The figure rising from the explosion gripped Heins by the neck, smoke faded as the figure became more visible, his long light brown trench coat, was burnt and ripped by the edges, the sleeves rolled up revealing rock like pale skin, his pants were a dark charred black and his darkened black hair was covered by a captains hat, it's more brown than white. His stern look and his mutton chops grew out into points 20 cm from his face, a thick rope was strung around his torso. Tied to his back, a sword almost 2 meters in length, it was made from a giant swordfish's nose, the handle made of a dark wood, wrapped in bandages covered in a red liquid.
Heins kicked and struggled, he swung a sickle however the blade didn't even pierce his skin, it was that hard. Fury and Baldwin stood in shock, Victor reached with his free hand gripping the sword's handle. Pulling it free, he swung it wide. Clearing the remaining smoke from the explosion. 'The one who made the mistake is you!' Victor said, dropping Heins to the floor, he scampered away, as Harper came running in, 'she's so fast dammit!' he said ducking under a pile of corroded boxes. Medusa came barging in, hissing like a snake. Victor turned as a second figure emerged from the wreckage, a tall man dragging a chain behind him like a weapon.
'Smith,' Victor muttered with a smirk. 'Still loyal after all these years?'
Smith nodded. 'Always, Captain.' The medusa stared at Victor intently, Victor stared back, unaffected by her ability, he strode forward, Smirking a fiendish smile.
He stood towering over her, she stammered back, he grabbed her by the hair, the snakes hissing as they were gripped tightly. He grabbed her torso as well, ripping the snakes clean off her head, she screamed, smacking his body to no avail, before being dropped as well. The man swung his chain, it wrapped around Medusa's arms and torso, restraining her.
'What are you doing?' she screeched, 'captain, may i restrain her mouth as well?' he asked,
'Smith, I missed you, and yes I can't stand that obnoxious sound.' Smith obeyed, wrapping a chain around her neck, covering her mouth.
The explosion hurled Baldwin from the wreck. He crashed onto the jagged rocks below, his body punctured by sharp edges. His clothes—ripped, torn, and soaked—clung to his wounds. He landed hard on a small ledge, just two meters above the water. He tried to stand, but his legs were bleeding, he tried to shout but his neck had a hole in it. Rolled on his stomach staring out at the ocean. Is this it? He asked himself. Is this how I die? He saw something glistening in the water. He reached out trying to find it. Once it swam into the shadow of the rock, it revealed itself to be a koi fish. Baldwin frowned through his wounds, a koi fish was a freshwater fish. What was it doing here? He reached out to touch it, and suddenly it sprang out and landed on his head. He reached up to grab it, but it was gone. He felt at ease, he couldn't explain it but, he felt as if his wounds were disappearing, he stood up almost unfazed. And climbed up the rocks, finding the hole in the wreck the explosion had caused.
He climbed to see a group of figures standing in the settling smoke, he saw a shadow cast behind him, multiple! He turned to see a massive flamboyance of flamingos flying directly towards him. He thought of reaching for his gun and in an instant he had it in his hand, the hammer pulled back, he raised it and fired, a sudden spray of smaller bullets went flying out of the barrel, hitting most of the flock, causing them to scatter.
'Damn it!' Mapwrite whispered under his breath, he had hidden himself in a small corner of the ship, viewing the battlefield through his flamingoes. He stood up and pulled out a small pocket compass as he opened it he suddenly vanished. He reappeared in a dark room, the lights flickering on instantly, he dropped to one knee, 'my lord,' he stammered 'they captured Medusa and Heins. Smith is a traitor!'
'Silence!' a deep voice boomed, sending shivers through Mapwrite, 'do you think so little of me that i wouldn't know who is a traitor in my midst?' the figure leant forward, out of a deliberately cast shadow, covering his throne. Stepping into the light, a white dressed figure stood, a cutlass at his side, a helmet with a moon shaped visor to cover his face,
'Of course not my lord!' Mapwrite said, trembling visibly. 'They destroyed my sea beasts, so I retreated to replenish my squall!' he said, a servant stepped into view, holding a pillow with a small bottle. The bottle had a dark blue solution in it with, seemingly, salt mixed with it. Mapwrite rose, took the bottle and drank it in one gulp, he placed it back on the pillow and bowed, before pulling out the compass again, and he vanished once more.
'Smith, restrain her vision as well! We don't want any of us to turn to stone!' Victor said, putting his sword on his back again. He stared at Heins trying to escape, he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out 2 shackles. Victor placed one on Hein's wrists, picking him up by the collar of the neck and motioning Smith to do the same, throwing him the 2nd shackle. Fury stepped up to his father, he noted that his father must have stood at 260 cm tall, a giant among mariners. 'Father, I don't believe we've met!' Fury outstretched a hand to shake, but Victor pulled him in for a hug squeezing. Fury embraced his father as well, but couldn't to the extent his father was. 'It's good to see my son after being gone for so long.' he smiled a wide smile.
