On the way back to my house, Layla spoke up again after a while. "You know I'm not very comfortable with this situation, right?"
"Yeah. I gathered that."
"I'm not stupid enough to not realize that you are doing all of this for my sake."
"I guess not, huh."
Layla smacked my shoulder and said, "You guess not? You better know I'm not."
"Right, right. You're far too smart to accept help."
"Charity. I like working for what I get."
"And that's a good thing."
"Yeah, I know that. But I think that it is important to talk about one thing first."
"Whats that?"
"I don't want to feel like I owe you anything nor do I want to feel like your employee, especially if this turns into anything more. So I say we pump the brakes on us until I manage to make enough to feel more like a partner, and less like a transaction."
I felt a small pinch in my chest but what she said makes sense.
"Ok, if that's what you want to do."
"Yeah, I do. I want to prove myself and get validation for the life I have lived."
"Thats understandable."
As we made the remainder of our way back I started thinking. What was the point? I mean, I wanted to help her out, I didn't really expect anything in return, but stopping the developing relationship… Let's see how that goes.
I plan to keep on flirting and having a good time, but I also want to respect her wishes, so I won't push anything.
Perhaps spending some time together working on cars would help change her mind.

Once we made it back to my house it was time for this date to end.
I didn't really know how to end it, because of the way the conversation ended. So I just started opening the door to get out.
When I did so, Layla grabbed my arm and pulled me back. She gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and said, "I had a fun time and I'm looking forward to spending more time with you going forward."
I smirked and looked back, "Yeah, me too." and with that I got out of the car. I stepped away from the car and watched her back out of the driveway.
When she shifted into gear she looked back and waved good bye, I also waved back.
Once she was out of view I continued to stand in the driveway looking into the distance. Then I laughed and said aloud, "Wow, that was a rollercoaster of emotions and wit. Man, I'm tired."
After that I turned and went inside. I changed my clothes and brushed my teeth, then went straight to sleep.
Early the next morning after only sleeping a few hours I woke up and looked at the clock.
9:00 am.
"Shit…"
I quickly rolled out of bed and pulled the covers into place before rushing to the bathroom. In the bathroom I splashed water on my face and used some mouthwash before heading to the kitchen to grab some water.
While in the kitchen downing a glass of water I saw my mom walk by having clearly just woken up.
I asked, confused, "don't you have to work today?"
My mom turned and looked at me confused, "Today's Sunday."
"Oh… yeah it is, isn't it." I sighed and continued, "Well I have other things I can work on."
I went to my office and saw the various contraptions and devices laying around my office. Ugh, I so don't want to deal with this clutter. There is just so much crap just laying around.
You know what, it's whatever. I'll deal with it later. I grabbed the AR glasses and put them on while using blue tooth to use my phone's keyboard to type up some documents related to the car flipping business.
I'm going to need to start a company, get the funds together, negotiate the rent down, fix up the warehouse, order the fabrication machines, get more computers. Ugh, there really is so much to do and I don't have nearly enough money for all of this.
I will need to see how much I have at the end of the week first. Right now the business account has $45,952.01. I know I will have a lot more than that by the end of the week because the data I have been collecting on the other volatile stocks should be ready to go tomorrow.
Right now I need to relax, clean up the trash and boxes laying around. Then watch some tv while the computers download more data, the drone flies outside and I change the battery every so often.
I just need to have an efficient relaxing day in preparation for the big day I'll have tomorrow.
I picked up the boxes and trash, I went outside to throw them into the garbage bin. When I was outside I looked out across the backyard and saw the solar panels and satellites basking in the sun.
Gasp.
I completely forgot to upgrade them yesterday!

I hurried out into the yard and started upgrading them. Well I should still be able to upgrade them again by the end of the day.
I went back inside to get the drone ready for a day of idle hovering to earn experience. While I was doing that I noticed that while the drone had been upgraded the batteries had not. It seems that the 3 batteries and charging dock were a set item that upgraded together, while the drone was its own separate item.
So I upgraded the batteries and placed one into the drone. The batteries now had a 40 odd minute life, effectively doubling its charge capacity.
The drone itself that had been upgraded had a better camera and longer travel distance. Since both the speed and receiver range had gotten way better. The receiver range had doubled to 16 miles and the max speed reached 100 miles per hour.
Now let's start this relaxing day.
