Chapter 239: I Swear I Don't Have Any Weird Fetish—Believe Me!

To put it bluntly, big shots like these coming to Douluo University to teach open lectures were practically giving out benefits for free.

If not, who else would they invite to talk?

Surely not just because he was a Limit Douluo or the Spirit Pagoda Master.

As the righteous aura of the Heavenly Awakening Saint Gold Dragon from the Panlong Staff spread through the auditorium, expressions across the room varied widely.

Qian Gu Zhangting calmly summoned his own Panlong Staff, meeting that sacred power head-on. His aura surged, soul power soaring rapidly.

The same happened to the other students—their cultivation responded instinctively to the sacred resonance.

Qian Gu Dongfeng glanced at the Shrek Academy students below, secretly sighing.

Why did good fortune always seem to find them?

He could only shake his head helplessly.

Not long after, Jiang Chen and Na'er arrived at the university. Upon hearing that the Spirit Pagoda Master himself was giving a lecture, Jiang Chen's curiosity flared.

"Wanna go check it out?" he asked.

Na'er crossed her arms. "Not interested."

What was so special about an old man talking anyway?

But before they could go anywhere, two overwhelming auras appeared in front of them like mountains blocking the path.

Oh no…

Jiang Chen didn't even need to look. He knew who it was.

He turned to run—only to find that Na'er had vanished without a trace.

"...What the—she ran off?!"

"Busy man, huh? Finally decided to show up?"

It was Xuedi who spoke first, voice cool and teasing—but before her words finished, Gu Yue struck.

A flash of white hit Jiang Chen squarely across the face.

"Ow!"

He yelped, toppling to the ground.

"Where did you go?! Why won't you listen?!"

Gu Yue stood over him, hands on her hips, her presence sharp and domineering.

She scowled down at him coldly. "Stop faking it. Answer me!"

She wanted to hit him properly, but somehow restrained herself—not using her shoe sole, at least.

Instead, she kicked off her shoe, lifted her foot wrapped in thin white socks, and stomped his face again.

Her delicate ankle gleamed under the sun, her look imperious, voice cold.

You're a dragon—you should listen to me!

And because she still wasn't satisfied, she pressed down a few more times.

Jiang Chen wanted to protest that he was not into this.

But then he faintly felt the soft, cool touch of her foot—smooth as carved jade—pressing against his cheek, through fabric fine as mist.

For a brief moment... there was an indescribable sensation.

He cursed under his breath. "Bah! What am I thinking!"

And then he grabbed her ankle.

"Gu Yue! You're the one being weird here!"

But her anger hadn't faded one bit.

"Jiang Chen!"

Her voice wasn't loud, but it sliced through the air like shards of ice.

"Answer me!"

Before he could react, her poised foot tensed—then snapped downward again!

It struck his face perfectly, cold and flawless as polished pearl, echoing with a crisp smack.

"Gu Yue! Stop hitting my face! You're going too far!"

He groaned, frustration growing. Thank goodness no one else was around—most people were still in class.

If someone had seen this, rumors would spread instantly. Even he would feel embarrassed—and he wasn't easily embarrassed.

"Enough!"

"What's enough?" Gu Yue retorted.

Xuedi—who had been watching in silence—finally sighed, rubbing her temples. "Alright, alright, that's enough. Stop it."

"I'm punishing him," Gu Yue said flatly. "Stay out of it."

Xuedi stared at her. "Punishing him? That looked more like a reward."

Both Gu Yue and Jiang Chen froze.

"Reward?! What do you mean reward?! Don't talk nonsense!"

Once Xuedi dragged Gu Yue away, Jiang Chen rubbed his sore cheek and stood up, still scowling.

"What reward?" he muttered, confused.

Gu Yue didn't understand—not truly.

But Xuedi did. After living among humans for thousands of years, she was well-acquainted with their… peculiar habits.

Jiang Chen's face turned red. "I'm not! I didn't! I'm not into things like that!"

Whatever she was implying, it wasn't true.

Xuedi gave him a look—half disbelief, half amusement. "Then explain where you've been."

Still rubbing his face, Jiang Chen sighed. "Unlock my communicator first."

Gu Yue pouted but waved her hand reluctantly. Instantly, signal returned to his device.

"I went to the Demon Plane," he said plainly. "You should feel it by now—that surge of life energy even reached Douluo City."

Though, unfortunately, the Life Core still remained with Shrek Academy. Without proper advancement of the core essence, no amount of life energy could break the plane's hundred-level limit.

But that wasn't his problem. Whether they reached level 100, 300, or even 500—without divine positions, none of it mattered.

That was the Federation's headache to solve.

Gu Yue's expression soured again.

"Why didn't you take me with you? And why did you sneak off without saying goodbye?"

"I told you already," Jiang Chen said, scratching his head. "I had Brigitte tell you!"

"That's not the point!" she shouted. "I said you're never to leave without me!"

"You're being unreasonable!"

His temper finally snapped. What was this nonsense? Did she think he was her servant?!

He'd already been lectured enough in his last life by bosses—he wasn't about to live through that again in this one!

"I told you everything I needed to. I don't owe you obedience!"

"That's it—I'm done talking!"

He stormed off, fuming.

Xuedi blinked. Jiang Chen never lost his temper—this was the first time she'd seen him truly angry.

Gu Yue stood frozen in disbelief.

"He... he scolded me?!"

Her foot stomped the ground furiously—but she didn't chase after him. Even she knew pushing further might make it worse.

Meanwhile, Jiang Chen hurried toward Na'er's dormitory, sighing with relief when he realized she wasn't following him.

His anger was real. But so was his fear.

If Gu Yue really lost her temper, he wasn't sure he'd survive it.

Living his previous life had been meaningless enough; dying again right after reincarnation would just be stupid.

At least this time, his defiance worked.

"Women really do look for trouble out of nothing," he grumbled.

"Hey, pervert!"

He froze.

Another girl stood before him—Ye Xinglan—her eyes sharp as her blade.

She tapped his shoulder sharply. "Pervert, got a moment? I have some questions for you."

Jiang Chen's mood wasn't great, but since she was cute, he softened immediately.

Gu Yue and Xuedi might intimidate him—but a human girl? That was easy.

He grinned, reached out, and pinched her cheek.

Soft. Warm. Nice.

Ye Xinglan instantly slapped his hand away, stepping back with fire in her eyes.

"You shameless rogue! Pervert!"
