Synopsis
Once a decorated soldier, he lived his final years drowning in the weight of war—regret, hopelessness, and the hollow ache of a soul stripped bare by the horrors he’d witnessed. He died forgotten, a man whose spirit had long since fled. Yet death was not the end. The Eternal Architect, unseen yet omnipresent, offered him a second chance, not as the man he had been, but as something more. Reborn into the another world, he awakens as Lythion, a lowly shepherd in a small city. This is a world where monsters like the succubi, vampires, undead horrors, and colossal giants roam the lands and a mysterious System guides him, giving quests and challenges only he can face. But these trials are more than battles; each victory, each encounter, forces him to reclaim the emotions he had lost: courage, joy, love, grief, and hope itself. With every emotion regained, Lythion grows stronger, awakening powers tied to the very essence of his soul. From shepherd to warrior, from broken to whole, Lythion must navigate betrayal, forbidden desires, and the crushing weight of leadership. Only by reclaiming the full spectrum of his humanity can he ascend not just to power, but to the chance for true reincarnation. “A crown is not given; it is earned… through the heart, the soul, and the battles no man sees.”

Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Beginning

[Note: you can choose to skip this but if you wish to understand the start of his journey and why it's happening then, I'd advice you to take a break and go through this, otherwise, enjoy your journey Oh traveller!]

"THE BEGINNING"

A man stood at the centre of an empty expanse of darkness, his brain trying to understand where he found himself. On the horizon, he saw a thin thread of light, forming closer than his eyes could see.

He felt empty and light, he tried stretching his hand to reach for the light but it was too far off in the distance. To his eyes, it seemed close, but to his physical body, it was farther than he could reach.

For some reason, he could breathe in this space, and from his knowledge of airspace, it was either air was being formed or it was escaping an open area into the empty space.

He swept his gaze across the void, but as he had noticed earlier, the darkness never left. It remained unchanged. He couldn't feel, smell, or hear anything, but he could not let go of the thought that something was around him.

'How did I get here?'

He stared at the forming light, slowly dispersing into different colours, just like when light hits a prism. The full electromagnetic spectrum that was in the incoming light was separated, bringing colour and significance to the once empty void of nothingness.

Stars started forming on the horizon, merging together with the dispersing light to illuminate the given surrounding space. Some stars fused together, forming distant voids far off on the horizon, the soil formed below his feet, and vegetation grew out of the Earth around him.

'Is this ... .creation?'

Water bodies poured from above, filling up the empty spaces, covering almost all things. Above him, the sky was formed, with clouds serving as curtains to the firmament above it.

'Exactly what is happening? I'm I witnessing creation with my own eyes, or I'm I just seeing things right now?'

He watched as everything was set in place. Trees sprouted from the empty soil, growing into fully grown trees.

Above the sky, various other external bodies continued the formation. A white distant planet was next in line. It didn't seem far off like he expected, and it was smaller also.

He noticed it seemed similar to something within his memory. While he was busy staring at the white planet outside the atmosphere, animals formed out of thin air.

Birds, crawling creatures, land animals, sea animals, and tree animals, like they were already existing. He watched everything come into existence from nothing, but he remained afloat.

Once everything was created, he suddenly floated downwards and landed on the soil below his feet. It was mesmerising, almost fictional to witness creation from scratch. For any other person, they could have gone mad, but he didn't for some reason.

He stood on the grassland, wind blowing the trees and grasses around him. The sky remained sunny as the star governing the galaxy shone bright.

"This is unbelievable." He watched in awe. He couldn't believe his eyes.

He walked over to a tree beside him and placed his hands on it, feeling the bark to make sure what he saw was real and not a product of his imagination.

"It's real…" he whispered in silence.

He was alone on this large planet, the only living homo sapien in this newly created planet. He glanced far off the horizon, and he could see nothing more than animals.

Animals of different natures and varieties were moving around the large expanse of land he found himself in.

He took in deep breaths to remind himself of his current situation, when suddenly there was a heavy rumble. The earth below him trembled below his feet, causing the animals to scatter about.

He dropped to the ground, dipping his fingers into the soil as a measure for the quake. The earthquake continued for a while until it stopped, and then there was silence.

He glanced around first before rising to his feet, dusting his hands as his beating heart slowed.

"Do you understand what I have just shown you?" A voice spoke behind him, scaring the daylights out of him.

He fell to the ground, turning around slowly to meet the individual. He initially planned to curse but he held back his words on second thought.

