"AR, how long will it take to create a sentient race?"
{Results vary.}
"Right, that should've been obvious."
After using the power of wind he had picked up a couple dozen lizard creatures scurrying on the surface. Even he was surprised they were still alive after enduring the increased pressure over the years of him studying the laws of space.
He figured that if they could survive this they could survive anything.
So he took these lizards and used the power of wind to send them to the 6-star spirit vein along with plenty of food and bugs.
Another group of creatures he was surprised to see survive.
"You know what they say, cockroaches will survive the end of the world."
Although these aren't actually cockroaches. They're more like centipedes with stingers that spray acid.
Either way, whoever evolves first wins.
He didn't care who became the ruling party.
...
Several years passed by and John was closer and closer to reaching 50% in the laws of space. Sadly that is where things would get harder and harder.
He needed to study more in the laws of physics, topology, geometry, and differential geometry. As well as higher dimensional energy.
The only reason he knew about any of this is with his fancy AR.
The sad part is that he wasn't done with the sciencey bits.
He also needed to study how to create artifacts and treasures using space magic and thinking about philosophical parts of space. Like how great it is and why it's so great. Boring stuff like that.
Fortunately he had the AR' help with all of that. Without this he wouldn't even be at 30%.
His understanding in the other elements were coming along though, thanks to his girls.
He had an average of 30%-45% mastery in most laws. The only thing that alluded him was time, which was a whopping… 0%.
Obviously it'll go up once he studies physics, among other things, but without actually seeing the effects of time going haywire, it won't help him too much.
He also had to study the philosophical aspect of all the other laws he studied.
What does it mean to wield a sword, why are trees important, what's the meaning of life? Those kinds of things.
Speaking of life, once his comprehension in the laws of Life reached 30% he earned another reward. The reward wasn't interesting but it did give a tome related to child bearing and the effects magic can have on a child.
Now THAT gave him an idea.
"AR, can you give me a spell that rushes evolution?"
{Of course. Here is a list of spells for you.}
After a few minutes of browsing he finally found one that suited him perfectly.
{Seed of Culling: Create a seed using the life force of those who have been cursed and damned. Using the power of karma you can reverse the power of the curse or negative mutation to serve as a sacrifice for future generations. The souls of the damned are thrown back into the cycle of reincarnation (or afterlife if they believe in one) with good karma. Requires 10,000 souls to perform.}
"Holy shit balls."
After looking at the spell all he could think about was a certain bloodline.
{Cursed Blood: This is a special bloodline you can grant unlimitedly to anyone born on any of your connected moons or your own world. This bloodline grants the following.
-50% lifespan.
-50% Speed.
-25% Size.
-99,999% Chance of offspring.
-10 Stamina.
50% Softer skin.
Sunlight is lethal to them.
Soft bones.
Marked for an untimely death.}
"That's it!"
John couldn't imagine it. The perfect reversal of the worst bloodline imaginable.
He couldn't imagine the kind of boon he would get from this!
10,000 souls may seem like a lot but after a while these lizards and bugs have bred like crazy. Better yet, he can just go to the surface and use those.
Sadly he could only curse a single race at a time, otherwise he'll have to do 20,000. There's no point in doing that since he'll just receive a spell that would allow him to alter the bloodlines of any and all living creatures he comes across.
It's not exactly the spell he was looking for but this should definitely increase their tiers by 1 if he's lucky. Better yet, perhaps he should throw in that spirit grass. Sure it'll be a waste once he transfers all that excess mana to another site but he might as well go over the top right?
"I wonder if there are any other spells I can use?"
John felt like he was on a roll.
He had the strongest urge to create the most powerful race in the galaxy!
He had a feeling they would be dumb as a rock but that's fine too.
He just ignored that thought until he found another new and interesting spell.
{Transmute keratin: A simple spell that will allow races with a hint of keratin to alter the proteins in their bodies to any other solid material. This includes metal, rocks, crystals, and more. The user of this spell must cast this spell before or during feeding if they wish to feed on solid materials. This is not limited to intelligent species. Many spirit beasts can passively use this spell.}
He wasn't very happy about the fact that he couldn't cast the spell on others or that it wasn't an active one but he figured it would be great down the road once he gains more qi.
Thankfully spirit beasts are plenty capable of casting spells so he didn't need to hold their hands all the time.
Better yet, since he was on a planet with such high gravity the amount of diamonds he had was incalculable.
'What's more, once I learn how to imbue materials with the power of the law my army of lizard men/bug people will be invincible among their own class!'
After thinking it over he kept looking for more spells. Sadly most spells required enough energy to create an 8-star planet.
There were some interesting ones that caught his eye though.
{Star forge: Place an egg at a safe enough distance to a star in a known location for solar flares. Cast this spell on the egg to make sure it stays in stasis until it collects enough star energy to cause a mutation. Upon the moment of its birth an average baby should already be as strong as a Dragon-rank while being at novice rank.
Warning: 9/10 eggs do not survive.}
"Hmm, I can imagine this will be reserved for a select few. Like royals and nobles. The problem is, will this count for his mission? It's not on the planet so the answer should be no right?" John asked the AR.
{As long as the race consider themselves as natives to that planet, yes.}
John sighed in relief.
That's all that matters.
After browsing through the spell catalog and finding a few good options to try out, John had an epiphany.
"What about genetic engineering?"
{This method also counts. However, you need the supplies and the know-how to alter and improve their DNA.}
John didn't like the sound of that.
He already had enough on his plate, he didn't need anything more to chew on. He thought it would be best if he left it all to the new race or his girls instead.
Actually, learning medicine and learning how to alter DNA seems like it's in the chaos/life department.
Just as he said that he could feel his comprehension in both laws go up.
{Chaos law increased by 0.2%.}
{Life law increased by 0.2%}
After learning that he sent a message to some of his girls to let them know they should try studying medicine and biology.
Fortunately most of that knowledge goes back to him anyway, but in a cleaner and more steady format.
