He walked along the seaside, lit by streetlights, all the way towards Viridian Forest.

Gary, with his Eevee, walked with light steps, appearing remarkably refined in the clear moonlight.

How does that saying go? 'A man like jade on the road, a peerless young master in the world...'

"Eevee!" Suddenly, Eevee's ears perked up, and he looked back.

"What's wrong, Eevee?" Gary turned his head curiously.

"Wait a moment!!" A girl with braided pigtails jogged to catch up in the moonlight.

"You're... Professor Cerise's daughter, aren't you? Is something wrong?" Gary tilted his head, asking with a smile.

The 'scoundrel's' smile might have been too charming, as Chloe's face flushed slightly: "That... um... thank you very much for saving our family today!"

"Oh, that," Gary waved his hand, "It was nothing, you don't need to worry about it."

"That... I want to... go with you..." Chloe's words trailed off.

"Chloe, you're still in school, aren't you?" Gary suddenly interrupted.

"Ah? Yes! I'm in the preparatory class at the Pokemon School," Chloe nodded.

"Then, you can't give up halfway," Gary showed an encouraging smile again, "Whether it's traveling or studying at school, it's all a form of self-cultivation."

"Then, Gary, do you like traveling alone?" Chloe asked curiously.

"Not really~" Gary shrugged. "It's just that it's not that easy to meet the right companion."

"The right companion?" Chloe tilted her head.

"Mhm, if two people's goals and direction are exactly the same, then I think traveling together would be a hindrance. If their dreams can complement each other, then that's even better," Gary said with emotion, stroking Eevee's head.

"Then, Gary, what kind of companion do you want?" Chloe asked directly.

Pop! Gary's finger lightly tapped Chloe's forehead. She was startled, then lowered her head, blushing.

"Don't become the person others want you to be; become the person you want to be," Gary smiled as he withdrew his finger, "Once you figure out what you want, perhaps we can travel together too. But, not now."

"I... I understand~" Chloe buried her head, nodding like a quail.

"It's getting late, hurry back. Professor Cerise will be worried," Gary said seriously, hands on his hips.

"Yes!" Chloe nodded, obediently turning to leave.

Gary watched the girl's retreating figure, shaking his head with a light chuckle. He wasn't like Ash, that block of wood; a maiden's heart is always poetry~

"Oh, right! This is for you!" Chloe, who had walked a few steps away, ran back and shoved a pendant into Gary's hand, then ran off without looking back.

Gary curiously opened his hand, and a silver crescent moon feather appeared in his palm.

After running for a long time, Chloe suddenly looked back.

"Ooh~" A clear cry echoed over the sea.

Gary suddenly turned, looking up at the moon behind him, the sea breeze ruffling his hair.

In the moonlight, a silver Pokemon spread its wings and soared high.

From Chloe's perspective, it was exactly the moment the silver Pokemon looked down and Gary looked up.

It was as if the two shared a silent gaze, frozen in time amidst the bright moonlight and the azure waves~

Watching the gradually departing Lugia, Gary smiled slightly. Ash had Ho-Oh's support, and he too had Lugia's favor. This feeling was not bad!

"Gary! I will work hard to find my own direction, wait for me!" Watching the young man walk further away, Chloe clenched her fist slightly.

She jogged all the way home, and the determined girl told her father: "Dad! I want to understand Pokemon a little more!"

Under Professor Cerise's kind smile, his heart bled; his 'little cabbage' seemed impossible to keep...

Bidding farewell to Chloe, Gary continued his journey, soon entering the Viridian Forest.

This section of the forest was a bit longer, so Gary didn't just blindly walk through the night.

He released all three Pokemon, and they walked for about two hours.

Gary arrived at a relatively wide open area.

"Let's rest here tonight."

Scyther chopped wood, Charmander lit the Courtney, and Gary found some dry grass, spreading his sleeping bag on top. The camping setup was complete.

Although he had a tent in his backpack, on such a clear night with bright stars, sleeping directly under the starry sky had its own unique charm.

He heated a cup of milk for himself and cooked some hot porridge for the three Pokemon using milk and Pokemon food.

After dinner, Gary prepared to rest. Eevee consciously burrowed into the sleeping bag to warm it up for Gary. Charmander lay beside the sleeping bag.

Scyther took on the night watch, as he had his special training.

As a master of technique, Scyther was inherently good at combining small skills.

