Rose woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. She rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the sleep. She looked around the dorm room, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. The room was cozy, with four beds and a dresser for each of them. Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Olivia were still fast asleep.
Rose got out of bed and began to get dressed. She had to be careful not to wake the others. As she was putting on her uniform, she noticed a piece of paper on her desk. It was a note from Aunt Nelson.
"Welcome to Milestone College, Rose. I hope you're adjusting well. Please meet me in my office after breakfast. -Aunt Nelson"
Rose wondered what the meeting could be about. She tucked the note into her pocket and headed to the cafeteria for breakfast.
The cafeteria was bustling with students. Rose spotted Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Olivia sitting at a table and joined them. They were chatting about their schedules for the day. Rose listened intently, trying to get a sense of the class layout and the teachers.
After breakfast, Rose excused herself to meet Aunt Nelson. She made her way to the office, feeling a bit nervous. What did Aunt Nelson want to talk to her about?
As she entered the office, Aunt Nelson smiled warmly. "Ah, Rose, thank you for coming. Please, have a seat."
Rose sat down, trying to gauge Aunt Nelson's mood. "Is everything okay, ma'am?"
Aunt Nelson leaned back in her chair. "Yes, everything is fine. I just wanted to talk to you about your... situation."
Rose's heart skipped a beat. Did she know about her lack of magic? "What do you mean, ma'am?"
Aunt Nelson leaned forward, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "Rose, I know you're different. I know you don't have magic. But I want you to know that you're not alone here. There are others like you, and we're here to support you."
Rose's eyes widened in surprise. How did Aunt Nelson know? "Thank you, ma'am," she stammered.
Aunt Nelson smiled. "Just be careful, Rose. There are those who wouldn't understand. But I believe in you. You have a lot of potential."
Rose left the office feeling a mix of emotions. She was relieved that Aunt Nelson knew about her lack of magic and was willing to support her. But she was also more aware of the potential dangers of being discovered.
As she walked to her first class, Rose couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. She glanced around, but there was no one suspicious nearby.
When she arrived at her classroom, she spotted the three Princes - Thomas, Lucas, and Michael. They were indeed impressive, with their confident smiles and powerful auras. Rose felt a shiver run down her spine as they glanced at her.
Rebecca leaned over and whispered, "Don't worry, Rose. They're not as bad as they seem. Just be yourself, and you'll be fine."
Rose nodded, trying to look confident. But as the class began, she couldn't help but feel like she was in over her head.
The teacher, Professor Everwood, was a tall, imposing figure with a stern expression. "Welcome, students. I'm your Magic Theory teacher. I'll be teaching you the fundamentals of magic and how to control your abilities."
As the Professor began to lecture, Rose couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She didn't know how she was going to keep up with the class, especially without any magic. But she was determined to try her best and prove to herself and others that she was capable of succeeding, even without magic.
The class flew by in a blur, and before Rose knew it, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. As the students filed out of the classroom, Rose gathered her things and followed them.
She was lost in thought, trying to process everything that had happened, when she bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, looking up to see who she had bumped into.
It was one of the Princes, Thomas. He looked down at her with a mixture of surprise and amusement. "You're the new girl, aren't you?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
Rose felt her face heat up as she nodded. "Yes, I'm Rose Anderson."
Thomas smiled, and for a moment, Rose forgot to breathe. "Welcome to Milestone College, Rose. I'm Thomas."
As he walked away, Rose let out a sigh of relief. She had a feeling that this was just the beginning of a wild ride.
Rose's next class was Potions, and she was nervous. She had never been good with mixing things, and the idea of creating potions seemed daunting. But as she walked into the classroom, she was surprised to see that it was actually quite interesting.
The teacher, Professor Silvermist, was a kind old woman with a warm smile. "Welcome, students. Today we're going to be brewing a simple potion. I want you to work in pairs and follow the instructions on the board."
Rose was paired with Rebecca, and they quickly got to work. Rose was surprised to find that she was actually enjoying herself. She was good at following instructions, and her lack of magic didn't seem to be a hindrance.
As they worked on the potion, Rose couldn't help but chat with Rebecca. "So, what's it like being a student here?" she asked.
Rebecca smiled. "It's great. The teachers are all really nice, and the students are mostly friendly. Although, there are some who can be a bit...prickly."
Rose raised an eyebrow. "Prickly?"
Rebecca leaned in. "Yeah, some of the students here can be a bit... entitled. But don't worry, we'll stick together."
Rose smiled, feeling grateful for her new friend. "Thanks, Rebecca. That means a lot to me."
As the class came to a close, Professor Silvermist announced that they would be having a potions competition in a few weeks. "The winner will receive a prize, and I'll be announcing the details soon. So, start practicing, everyone!"
Rose felt a surge of excitement. She had always loved competitions, and this sounded like a great opportunity to prove herself. She turned to Rebecca. "Do you think we could win?"
Rebecca grinned. "I think we have a good chance. Let's practice together and see what we can do."
Rose nodded, feeling a sense of determination. She was going to work hard and make sure that she and Rebecca did well in the competition.
As they left the classroom, Rose felt a sense of belonging that she hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe this school wasn't going to be so bad after all.
But as she walked down the hallway, she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. She glanced around, but there was no one there.
Shrugging it off, Rose continued on her way. She had a feeling that this was going to be a year to remember.
