After the Royal Knight returned, we prepared to teleport again. But before we activated the circle, the Light called out to me. It said something about my awakening during the battle, and how unusual it was. According to the Light, I had awakened a Tradition—the power each soul is born with.
Tradition is something every person possesses. When a soul is born, it is linked to either a god or an evil god. Some gods choose people based on their actions, and when the time comes, they lend their power to that soul. In return, the soul becomes a vessel for the god when they wish to descend or be reborn in the world.
But the entire system changed long ago.Gods started giving power to humans simply for entertainment—so they never grew bored. Among them were evil gods and cults who possessed humans for their own gain. Some people awaken their Tradition; some never do.
In my case, I awakened because of the sword—a sword that might be from the ancient Rebel Swords used during the Great War. These swords were created to oppose the gods' system, opposing how divine beings played with the lives of humans and other creatures. The Great War destroyed the world, and in the end, the rebels could not win.
Legends say the Seven Great Rebels will one day be reborn, defeat both gods and evil gods, and save the world.
But it was only a legend. It shouldn't be possible.Yet… the Light said I seemed to be connected to one of the Seven Rebel Souls.
Then the Light handed me my reward for defeating the High-Class Kailo:The One Wish Item—a small parchment-like paper. I had read about it in books, but had never seen one in reality.
There was a problem, though.A One Wish Item can only be used after answering a question with no correct answer. The answer must come from the heart—based on the person's true feelings.
The Light gave the item to me and said:
"Death and life are two forms of the same soul.A soul unbound does not belong to heaven or hell. The soul of the rebel follows the path you choose. When the time comes, the truth will reveal itself.Every road leads to a single future."
I could not understand the meaning. The Light told me the answer would come when I returned here again.
Then the teleportation activated, and we were transported into the Kingdom of Vroston.
To my left was the Captain. To my right, the Knight. Before us stood the Captain of District Five. They all congratulated us for returning safely. They wanted to ask many questions, but the Captain insisted we rest first.
I was taken to a room in the royal palace. It was large, beautifully decorated, with a soft bed. I was too exhausted to even think—I collapsed into sleep immediately.
The Next Morning
I woke up early and went into the kingdom to observe and gather information about the curse and the barrier separating this land from the outside world. The people only believed it was some disease that made them feel tired. Since the kingdom traded only within itself, the people didn't care about the barrier. Their lives seemed normal.
The kingdom was huge—too large for me to explore fully in one morning. From speaking with the locals, I learned the kingdom had nine districts, each led by its own Captain. Many races lived here peacefully: elves, dwarves, and more.
I placed several magical circles and traps in hidden areas so I would sense if someone with dangerous intent entered the kingdom.
Later, I went to the Lotus River, which lay outside the kingdom. The river was named after the magical lotus that bloomed once every 100 years. This lotus was special—it had the power to reveal glimpses of the future. The king never used its power, as he was devoted to the God of Rain for the sake of the farmers.
Because the lotus was blooming now, many Kailo tried to steal it, so soldiers and two vice-captains were guarding it.
After observing the lotus, I decided to return to the kingdom. But on the way back… I sensed something strange.
Something out of the ordinary.Something that could not be described in words.