Smith dragged Medusa to the ship, Heins being pulled as well. Baldwin tried fixing the ship to the best of his ability, making the Diamond Pearl barley sea worthy, as the ship was set back for Cairo, the group met in the living room of the ship.
'What's the plan, Captain?' Smith asked, 'No offence, but when you on my ship I'm the captain, and I'm dropping you guys off at the port, Fury I would like my pay now!' Fury looked shocked but nodded, 'that's not how you talk to a stormblade! Show your respect, while you were in your diapers, captain Stormblade was fighting the moonlord in World war 2!' Smith stepped forward, gripping the chain slung over his back.
'Smith, he is right, this is his ship, he's the captain, call me Mr Stormblade for now!' Victor said, tapping his finger on the table, 'but you can't leave us now, you're in too deep, you've already become a mariner, you are in this with us now!' Victor said standing up, Baldwin could see it, a cold aura surrounding him, it was glowing a dark and bright blue. He looked at his gun, remembering the feeling of how he drew it so fast. He felt it, the squall in his arms and body, it was cold, but not in a bad way. 'I will teach you what I can, and as for you atlantean, if you wish, we will pay you not to speak of any of this.' Harper shook his head, 'Mr Balwin took me off the streets and gave me all I needed, I'm not leaving him even in my dying moments!' Harper stood next to Baldwin, who was smiling wildly.
Baldwin was taken outside onto the deck by Victor, 'the first step in becoming a mariner is mastering your squall. Squall is a power derived from sea water in your body so not many people can get one naturally. Due to this sudden awakening and seeing as you only know sea sight, you must've encountered a spirit koi.'
'Was that the wild koi fish I saw?' Baldwin asked, 'correct, they often split up to avoid being caught by fisherman. They often find dead or dying people with potential to become a mariner and grant it to them.'
'So what's that got to do with my "Mariners Abyss"?'
'You're one of the lucky ones, developing an Abyss has often taken years of practice, but you seem to have developed one in a few short hours.' Victor said, putting a pillow on his fist and using a rope to tie it into place. 'Stand by the wall.' he said, Baldwin walked hesitantly asking 'what for?' he stood almost half a meter from the wall, Victor pushed him to the wall and wound up a punch, 'wait!' Baldwin screamed but Victor swung anyway, slamming Baldwin into the wall. He felt a rush of squall enter his body, as he keeled over, spitting blood.
'Now you should have enough squall to start something.' Victor said as he pulled the pillow off his fist. Mapwrite stood on a small speedboat chasing after the tugboat, eyeing them from afar.
A heavy fog rolled on the rocky shores of an unknown island, the waves crashed on the teeth like shore, with shipwrecks littering the coast. A small row boat bobbing through it all, lanterns and flashlights searching for something. As they come up to a ship, one leaps off and starts searching. He whispered to himself 'damn, it's so hard to see in this fog, but gold and coins should stick out in the darkness, ' he looked and rummaged. He stumbled upon a dead man, his stomach cut open, but the blood had dried a while back. The man searched the corpse but found nothing but a medallion. It looked to be made of a bronze alloy, it had a face carved into it, an octopus was on it, it had evil looking eyes, the man looked at its backside, finding a small stone lodged into it. He pulled it out, and the medallion began to glow, he dropped it. It began to shake and vibrate, until a mass of darkness crept out of it, 2 red eyes pierced the darkened sky, as it crept into the dead man's mouth, the cut on his stomach began to heal, sealing up as if it was being undone, the man reared up and opened his eyes. He stood on his feet, his face was distorting, his beard turning into tentacles, his skin turned a pale green, gaining a slimy substance. He groaned as he clasped his face, 'damn it cthulhu! Just let me die!' he said as his wound fully healed. He drew a cutlass from his side and lunged at the now horrified man, the sword pierced through his mouth, coming out of the back of his neck.
The man keeled over and bled profusely, the once dead man kackled, 'finally, through Davy Jones body, the great god of cthulhu has returned!' He leapt from the wreck, landing onto the small boat, the men stammering back, as their heads were cleaved off, one by one.
Davy Jones stood in the small boat, still filled with blood from the sailors. He pulled out a compass opening and disappearing in an instant, he suddenly appeared on a cruise ship, sailing through the mediterranean. he looked around, walking to the side of the railing, he was standing on the stern of the ship.
He peered over the side, reading the name of the ship "SS Iron Wave". He smirked, as he leapt to the front of the ship in an instant. People were panicking, he seemed to be a monster of sorts, leaping across the ship in single leaps, he raised 2 of his fingers to his lips and enchanted, 'Sea territory: call of cthulhu!' a dome of invisible squall rose from his body, it stretched 3 kilometres in each direction. 'Listen to all passengers and crew of the 'Iron Wave''." he shouted, his voice carrying across the length of the ship.
'I am the god of chaos and evil, cthulhu. And if you do as I say you will all survive this upcoming purge!'
