Xiao Feng didn't even pause to think.
The words came to him almost instinctively, as though he had already known this moment would arrive and had been preparing for it long before Li Yue ever asked.
"Don't tell him I told you, okay?" he said, making sure his tone sounded careful, almost hesitant, as though he were sharing something fragile.
"I won't," Li Yue answered immediately. Her impatience was clear, written plainly across her expression.
She leaned forward slightly, attention fully captured now. Whatever discomfort she'd felt earlier had been replaced by curiosity, and she wanted the answer more than reassurance at this point.