However, to more thoroughly adapt his combat power, Gary's suggestion was critical strikes.

That is, to strengthen the use of Focus Energy.

"Don't treat Focus Energy as your skill; train it to become your instinct."

This was the training goal Gary gave Scyther.

Behind the Courtney, Scyther stood naturally behind Gary, his two scythes hanging naturally, his eyes slightly closed.

Accompanied by even breathing, a layer of white light flickered on and off Scyther's body.

When Focus Energy became Scyther's subconscious instinct, his combat power would also achieve a qualitative leap.

After a peaceful night's sleep, when Gary woke up, Scyther finally stopped his training and, after eating, entered his poké ball to rest.

Gary then continued on his way with Charmander and Eevee.

In the latter half of Viridian Forest, the trees became scarcer, replaced by dense, waist-high grass.

Traveling through here, you had to be careful of wild Pokemon or wild Trainers that might pop out at any moment.

Along the way, several Rattata who tried to steal food had already met their demise under Charmander's Dragon Claw.

It seemed Charmander would soon reach his evolution stage.

Swish! Suddenly, a dark shadow leaped high from the grass: "Take this sword!"

"Eevee, Thunder Shock." Gary didn't hesitate.

Zzzzt~ A bolt of electricity flew out, and the shadow fell to the ground, his two legs still twitching a few times.

Gary leaned closer and saw that it was a chuunibyou samurai boy wearing armor and holding a plastic sword~

"What are you doing?" Gary asked curiously.

"Good question!" The samurai boy rolled to his feet, pointing his toy sword at Gary: "Are you from Pallet Town?"

"Yes, that's right. Do you have any advice?" Gary admitted generously.

"Hahaha, then it's confirmed! I've fought with two Trainers from Pallet Town who passed through here before. How about it, do you want to battle me?" The samurai boy challenged with burning enthusiasm.

Gary stared curiously at the other party's chubby face: "So, you got utterly crushed twice, and you want to get even with me?"

What a joke! I, Gary, the No. 1 Trainer in Pallet Town, you want to get even with me?

Exposed, the samurai boy's old face flushed: "Enough talk! If you want to fight, then fight. If not, that's fine too, just admit defeat and I'll let you pass!"

Gary almost laughed in anger. You're asking for a beating, aren't you? Come on, come on, I'll give you a buff on your head...

"I generally don't refuse battles that come to me. Come on." Gary beckoned with his finger.

"Good! I hope you don't disappoint me!" The samurai boy put away his toy sword and took out a poké ball.

The two pulled apart, and the battle officially began!

"Go, Pinsir!" The opponent's poké ball opened, and a very strong Pinsir appeared before Gary.

"Hmph~ I didn't expect you to have this kind of Pokemon." Gary raised an eyebrow.

"How about it? If you're scared, just give up!" The samurai boy said smugly.

"Scared? You're probably overthinking it..." Gary pouted. He had just scanned it, and this Pinsir was only a pathetic Level 14! No wonder Leaf and the other person easily handled him.

"Enough talk, come on!" The samurai boy shouted impatiently.

"Heh heh If you're willing to die, I'm willing to bury you Charmander, go." Gary tilted his head, signaling.

"Wah!" Charmander puffed out his chest and stepped forward.

"Strike first! Pinsir, use Tackle!" The samurai boy launched the first attack.

However... Gary shook his head speechlessly. So slow, and charging at a Fire-type Pokemon's face, are you trying to give away a free kill?

"Charmander, Flamethrower!" Gary couldn't be bothered to argue; he just wanted to finish quickly and go to Pewter City.

"Wah!" Facing the charging Pinsir, Charmander performed a nimble backflip, then opened his mouth wide, and a scorching blaze erupted.

Boom!! Pinsir was directly critically hit head-on!!

Bang! A one-shot kill, Pinsir, covered in black smoke, fell directly to the ground, unconscious, and conveniently gave Charmander a wave of experience points.

"How could this be?!" The samurai boy was stunned. With the previous two people, he had at least lasted four or five rounds; this time, he was instantly defeated?!

"Well done, Charmander." After encouraging Charmander, Gary shook his head and directly turned to leave: "If you want to train, you should interact with different opponents. Hiding in the forest and training in isolation will limit your potential."

Listening to Gary's advice, the samurai boy understood. Indeed, he still needed to battle more Pallet Town Trainers.

He decided: continue to ambush the next one here!
