On the snowy ground.
The figure wearing Robert Arryn's young face knelt hard in the snow.
Those eyes, moments ago filled with ancient darkness, held nothing now but fear and confusion.
The Three-Eyed Raven. An existence that had lurked beneath the weirwood roots for a thousand years, certain it was the architect of fate itself.
In the first second of its new life, it had become a prisoner.
Its soul was pinned inside this undead shell by a cold, irresistible will , locked so tight it couldn't even flinch.
It could feel everything.
Every thought. Every flicker of intention. All of it under that young man's control.
One stray notion from him, and the Raven's soul would be ground into nothing.
It couldn't understand.
Why had it misjudged him so badly?
Why could Lynn create White Walkers?
Why had every scheme, every contingency, every piece it had placed across centuries of planning , why did all of it look so laughable now? So childish?
"Now." Lynn's voice was easy, almost amused. "Do you still think I'm stupid?"
"My new slave?"
No... I dare not...
The thought reached Lynn's mind in broken fragments, quiet as something crushed underfoot.
It was full of terror.
Master... I was wrong...
Lynn didn't bother responding. The old monster was thoroughly broken. Whatever other magical knowledge it still held, he'd pull that out later.
He stood quietly in the snow and sank his attention into the system panel.
A string of notifications surfaced.
[Killed Roose Bolton, destroyed House Bolton , Experience Points rewarded: 6,234]
[Current total Experience Points: 26,217.2 + 6,234 = 32,451.2]
He looked at the numbers without feeling much of anything. Experience Points were just a number at this point.
His real prize was the two magic seeds the Old Gods had given him.
"System."
He called it silently.
"Upgrade Ice Magic to Legendary."
[Confirm: consume 5,000 Experience Points to upgrade Ice Magic to Legendary?]
"Confirm."
The word had barely formed when it hit him.
An understanding so complete it had no name washed through his entire soul in a single instant.
Before, his Ice Magic had been using ice.
Now, he was ice.
He could feel the tremor of every water droplet suspended in the air. He could hear glaciers groaning from ten-thousand-year depths. He could touch the world's most fundamental law , the law of cold, of stillness, of absolute silence.
The cold of the entire North, of the entire world, became an extension of his body.
If he chose, he could bury King's Landing in midsummer snowfall. He could turn the Dornish sands to ice under a blazing sun.
That was Legendary.
Word becomes law.
Lynn pressed down the tremor in his chest and shifted his attention to the two new skills.
[Natural Magic (Beginner): 1/10]
[Melody Magic (Beginner): 1/10]
"System. Upgrade Natural Magic and Melody Magic. Both to Legendary."
[Current Experience Points: 27,451.2. Required to reach Legendary: Beginner 10 + Proficient 100 + Skilled 500 + Expert 1,000 + Master 2,000 + Legendary 5,000 = 8,610. Total cost for both: 17,220.]
[Confirm: consume 17,220 Experience Points to upgrade Natural Magic and Melody Magic to Legendary?]
"Confirm."
BOOM——!!!
If the Ice Magic upgrade had been deep and cold, a quiet, vast understanding flooding in like a tide, then this was something else entirely.
Two completely different floods of information detonated inside his mind at once, like two enormous symphonies crashing in from opposite directions.
He heard things.
The wind, singing. The earth, breathing. The quiet joy of every blade of grass pushing up through frozen soil.
He heard the ancient wisdom the weirwoods had been collecting for ten thousand years, layered and deep and patient as stone.
His soul unraveled into countless roots and pressed down into the living pulse of all Westeros at once.
Then the second wave hit.
War drums. The long, defiant cry of horns.
The roar of soldiers charging into the line. A girl's voice, gentle by a campfire, singing a love song to the dark.
Emotion given form. Will meeting will head-on. A power that could lift a coward's heart into reckless courage , or hollow out a hero until only despair remained.

Lynn opened his eyes slowly.
The world looked different now.
He raised one hand, palm down toward the frozen ground buried under thick snow.
