Chapter 1 - chapter one

Note: I'm writing this here before officially starting the chapter so that you, my dear reader can be aware of the type of book this is. Its going to be dark, well to an extent and this chapter is dark and will be uncomfortable for some, if not a lot of people. I actually had contemplated if I should post this or not but I was eventually convinced to. So, if you cannot or you are not the type to read dark things, I recommend you don't read this but if you are like me and you enjoy a good dark romance, let's go on this dark, light journey together

One word, that was all it took to get people moving. That was power, the power I wielded, and I basked in the reverie of it.

"Let me go!" My attention was drawn back to the red-haired woman crying, all snot and tears bound in front of me.

She was almost naked now, bruised and beaten up. A grin snaked up my lips.

"You look so fucking pathetic right now, woman. Where did all the bravado of three days ago vanish to?"

She looked up, blinking the never-ending tears away. Her eyes fell before they could meet mine.

Her shoulders heaved, and she trembled. She seemed to be doing everything not to fall over, not like she would ever fall with the people holding her.

"I'll do anything..." She said softly.

Raising her head up to finally meet my eyes, she spoke again. "I'll do anything you want! I'll get you any document needed to take you higher." Her eyes still had that fire that disgusted me. She was taunting me.

I said nothing.

"Isn't that what all this is about? Mere pieces of paper? Since you're so childish, you would end a life over a single piece of paper, I'll give them to you."

"You!"

She smirked, wincing when the hands tightened around her shoulders. Even though she was completely helpless, she still had the guts to taunt me.

I needed those documents, and I needed them terribly.

"Documents? Paper? You think that's what this is about?" I lied through my teeth.

She rolled her eyes, almost like she had been expecting anything I said.

"You men are really scumbags, ruled by nothing but the thing in between their legs."

She gave that smirk again, and I lost it. I stood, taking slow strides towards her, racking my brain for the worst possible thing that was done to condescending bitches like her.

I crouched to her level. She smelled of blood and sweat, and something else, Cognac?

"You want me to spread my legs, right? I don't do it, but I'll do it just for you. Everyone will understand why you were obsessed with me since my body is tea." She flashed a bloody smile. "I'll make you feel good tonight, baby."

She wasn't wrong. Her body could drive any man mad. Her red hair and tanned skin glowed like diamonds in the night. Her forest green eyes were the perfect spell to trap a soul, her waist was so slim, one of my hands would envelop it completely. But, she couldn't have been more wrong.

"You will spread your legs, Giovanni." I finally said, standing up. "Release her.." I ordered the men holding her, and they obeyed immediately.

She stood up and flexed her arms, smiling in relief, I could tell.

"Where are we going to do it. I also need to shower unless you get off bedding a woman covered in bruises.

I said nothing while she spoke.

"You're not saying anything. You do get off blood. Freaking psycho." She chuckled. Turning to the men who held her, she scowled. "I'll be fucking your boss now, learn to show some respect!" She pointed, like a mother warning her children.

It looked very comical.

"You know what, as a bonus, I will give you those documents you want so badly when we're done."

"When we're done?" I finally spoke.

"Yes.." She replied, smiling. "Do you really want me to explain what we're doing again? You suggested it after all."

"What a foolish woman."

"Eh? What do you mean?"

"You will spread your legs just as I have said, but they're not for me." Her smile faltered.

"What are you saying?"

She moved back slowly, hands shaking, her face red as she fought for composure. My smile came back as I stalked closer to her.

"You see, your plan would have worked because I like my partners the way I like my coffee, but I don't like your coffee." My words were funny but she could feel the weight behind them

Her eyes widened.

"So, you will spread those pretty legs, not for me but for the handsome men here."

Her eyes scanned the room. She was counting. There were five men minus myself.

I walked back to my seat. "Put on a show for me, boys."

She screamed and thrashed, scratching and pushing all to no avail. She was too weak to do anything, and that was the plan.

It was going smoothly, until it didn't.

The bitch escaped. With a truck of my goods no less.

I stepped on the brakes. She had run away with a hundred million dollar worth goods and much more.

"We found the truck but she seems to have fled. We're sending out the drones to track her down now, boss. Hopefully, the drones will catch her."

"Hopefully!" I yelled over the phone. "I don't need assurance of hope. I want results, and I want it now!"

"Yes boss! We will get back to you in a few minutes."

The car wasn't moving fast enough , even after increasing the speed to 150mph.

Hitting the wheels in frustration, the accelerator went higher again. Buildings were quickly fading away as I drove but I couldn't care less. I was going to stab that wench to death as soon as I found her.

It had taken a lot of composure and gritting of teeth to get the deal, and she just wanted to take it away because she couldn't handle a few men.

"Have you found the siblings?"

"Not yet. The one we found lives ina difficult country. She did a good job of hiding them perfectly well."

Nothing was going well this night. I had lost two of my men , a truck full of goods and no information seemed to be getting to me.

The roads were free. Maybe that was the only good thing happening to me.

Another call came and I answered immediately.

"Speak." I said.

"We've located her and we've sent men to her location."

"Where is she?"

"You're not far away from her, boss. I'll send the address now."

"Do that, and make sure that there are people there by the time I get there–"

The rest of my words were strangled by the sudden appearance of a biker who, out of nowhere—or rather, due to my own mindlessness on the road—had crashed into me.

I watched as he fell off his bike, his body slammed into the hood of my car, and then rolled over, causing me to press down on the pedals, bringing the car to an abrupt stop.

'Fucking great!'