He fully turned around and their eyes met, it was a human or so he thought. 'I thought I was the only one on this planet, how then?'

He glowed in an unnatural radiance, almost like the sun was illuminating through him, even though he seemed fully human from the distance he stood.

His hair was a cascading radiance of gold, flowing down like a waterfall, and it stopped at his shoulders. His clothes were not of the era he was familiar with, they felt new and unusual to him.

"Uhm..excuse me, but who are you and do you have any idea where I may be?" he asked honestly, hoping he would get a reasonable answer from this stranger.

"I'm sorry about that Lythion, I was supposed to introduce myself first." He chuckled softly, moving closer to him.

'He knows my name? Do I know this guy?!'

"I am the Architect or as your kind likes to say it, the Creator. That's all you need to know about me, and for what you are doing here…well, we have an unsettled matter to discuss." He placed a hand on his shoulder.

He signalled for Lythion to follow him with a hand gesture which Lythion understood and obeyed quietly.

"You call yourself 'the creator?!', why is that? Any reason you don't mind sharing?"

They both walked over a fallen tree branch, the serene field breeze sweeping by softly as they walked across it. The architect placed both his hands behind him as they walked, like a teacher lecturing his students.

"I don't call myself 'the creator'" he released a loud laugh, slightly amused by Lythion's response. "I am the creator, that's my job, I create and govern planets, galaxies, and universes."

"An example is the one we are on at the moment, you saw the creation yourself. You can't deny that it wasn't real, just to make yourself feel better."

Lythion glanced down at his palms, blinking his eyes more than once, then raised his head and stared at the sky for a while before turning to him.

"You mean, you did everything I saw some minutes ago? Like the light spectrum, the sky, space….everything?!" He gestured with his hands, in a circular motion to explain his point.

The architect nodded with a smile, he seemed to be enjoying Lythion's confusion but he remained quiet about it, his hands over Lythion's shoulders as they walked.

"I can't believe it, but then how do you look like…a human?!"

"Well, if I appeared to you in my true form, you would not be able to comprehend it and might go mad. So my best bet was to come in the form of something you were familiar with."

Lythion stared in surprise, his expression betraying his composure. They stopped walking for a brief moment and turned to each other.

"Right before we drift away from what I am originally here for, we have to get to it so we can both get back to our separate lives."

"Okay ... so why did you call me here?!" Lythion questioned, his hands falling into his pocket.

"Well, how do I say this now?" He caressed his chin slowly. "You see, you didn't die the proper way and that has affected your reincarnation."

"What do you mean, can you further explain the context for my understanding? I'm not very good at understanding the first time someone speaks." He chuckled.

"I understand..okay, think of it as some certain things you did during your lifetime that have affected your reincarnation because your soul is empty and this has almost never happened before."

"My soul is empty? How is it possible? What did I do during my lifetime to end up like that?" Lythion became worried, a burrowed brow appearing on his face.

"How do I get it back? Is there any possible way to get it back?"

The architect turned to the horizon to give his question a thought with a hand over his chin as he watched the field animals.

"I have an idea but I don't know if you will like it." He answered after giving his question a proper thought.

"Say it, then I'll decide if I will be able to do it or not."

"Okay then. It's actually very simple if you think about it, it might take a while to accomplish but then again it's all up to you."

"Here it is." He snapped his fingers and a holographic representation of his thoughts appeared before them, so as he spoke, they came to life as holograms.

"You will live your life on this planet but note, this isn't your reincarnation, it's just to get your empty soul filled up again before your main reincarnation." He pointed out first.

"You will gain each of the emotions you lost in your last life, and each one you gain will grant you an ability, cultivation, or element, whichever order it follows. Of course, you won't be alone, there will be other species on this planet also."

"Your only task is to simply gain every last emotion, I will grant you a guide that will keep check on your progress and loss, and every other thing regarding your journey. "

"Don't think it will be easy because of how I am portraying it to you. So what do you think? Sounds fair?"

Lythion gave the architects words some thought, weighing the idea and the possibility of completing it, for him it seemed pretty simple.

'I mean, just gain back my emotions….how hard can it be?'

"I agree." He answered.

"Very well, I will be sending you to your starting point. Good luck." His last words before snapping his fingers and reality trembled before Lythion.

Everything around him started reforming, taking him forward in time. He watched the creator slowly disappear with a wave as everything slowed down.

Then, it came to pass. Lythion ended up knocked out by the experience, to awaken at his starting point.
