Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 : A God’s Gratitude.

"I don't know how you healed Naaza, but as the god of that child, I'm eternally grateful to you." Miach bowed his head politely. He might be one of the few gods in Orario who would do something like this to a mortal.

"No, no… don't be like that, Miach-sama. I just did what I could. And helping Naaza wasn't just out of the goodness of my heart either. We had a deal together. I just fulfilled my side of the deal." Orion instantly shook his head, trying to stop Miach from bowing further.

While Miach himself was a benevolent god, not all deities in Orario were like him. Some might spite Orion just because another god seemed to be bowing to him, out of sheer godly pride.

He didn't want that kind of trouble.

So while he was trying to make Miach raise his head, Hestia on the side was trying to comprehend what exactly was going on.

"What! Orion-kun, since when can you heal someone? You never told me you know potions or healing magic," Hestia pouted, realizing she didn't seem to know about her favorite human as much as she thought she did.

But then she seemed to recall the name Miach had just spoken.

'Naaza.'

Both Hestia and Miach were old friends, even in heaven. She had heard him talk about his child Naaza and the incident where she lost her arm.

At first, of course, she connected the dots—but then her eyes widened.

"Wait… wait, wait! You healed Naaza? The same child who lost her arm, the one you told me about, Miach?" Hestia asked with a flustered face.

"Yes! Your child has completely healed Naaza." Miach gave a big, genuine smile. "It's a miracle. I never thought something like that was possible. Naaza's entire arm has grown back." Miach said, still seemingly unable to believe it.

Hestia gaped at this. 'The entire arm…'

"B-But how?" Hestia snapped at Orion as if she were seeing him for the first time.

In all of Orario, even with magic or godly blessings, regrowing cut-off limbs wasn't possible. That was a miracle only gods with their Arcanum could accomplish.

Hestia's mind trailed back to Marika. 'Was it her…'

All gods and goddesses were required to seal off their Arcanum when they descended to the mortal realm.

However, Hestia had always thought that Marika was the one god who didn't follow this rule. Maybe she found a loophole. The feeling she gave off—that golden aura—that definitely felt like her Arcanum wasn't sealed.

"It's one of my skills. It heals me. I didn't know whether it would do the same for others. I asked Naaza to test it out, and in return, if it worked, she would be healed. Good for both of us that it did." Orion added.

Both Miach and Hestia nodded at that. 'So it was a skill.'

Both once again reassessed Orion's worth. A bright smile appeared on Hestia's face upon realizing just how impressive he was.

"Hmph… I knew Orion is awesome. Just you wait, he will soon become the best adventurer in Orario," Hestia proclaimed proudly.

"But Hestia, I'm a bit dissatisfied with you. You have gotten such an excellent child and you never told me," Miach said good-heartedly.

"Eh~ well, that…" Hestia pursed her lips, her eyes already dodging.

Orion wanted to say it, but he so wished to shout, 'I knew it.'

"Ahem… actually, I'm not in Hestia's Familia, God Miach. I'm a child of Goddess Marika."

Miach blinked, then looked at Hestia as if asking, 'Really? He isn't yours?'

Hestia seemed deflated at that.

Seeing the touchy subject for his otherwise cheerful goddess of hearth, Miach tactically avoided the matter.

"Whatever it is, the fact that you healed and helped one of my children is irrefutable. I'm in your debt, Orion-kun. Please allow me to repay it. My Familia isn't wealthy; however, I have considerable skill in potion making," Miach added.

Hestia added as well. "Don't sell yourself short. Miach is one of the best when it comes to potion making in Orario, Orion." Hestia quickly bounced back from her depression and added with her usual cheerful manner, not letting one of her good friends be underestimated.

Giving a grateful smile at Hestia, Miach continued, "So allow me to provide you with potions. As long as you want, any potion you want from Blue Pharmacy will be free. All on me."

Both Orion and Hestia's eyes widened at that.

"Oh no, you don't have to go that far. It really wasn't that big of a deal. I had the ability to heal, and Naaza seemed to be the first person I met to test it on. That's really just it. No need to offer so much."

"No… please take it, Orion-kun. This is my gratitude. Please accept it." Miach shook his head.

Orion sighed. He might be frugal to the core—that was just his nature—but he wasn't ungrateful. Taking potions for free was too much.

"Hmm, how about this? You give me a good discount. Let me pay at least something, or else I'll feel bad about taking potions from you for free."

Miach meant to shake his head, but seeing the boy's genuine expression, he accepted that arrangement. If he knew that the boy had almost died because of his pharmacy's potion before, that might have given him a stroke.

"By the way, who is this Marika?" Miach finally asked.

—-<>—-

The talk with Miach went well. In fact, all of Hestia's friends were good gods.

On the way back, they were chatting about the Dungeon and how Orion healed Naaza.

It was a good time. Miach had even offered to pay for their bill that night. Both Hestia and Orion argued, but the god wouldn't listen.

"He is a good god, Miach-sama," Orion said while walking back to Hestia's church alongside Hestia.

"Yup, he is a good god. Not like some arrogant gits," Hestia murmured to herself.

"What was that?"

"Nothing~ nothing. By the way, did you know that Miach is also a god of war?"

"What! Really?"

"Yeah, it doesn't seem like it when you look at his personality, does it?" Hestia grinned.

'Wait, does that mean I could have had an excellent teacher—a god at that—who could have taught me swordsmanship, if only I had asked Hestia before going to the Konosuba world?' Orion pursed his lips, shocked.

'Noted. Invest a bit more time in talking and getting to know others from now on,' he belatedly told himself. Honestly, he needed to learn more about the world he lived in.

At that, he thought about asking Miach to teach him later on. It never hurt to improve his swordsmanship. This was his life now.

"By the way, Orion… hmm, do you think your skill can heal a god?" Hestia suddenly asked with a bit of hesitation—and a bit of hope.

"A god?" Orion blinked.

'Can it heal a god?'