No chant. No incantation.
He simply had a thought.
Hum,
A ring of soft green light, visible to the naked eye, spread outward from his palm like ripples across still water.
Wherever it passed, snow melted at a pace you could watch. The black soil beneath, frozen solid for months, emerged into the open air.
Then something happened that had no business happening.
Countless green shoots came bursting out of the frozen earth, fighting each other to the surface.
They grew fast. They unfurled. In the span of a few breaths, they spread a living green carpet across the ground at Lynn's feet.
A few pale blue winter roses bloomed quietly among them , the kind found only in the deepest reaches of the North. Their petals carried tiny beads of ice that caught the light, and they breathed out a faint, cold fragrance into the sharp air.
Behind Lynn, Miranda had stopped functioning entirely.
Her mouth was open. Her eyes were round and wouldn't close. She stared at the patch of grass that had appeared from nowhere under her boots.
What is this?
Magic?
No. This wasn't magic. This was a miracle.
The kind of miracle only sung about in the oldest ballads. The kind that belonged to the Old Gods alone.
She stared at his back.
Awe and something fierce and consuming churned together in her eyes.
What had she pledged herself to?
Lynn didn't notice her staring. He bent down, picked a winter rose from the grass, and tucked it behind Miranda's ear , which was going stiff from the cold. Then his fingertip traced lightly across the back of her hand.
There was a small wound there. She'd drawn the bow too fast during the standoff with the Three-Eyed Raven and worn the skin raw.
A thread of green light, barely visible, rose from Lynn's fingertip.
Miranda felt a flush of warmth on her hand.
She looked down without thinking. The wound was gone. Skin smooth and clean, as though it had never been there at all.
Her head snapped up. She looked at him like she was seeing something she had no framework to understand.
Lynn only smiled, then turned back toward his new slave, still kneeling in the snow.
This time, he didn't reach for any magic.
He just opened his mouth and hummed , a short, aimless little melody. Barely a tune at all. The kind of thing a mother hums at a cradle without even thinking about it.
The moment it reached Miranda's ears, a warmth she couldn't name poured through her from head to foot.
The awe she'd felt, the edge of fear , gone. Both of them, gone.
What filled their place came from somewhere beneath thought. Warmth. Stillness. Something that felt like safety and like home.
She looked at Lynn's back and knew, simply, that she wanted to stand there forever. To draw her bow for him. To kill for him. To give him everything she had.
Lynn kept humming.
Then the melody turned.
The warmth vanished. The stillness curdled. What replaced it was low, suffocating , something oppressive and decaying, a sound like despair given a voice.
The Three-Eyed Raven began to shake.
It felt its soul plunge into filth. Into a cold swamp, with countless frozen hands pulling it down, down, down. Every fragment of hope it still held, every piece of wisdom, every shred of pride , the melody ate through all of it, slow and patient, until nothing was left.
Nothing except despair. Nothing except submission.
The Raven lifted its head. On Robert Arryn's young face, two lines of black tears ran down.
Master... please... stop...
Lynn stopped humming.
He looked at what he'd made and felt a quiet satisfaction settle in his chest.
Solid results.
Natural Magic could grow crops. Heal wounds. Summon vines for field fortifications. Melody Magic was the perfect battlefield layer , buffs for his own forces, pure dread for the enemy.
With these two, alongside Ice Magic already at his command, the army he built would be something this world had never seen. An army that simply did not lose.
"Little crow."
He walked over to the slave who had nothing left in him.
"What else do you know?"
He reached out and patted "Robert Arryn's" head.
"All of it. Give it all to me."
The Three-Eyed Raven shook.
Then Lynn raised his head slowly.
His gaze crossed the Wall , that immense dark line on the horizon , and pushed further, into the frozen dark beyond. Into the lands where winter never ended.
He could feel it.
A vast, cold will of death. Moving fast. Closing on the Wall from the deepest heart of the Lands of Always Winter.
The Night King.
It had noticed. Its old enemy was gone, and it had noticed.
