After the High Sparrow woke up again, he returned to the South Mountain Nursing Home to take a look. There weren't many people left here; most had been taken by him into the monastery, but some who couldn't move remained.
Looking at these decaying old people, the High Sparrow didn't feel he was the same as them, because he had faith in his heart.
Afterward, the High Sparrow came to the North Sea Kindergarten again.
He liked coming here to watch these young children; he liked seeing them laugh and hearing their voices.
"Grandpa Sparrow!" a little girl ran over and called out.
"Ah, Cosette!" The High Sparrow smiled kindly as he looked at her.
"What's wrong?"
"Big Brother Mufasa, is he really dead?" Cosette asked sadly.
"I don't know, but he's not someone who dies easily. He is Mufasa!" said the High Sparrow. He patted Cosette's little head.
"As long as you pray sincerely, even if he died, he will come back to life, because the True God can fulfill any wish of a believer," said the High Sparrow.
Now he also knew that the so-called Faith of the Seven was merely an evolution developed from the Cthulhu Cult.
It was not the same thing as the Seven Gods he originally believed in.
Therefore, he wanted to found a new religion—a monotheism—with only one unique God, an omniscient and omnipotent God.
If the High Sparrow wanted to create a God, there must be a Mortal Vessel, an avatar of God in the human world. He had originally planned to let Mufasa be this Mortal Vessel.
But now Mufasa was missing, perhaps dead. He didn't know.
But the God's Mortal Vessel would not die.
Mufasa's accident disrupted his plan. However, he could continue to wait.
The North, Winterfell.
Eddard Stark received a letter from King's Landing. This letter could be called a letter of appointment, naming Eddard Stark as the Commander-in-Chief of the Seven Kingdoms allied forces frontline.
"This is good news! Father, why do you look so worried?" asked Robb Stark.
Because after Eddard Stark read the contents of the letter, he showed no sign of happiness.
"Robb, you are still young and don't know many things. With great power comes great responsibility."
"The Commander-in-Chief of the Seven Kingdoms allied forces frontline concerns the life and death of tens of thousands of people. Should I be happy about that?"
Eddard Stark's instruction made Robb Stark nod. Although he was still young, he wasn't brainless.
Although Eddard Stark had returned to Winterfell, Catelyn Tully was still in Riverrun. Her father was about to die, and she decided to stay in Riverrun until her father passed away.
As for the children of Eddard Stark and Catelyn Tully, except for Robb Stark who was in Winterfell, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon were all in King's Landing.
As the children of a Duke, they had the right to possess their own courtyard and guards in King's Landing.
At the same time, their figures always appeared at high-society social banquets.
"Beautiful Sansa, you seem uninterested!"
At a dance, Prince Renly approached her, holding a glass of wine.
"Look, aren't Jeyne Poole and Beth Cassel having a great time?"
Renly was referring to the two handmaidens and confidantes Sansa Stark had brought from Winterfell.
One was the steward's daughter, and the other was the master-at-arms' daughter.
"Lord Renly, you are the representative of the Council. Did something really happen to Mufasa?" Sansa Stark asked.
"Him? He's missing, everyone knows that, but the specific news hasn't arrived yet. After all, King's Landing is separated from The Wall by the entire Kingsroad! Even ravens take a month to fly!" Renly shrugged.
"But sometimes I really envy them for being able to go to war! Loras went too, which has made me a bit bored lately." Renly showed a look of utter boredom.
"My Lord, I heard that you, that... surely it's not true... After all, you and Ser Loras are both men! You wouldn't really..." Sansa Stark couldn't help but ask.
She had been in King's Landing for too short a time. People who lived permanently in King's Landing knew that Renly and Ser Loras were extremely close, practically inseparable.
"Hahaha, what's wrong with that? Shouldn't we embrace everything with an open attitude? Sansa, you're still too young; you don't know the diversity of society," Renly laughed.
"If you want to see for yourself, I can take you to broaden your horizons!" Renly continued.
"Baelish's Brothel has everything, you know! Beyond your imagination."
Sansa Stark quickly said, "Please excuse me, allow me to take my leave."
Watching Sansa Stark flee in fright, Renly burst into laughter. Afterward, he wrapped his arm around a male servant and entered a room.
When Sansa Stark returned home, she saw a rapier stuck in the door of Arya's room, along with a letter.
This was the letter Arya wrote to her.
The letter stated that Syrio had taken Arya elsewhere for training. He planned to take Arya traveling through the Free Cities to increase her knowledge and courage.
A Braavos merchant ship leaving the King's Landing dock carried Syrio and Arya, both dressed in common clothes, standing at the bow. After glancing back at King's Landing, Arya entered the cabin.
"Why didn't you formally bid farewell to your brothers and sisters?" Syrio asked.
"There's nothing to say. We'll see each other again eventually," Arya said calmly.
"What about Mufasa? Don't you want to see him again?" Syrio continued to ask.
"I will see him again later. I believe he won't die," Arya said.
"So you left behind that valyrian steel rapier, Needle!" Syrio asked.
"Having a sewing Needle is enough for me," Arya said.
The ship rocked slightly and began to move.
Meanwhile, in a tree hollow somewhere Beyond the Wall.
Mufasa was still wrapped into a sphere by tree roots. After an unknown amount of time, the sphere of roots loosened, leaving only one root, thin as a willow branch, wrapped around Mufasa's left wrist.
The other end of the root connected to Brynden Rivers' body; it was a special root extending from his chest.
The root's color was actually green, seemingly transmitting something to Mufasa.
"I'm hungry! Is there anything to eat, Lord Bloodraven?" Mufasa asked.
Brynden Rivers did not respond, but the Children of the Forest brought Mufasa some food.
Nuts and frozen fish.
Mufasa looked at the Children of the Forest; they seemed to regard him with increased respect.
"It must be because I am going to become the next Greenseer! That's why they are showing me more respect," Mufasa thought to himself.
