Herocity, Central Square — Days After the Last Events
The sky remained gray, heavy, as if the world itself mourned. In the central square, a silent crowd stretched as far as the eye could see. Flags from every nation fluttered in the wind, and guild leaders, government representatives, and heroes from all corners of the planet occupied the reserved seats. At the center, on a monumental stage, rested Ray Stormbreak's crystalline coffin, wrapped in a golden aura sealed by Lorien. Every ray of light that touched the coffin seemed to make the entire world hold its breath.
Inavy stood apart from the crowd, staring at the overcast sky. The weight of Ray's absence pressed down on his shoulders, heavier than any armor he had ever worn. His eyes were tired, swollen from the tears he had tried to hold back through the night.
Rose approached, her steps firm but gentle, placing a hand on his shoulder."Inavy, are you okay?"
He turned his face, attempting a small, sad smile."If I said yes, I'd be lying… but I'm getting better."
A deafening silence fell between them. The cold wind carried the memories of every battle, every laugh, every lost moment. Inavy took a deep breath and finally spoke:"Rose… thank you. For everything. For everything you did to cheer me up… If it weren't for you, I would have given up being a hero. Thank you so much."
Rose blushed, surprised and moved at the same time."I-It's nothing… You would've done the same for me…"
They looked at each other for long seconds, a silent understanding passing between them. Tiana, Inavy's mother, watched from afar, her heart tight but a proud smile on her face. My son… you have good companions, she thought.
Meanwhile, on the stage, speakers took turns, their voices trembling but filled with respect and conviction. Every word resonated through the crowd, reminding everyone who Ray Stormbreak was.
Lorien Valtier stepped onto the stage. His blue eyes shone even through the tears he did not try to hide. His face, marked by grief, reflected the loss of a master, a friend, and a pillar."Ray Stormbreak…" he began, his voice heavy with emotion."He was not just the strongest hero in this world. He was our North. The flame that lit the path when everything seemed dark. He was courage incarnate, hope made flesh."
He took a deep breath, looking at Inavy, Tiana, and Ron, as if trying to sustain them with his own strength."And even now… even in death… Ray still guides us. He's still here. Because Ray never stepped back from pain. Never hesitated in the face of the impossible. He advanced… always. And when fate tried to bring him down… Ray rose. And he fought until the very last second."
Lorien's voice faltered for a moment, breaking, but he continued:"We didn't just lose a brother. We lost the pillar that held this world's hope. But he didn't leave us empty… He left us a promise. A path. A mission. And I vow… as long as I breathe… Ray Stormbreak will never be forgotten. Because his legacy… lives in each of us."
Diana Flamesoul followed. Her voice trembled, struggling to hold back tears as she gazed at the coffin wrapped in light."Ray… he was my mentor, but also my beacon. He believed in me before I believed in myself. He taught me that being a hero isn't about winning battles… but protecting lives, even when it costs your own."
She closed her eyes, silent tears streaming down her cheeks."For many here, Ray was a father. For others, a brother. For all… he was the heart of the Phoenix. And today… this heart has stopped. But the fire he lit in us… will never go out."
She lifted her head, her gaze intense."With my body, with my soul, with everything I am… I swear to honor his sacrifice. I swear to carry his legacy. I swear to fight for what he believed in… until my last breath."
When Tiana stepped onto the stage, the collective breath of the crowd became heavier. Her red eyes and broken smile spoke of deep pain and eternal love."Ray always said the greatest proof of love isn't pretty words or promises… but sacrifice. Putting another's life above your own. And he did exactly that. Until the very last moment."
She paused, feeling each word tear through her soul."He didn't die because he was strong… Ray died because he loved. Loved this world. Loved each one of us. And I… I have never known anyone capable of loving so fiercely."
Her hand went to her chest, as if she could still feel Ray there."Heroes aren't just made of power… Ray Stormbreak proved that heroes are made of heart. And his… was pure, brave, beautiful."
Silence fell again. Thousands of hearts beat in unison, feeling every word.
Now it was Inavy's turn. He stepped onto the stage, a black overcoat enveloping his silhouette. Each step echoed like silent thunder. He stopped before the coffin, took a deep breath, and began to speak, his voice trembling, eyes red from crying:
"Ray… he taught me everything a hero needs to know. But before that… he taught me what a man must be. Not strong. Not invincible. But kind. Just. Loyal."
Each word seemed to weigh tons on his chest."He gave me a home when I had nothing. He gave me love when I thought I didn't deserve it. Ray was the best father a son could ever wish for. The best."
A sob escaped his throat."Days ago… we had a father-to-son conversation. One of those you keep forever. And now… he's no longer here. I wanted to believe it was a nightmare… but it's not."
He closed his eyes, tears flowing."But Ray left me something. A lesson that burns inside me: True heroes are those who give their lives to protect what they love most. And Ray… Ray loved us. He loved this world. He loved every person here."
He pointed to his chest, symbolically tearing his own heart open."He proved it with his own blood. He didn't say it… he did it. And for that… I cannot fail. I will not fail."
Inavy fell to his knees, his voice filled with pain and determination:"If one day the world is in danger again… I will be there. Even alone. Even broken. Even if I die trying."
He lifted his face, tears still shining, but an unbreakable fire burning in his eyes:"Ray… I promise I will protect what you protected. I will finish this war. And I will never… NEVER… step back."
His fist struck his chest."For the Stormbreak blood… FOR OUR BLOOD… I PROMISE!"
The silence that followed was overwhelming. A timid applause echoed, followed by a far-off mocking voice:"Bravo… bravo… bravo!"
But before any reaction could spread, a strange sound echoed through the speakers. A low, distorted, sinister voice:"Heroes… I hope you are all well."
A shadow writhed, crawling toward the microphone, and the voice laughed:"Today is a sad day… but also glorious. Glory… to Darkness."
Inavy narrowed his eyes:"Kelvin??"
But the hooded figure began to laugh. Kelvin's face was there… but his eyes were red, and the voice… deeper.
"That's right, boy… I AM TYRUS."
A murmur of shock swept through the square. Lorien rose abruptly, ready to fight, but Tyrus's overwhelming aura forced everyone to kneel — except Lorien and Inavy.
Diana whispered, terrified:"What… what kind of aura is that?"
Tyrus smiled, demonic:"I haven't come to destroy… yet. I came to declare war. A war between me and the Heir of Chaos."
He turned to Inavy:"Inavy Stormbreak."
The name "Chaos" echoed in everyone's hearts, heavy as a curse.
"Boy… this will be a battle between gods. And I give you three years. Three years to prepare… before I destroy everything you love."
Shadows engulfed the stage, and a deadly silence remained.
Darius murmured:"This… this is bad."
Lorien replied, low but firm:"The war… has begun."
