Ava felt so much discomfort sitting down and the food she had nodded to the air hostess to bring in now lay on the table. She couldn't eat it. The lasagna made her almost throw up on herself. Was this how pregnancy was?
She rubbed her stomach, a new action now she had activated in herself. She was hungry and that was playing with her head. Before now she had an ulcer where the doctor advised her to eat more healthy food and not takeouts and snacks. But how?
Can a poor person feeding off of cleaning, bartending, and waitressing feed and also pay rent? No, that was impossible. She rarely ate, not even from the loss of food on her table but from the lack of appetite for food; however , now the craving for food was nothing compared to a vampire locked away for thousands of years craving fresh blood.
"Ah" she moaned, clutching her stomach. In a rush to flee, she had forgotten too many things like eating, quitting her job, talking to the landlord and many other things. Her stomach growled and she looked out the window at the clouds.
She would miss her girlfriends at the bartending place. That was the one job that paid more from the tips that was why she stayed at it most. She yawned and stretched. Maybe sleeping would be good for hunger.
Arranging the place for sleeping, she covered the plate of food, not like she was going to eat it but that was reflex speaking. She always covered the drinks in the bar and her food when she didn't eat it at home, not letting it waste.
She lay down and exhaled. This was comfortable. Dragging the blanket up her body she yawned and slept off. She woke up to the sound of a soft knock on the little door of her room. She yawned, standing up reluctantly and opening it.
Welcomed by the sight of the air hostess who informed her they were going to be landing soon. She arranged her things, holding her hand bag to her side waiting.
The eagerness to land was so strong, that she smiled, stomping her feet on the floor. She was so happy. An announcement came in that they would be landing in two minutes.
In what felt like forever the plane hit the tarmac and she breathed out. Gosh the smell alone was enough to ease her muscles. She stood up after they announced they could start leaving.
Opening the door, she slammed into a hard body, lifting her head. She was greeted with stunning familiar blue eyes and her lips pulled up in sneer. Hormones. Yeah, she was blaming it on the hormones as they said, pregnancy does a lot.
"Excuse me" she said coolfully, like she hadn't just sneered at a stran—no he wasn't a stranger. He had made her feel less of herself when she offered to clean him up.
Anyone that made her feel that way had become her mortal enemy. She huffed, trying to bypass him since he practically blocked her path.
She sighed, relenting as a mirthless smile pulled up on her lips "Can you please let me go. I have an important place to be" like going to eat now. She almost said.
Oh Gosh
He moved towards her and she stepped back, her hand raised in between them as she pushed him with all her strength but that felt like a feather touched him as he chuckled lightly making Ava squint her eyes.
Lord have mercy, was he laughing right now?
"Ok rich boy" she started, tracing his body with her eyes, he looked like it with the coat and expensive looking suit worn inside "I know that I mistakenly poured my coffee on your jacket and I'm sorry but I don't have money to pay right now. I already gave you the last important thing I own, my handkerchief. So please let me move now" that was her mother's and she'd given it away.
She stepped around, trying to maneuver under his arm propped on the chair but he stopped her by holding onto her arm and that was the time the scion of the devil decided to alert her he/she hasn't eaten.
Yeah she was hungry. She smiled as her eyes pleaded with him to let her go as it went to his hand on her arm. "Let me treat you to dinner," he said.
Has it been that obvious? the growl from her stomach
She looked outside the nearest window and that was when she knew it was evening, her lips thinned as she contemplated. She not only wanted to eat but sleep after that like the baby in her tummy.
She didn't have the energy to quarrel or talk and didn't even know if the supposed person she had plans to meet up with was available right now but still "yes" she acquiesced.
She inwardly scolded herself as she followed him out of the plane and they went through all the process and got into his awaiting Escalade. Typical Ava would never follow anyone but would avoid such, like a plague. But right now she wasn't typical.
As she leaned on the window staring outside, she smiled, she had missed her hometown. Everything was still the same although a thing or two had been moved around but she nonetheless felt the deep connection. She rubbed her stomach watching people go home after the day's activities.
"Are you really that hungry?" A smooth voice so close reminded her she wasn't alone in this car. Still rubbing her stomach, she faced him "Yes. I'm really that hungry" she couldn't tell anyone she was pregnant.
He hummed and the place returned to its quietness however she relaxed this time not returning to stare out the window. Her mind was thinking about breaking such news to her friend.
They arrived at a restaurant and she almost squeaked at the sight. She knew the restaurant like the back of her hand, she frequented this place when she was here.
As they walked to the door, another couple were already marching up to come out so they had to retreat with Ava stumping her leg impatiently waiting, the door opened to a familiar face and her eyes popped out.
"Amy"
"Ava"
