Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Great Strength Gorilla! (Part 1)

"Wow—!"

Ning Rongrong stared wide-eyed, pulling Xue Na by the hand as they ran up to the wooden cabin. She reached out and touched the wooden pillars:

"What is this? It's so much better than a tent!"

Xue Na also stood on her tiptoes, gazing up at the house that had appeared out of nowhere. Her small hand gently brushed against the vines on the wall, her eyes filled with wonder as she whispered:

"Is this magic?"

Su Yu walked over, watching the two little ones' amazed expressions with a smile in his eyes:

"You could call it a special ability. Want to go inside? It shelters from wind and rain, much more comfortable than setting up a tent outside."

Ning Rongrong immediately pushed the door open and dashed in first, her cheerful voice soon echoing from inside:

"There's even a small wooden bed in here! Xue Na, come in quickly!"

Xue Na then followed through the doorway, looking at the simple yet complete furnishings inside, she couldn't help but curve her lips into a smile.

Su Yu scattered a circle of insect repellent powder around the cabin, the white powder forming a neat arc along the exterior before he pushed open the wooden door and entered.

Just as he stepped over the threshold, two small figures rushed over like excited fawns, firmly hugging his legs from left and right.

Ning Rongrong lifted her delicate, porcelain-like face, her eyes shining like they were dipped in starlight, filled with undisguised admiration.

She slightly raised her chin, gently rubbing her soft cheek against Su Yu's thigh, her voice sweet and crisp:

"Brother Husband! You're amazing! With this little cabin, we won't have to bother with tents when we go out to play anymore!"

Xue Na pressed her warm cheek against Su Yu's pant leg, gently nuzzling, her little voice filled with deep admiration:

"Brother is so amazing! Xue Na wants to learn lots and lots of skills like brother in the future!"

Su Yu looked down at the two clingy and adorable little ones by his legs, gentle laughter shimmering in his eyes. He bent down and ruffled each of their heads:

"As long as Rongrong likes it. Xue Na is very smart too, you'll definitely become as capable as brother in the future."

The cabin wasn't large, but it was tidy and clean. Some dry firewood was piled in the corner, and the air carried the faint fragrance of pinewood.

Ning Rongrong pulled Su Yu's hand as she walked further inside, while Xue Na followed closely behind, her small steps quick as if afraid of being left behind.

The small cabin was filled with the clear, cheerful laughter of the two little ones, warm and cozy.

That night, the two little ones slept on either side of Su Yu, their small hands holding onto him tightly.

As the night deepened, a dim oil lamp burned in the cabin, casting soft circles of warm light on the floor.

Ning Rongrong and Xue Na snuggled against Su Yu's sides, one on each side like two gentle kittens.

Ning Rongrong rested her head on Su Yu's arm, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly with each breath. One small hand firmly grasped Su Yu's sleeve as if afraid he might run away.

Xue Na lay on her side, her cheek pressed against Su Yu's side, her other small hand resting on his waist, sleeping peacefully and soundly.

Occasionally, soft, indistinct murmurs would escape her little mouth, as if she was still saying "brother" in her dreams.

Su Yu remained lying on his back, not daring to move casually for fear of disturbing the two little ones beside him.

The faint scent from their bodies lingered at his nose, mingling with the distinctive pinewood aroma of the cabin, bringing him exceptional peace of mind.

The morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled spots of light, while the forest air was filled with the moist scent of grass and trees.

Su Yu lit a campfire and prepared a simple breakfast using the dried provisions and wild berries he had brought.

Slightly charred wheat cakes were sandwiched with sweet and sour wild berries, accompanied by warm beast milk heated in a clay pot.

Ning Rongrong took small bites of the wheat cake, her eyes sparkling:

"Brother Su Yu's breakfast is so delicious!"

Xue Na also nodded vigorously, a few crumbs clinging to the corner of her mouth, making her look like a contented little squirrel.

After finishing breakfast, Su Yu took the two girls to search for a suitable Soul Beast for them.

Ning Rongrong's first Soul Ring was for strength amplification. Given the unique nature of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, they only needed to find a Soul Beast that excelled in strength.

Although the Sunset Forest wasn't as vast as the Star Dou Great Forest, it still housed a considerable variety of Soul Beasts.

To obtain the first Soul Ring, they only needed to stay in the outer regions of the Sunset Forest, with no need to venture into the inner areas.

After searching for about an hour, a powerful ape cry suddenly echoed from ahead, causing the leaves and branches to tremble slightly.

Su Yu's eyes flickered, and he immediately activated the Kagura Mind's Eye. An imperceptible wave of perception spread out like ripples.

Soon, the scene deep within the dense forest ahead clearly appeared in his perception.

A gorilla with an earthy yellow body was crouched there, its thick limbs exuding a sense of brute force—the very Soul Beast that had just let out the cry.

It was the Great Strength Gorilla, known for its power, and it appeared to be just over four hundred years old, making it perfectly suited for Rongrong's first Soul Ring.

"Rongrong, I've found a suitable Soul Beast up ahead!"

Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up, and she tightly grasped Su Yu's hand: "Then let's go take a look quickly!"

Su Yu nodded, signaling for the two to stay close as he moved quietly toward the direction of the gorilla.

After passing through several thick bushes, they indeed saw an earthy yellow gorilla flipping over stones in a clearing.

With each swipe of its claws, it could easily split hard stones in half, demonstrating truly astonishing strength.

Sensing the unusual movement from the bushes behind it, the Great Strength Gorilla abruptly turned its head.

Its large, bell-like eyes were filled with fury, its yellowish-brown fur standing on end, and the thick muscles on its neck bulging.

It stared fixedly at the bushes where the disturbance had come from, its broad lips parting to reveal sharp fangs.

A low growl rumbled in its throat, as if warning the uninvited guests intruding on its territory.

It heavily beat its chest twice with its front paws, the dull thuds echoing through the forest.

The Great Strength Gorilla braced itself on all fours, adopting a stance ready to pounce at any moment, as if it would charge forward and tear apart whatever was in the bushes the next second.

In the next moment, two sharp wooden spikes shot through the air with a fierce momentum, aiming straight for the Great Strength Gorilla's heart.

The gorilla reacted swiftly, letting out a fierce roar as it powerfully pushed off the ground with its thick hind legs. Its massive body leaped nimbly to the side, narrowly avoiding the wooden spikes.

The two spikes thudded into the tree trunk behind it, embedding nearly half a foot deep.

Before the dust had settled, Su Yu emerged from behind the bushes with Ning Rongrong and Xue Na.

Ning Rongrong clutched Su Yu's sleeve tightly, her small face showing some tension, but she straightened her back with effort.

Xue Na, on the other hand, shrank behind Su Yu, only her dark, curious eyes visible as she watched the large gorilla with a mix of curiosity and wariness.

Seeing that the intruders were humans, the Great Strength Gorilla grew even more enraged. It beat its chest again, its roar shaking the leaves from the trees.

It stared fixedly at Su Yu, seemingly assessing the threat level of these uninvited guests.

Its front claws scraped against the ground, leaving several deep scratch marks.

Just as both sides were locked in a stalemate, the Great Strength Gorilla suddenly let out a sharp, low roar, violently raised its thick arms, and slammed them heavily onto the ground!
