Chapter 16 - Forever us

The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, painting the apartment in soft gold. Park Ji-Hoon stirred, stretching lazily beside Choi Eun-Seo, who was still curled against him.

"Good morning," he murmured, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"Morning," she replied sleepily, her lips curving into a gentle smile.

The quiet comfort of the morning felt different from Paris, different from the first days back in Korea — calmer, steadier. This was their life now. Their reality.

Ji-Hoon pressed a soft kiss to her temple. "You know, I never thought mornings could feel this perfect."

Eun-Seo nestled closer. "It's perfect because of you."

Domestic Bliss

The couple spent the day like a peaceful routine, small but intimate moments filling their apartment. Ji-Hoon cooked breakfast while Eun-Seo set the table, occasionally stealing bites of his cooking as he playfully scolded her.

"I told you not to eat it all before we sit!" he laughed.

Eun-Seo grinned. "I couldn't help it. You make it too delicious."

After breakfast, they took a stroll through their neighborhood. The streets were familiar, but everything seemed brighter because they were together. Holding hands, laughing quietly, sharing glances — it was ordinary, yet extraordinary.

Rekindling Romance

That evening, Ji-Hoon surprised Eun-Seo with a small bouquet of her favorite flowers — tulips.

"For no reason," he said, handing them to her. "Just to remind you… you're mine."

Eun-Seo's cheeks flushed as she took the flowers. "You're impossible," she teased softly, but her eyes shone with affection.

He leaned closer, lowering his voice. "And you love me anyway."

She laughed softly. "I do."

He pressed his lips to hers — a soft, lingering kiss, full of the intimacy and love that had grown over months of travel, jealousy, confessions, and reassurance.

Building a Life Together

Weeks passed, and life settled into a comfortable rhythm. Ji-Hoon and Eun-Seo balanced work, family, and each other seamlessly. Every challenge, every small misunderstanding, had only strengthened their bond.

One evening, while preparing dinner together, Eun-Seo glanced at Ji-Hoon with a small, playful smirk.

"You know," she said, "you owe me for all the jealousy you caused me back in Paris and at work."

Ji-Hoon laughed, pulling her into a hug from behind. "Then I guess I'll have to make it up to you… every day."

She giggled, leaning into him. "Every day, huh?"

"Yes," he whispered in her ear. "Forever, if you'll let me."

A Promise of Forever

Later, as night fell, they sat on the balcony, overlooking the city lights. Eun-Seo rested her head on Ji-Hoon's shoulder, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her ear.

"I'm so happy," she murmured. "I was scared at first… but now, I feel like I can face anything with you."

Ji-Hoon kissed the top of her head, holding her close. "Nothing will ever come between us. I promise. You are my life, Eun-Seo. My heart, my home, my everything."

Her eyes glistened as she whispered, "And you're mine."

He smiled, brushing his lips gently against hers once more. "Always."

The city lights twinkled below, but all that mattered was each other. Every past misunderstanding, every moment of jealousy, every journey across the world — it had all led to this: a love that was steadfast, mature, and unshakable.

For the first time, Eun-Seo and Ji-Hoon felt the quiet certainty of forever — not in grand gestures, not in foreign cities, but in the ordinary, everyday moments they shared together.

And in that certainty, they found home — in each other.
