatigue, but grateful for the comfort of the mansion and the devoted care of Dante's staff.

"Good morning, Miss Auri," said a maid gently, setting a tray with breakfast tea, fresh fruits, and soft toast beside her. "We prepared everything you need for the day."

Auri smiled softly, nodding her thanks. "Thank you… really, this helps a lot."

Dante appeared briefly, straightening his suit and giving her a quick, protective glance. "I'm heading to the office today. Don't move too much, alright?"

Auri chuckled lightly. "I'll be fine, Dante. You don't have to worry about me."

He knelt briefly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I'll call and text you constantly anyway. You know I can't help it."

Auri rolled her eyes playfully. "You're hopelessly overprotective, you know that?"

"And you love it," he said with a smirk before stepping out, leaving her in the care of the attentive maids.

Daytime — Auri Working From Home

Once Dante left, Auri settled at a cozy corner in the mansion, her laptop in front of her. She had insisted on continuing her work from home, despite Dante's protestations.

"I'm fine, really," she told the head maid, who offered to handle the spreadsheets and emails for her. "I just want to stay busy. If I don't work, I'd go stir-crazy."

The maid nodded, smiling. "Of course, Miss Auri. We'll make sure you're comfortable and have everything you need."

Auri began typing emails, drafting proposals, and organizing her virtual assistant tasks, but she kept a careful eye on her energy levels, taking breaks when necessary. Even so, she couldn't help but giggle whenever her phone buzzed.

Constant Contact — Dante's Texts and Calls

Throughout the day, Dante's presence was felt in the constant stream of messages and calls.

10:15 AM:How are you feeling, love? Breakfast eaten? Drink water?

11:03 AM:Do you need me to call someone to help with the documents? Don't tire yourself.

12:25 PM:Lunch time. Eat properly. No skipping. You hear me?

2:00 PM:How's my baby mama? Resting enough? I can't stop thinking about you.

Auri laughed softly at the barrage of messages. She typed back:

"Dante, you don't have to worry about me. I'm fine. The maids are taking care of me. I'm not dying, you know."

2:05 PM:Not taking any chances. You rest. I want my baby safe and sound. I'll check in every hour if I have to.

Auri shook her head with a smile, feeling the warmth in her chest. Despite his strict, overbearing messages, she couldn't deny how comforting it was to know he cared so deeply.

"Fine," she replied, laughing softly. "But you better work, mister. Don't just sit there worrying."

2:06 PM:Never. Worrying about you is part of my job. Everything else can wait.

Auri rolled her eyes, covering her mouth to hide a giggle. "Hopelessly obsessed," she muttered under her breath.

Evening — Dante's Check-In

By late afternoon, Dante finally had a short break from meetings. He called Auri, hearing her cheerful voice immediately brightened his mood.

"Hey, my love. How are you?" Dante's voice was filled with both concern and warmth.

"I'm fine! Honestly, you don't need to worry so much. The maids are amazing, the house is perfect, and I'm not overdoing anything," Auri replied with a laugh.

"I know you're capable, but you can't deny I worry when I'm not by your side," Dante said softly.

Auri shook her head, even though he couldn't see her. "I know… and I love that you care. But you don't have to overthink every second."

"I can't help it," he admitted, a playful edge in his tone. "You're carrying my child. Every second you're not in my arms, I'm counting down until I can see you again."

Auri felt her heart skip a beat. "You're ridiculous, you know that?"

"I'm ridiculous for you," he said simply. "And soon, I'll be ridiculous for our little one too."

Reflection — Auri's Comfort and Joy

As the sun set over Dante's mansion, Auri leaned back in the soft armchair, closing her laptop. She reflected on the day—productive, but filled with constant reminders of Dante's love and care.

Even though she had initially resisted the idea of leaving her apartment and working from home, she couldn't deny how safe and adored she felt. Every text, every call, every reminder from Dante reminded her that she was cherished.

Despite his busy schedule, he always made time for her. Always checked, always worried, always loving.

Auri smiled to herself, whispering softly: "He's impossible… but I wouldn't trade it for the world."
