Chapter 133 - Chapter 133: A Member of the Soul Clan?

Chapter 133: A Member of the Soul Clan?

The crisp, resonant voice, imbued with Dou Qi, echoed throughout the entire mountain stronghold.

Inside a lavishly decorated small building, a group of senior members of the Wolfhead Mercenary Group were drinking. However, the moment they heard the voice, their faces turned pale.

"Boss, this isn't good! The owner of that voice is far stronger than us. What should we do?" A scar faced man, previously drunk, sobered up instantly, cold sweat breaking out all over him.

"Arm yourselves, but remain cautious. If this person means no harm, we'll try to avoid a fight. But if he's here to settle a grudge, even if he's a high level Dou Shi, we'll ensure he doesn't leave here alive," the one eyed leader said gravely.

This man was Mu She, the leader of the Wolfhead Mercenary Group.

He stood up slowly and pulled a pitch black weapon from beneath his seat. It was a submachine gun!

Moments later, a group of people, each hiding a submachine gun behind their backs, exited the building. However, the scene they encountered caused them to rethink their strategy.

In the center of the stronghold stood a figure with radiant Dou Qi wings spread wide a sign of a Dou Wang expert.

A Dou Wang was an existence that they, with their small arsenal, could not hope to contend with. Even with their mysterious weapons, they were utterly powerless in the face of such strength.

"This… This esteemed expert, what brings you to our Wolfhead Mercenary Group?" Mu She swallowed hard, hastily stowing the submachine gun behind his back.

As he approached Xiao Yan, dragging a terrified Mu Li, Mu She's shock deepened.

This so called Dou Wang wasn't an elder with decades of experience it was a teenager.

"Young… and already a Dou Wang?" Mu She's thoughts raced, his mind trying to comprehend the incredible sight before him.

When he saw Mu Li, battered and hanging limply in Xiao Yan's grasp, Mu She's expression darkened.

"Did Mu Li offend this powerful figure?" A chill ran down Mu She's spine. If this boy had indeed angered Xiao Yan, then the Wolfhead Mercenary Group was doomed. Even their so called invincible weapons would be useless.

"I have questions for you," Xiao Yan said, his tone calm but laced with authority. "Answer them to my satisfaction, and I will reward you generously. If not, today marks the end of the Wolfhead Mercenary Group."

His gaze sharp as a blade, Xiao Yan added, "Odd numbers change, even numbers don't!"

Mu She blinked in confusion. "M my lord, I… I don't understand what you mean."

"Odd numbers change, even numbers don't!" Xiao Yan repeated, his voice carrying a hint of frustration.

Still bewildered, Mu She shook his head nervously. "My lord, I truly don't understand!"

"Heaven King Covers the Earth Tiger?" Xiao Yan tried again, his last sliver of hope fading.

Mu She, utterly lost, shook his head once more.

"Useless!" Xiao Yan snorted coldly, making Mu She flinch.

With a flick of his wrist, Xiao Yan pulled a sleek black handgun from Mu Li's belongings and tossed it at Mu She's feet.

"Tell me where did you get this?" Xiao Yan's voice was icy, his gaze sharp.

Seeing the firearm, Mu She's face paled, then relaxed slightly. He understood why even a Dou Wang would show interest in this object.

These mysterious weapons, capable of killing even Dou Shi without requiring Dou Qi, were treasures of unimaginable value. If they could be mass produced, they could easily build a formidable force.

"My lord, I… I found it," Mu She stammered, trying to remain calm.

"You found it?" Xiao Yan's brows furrowed.

Releasing his powerful soul perception, Xiao Yan scanned the entire stronghold. Moments later, several black pistols, submachine guns, and even an assault rifle floated into the air before gathering in front of him.

The sight left the Wolfhead mercenaries trembling in fear.

Xiao Yan's actions made it clear this was a man of absolute power. If he wished, not a single soul in the mercenary group would survive.

"These weapons… Where exactly did you find them?" Xiao Yan asked, his tone softer but no less commanding.

"In… in the back mountain behind our base," Mu She stammered, sweat dripping down his forehead. Seeing the floating firearms, he dared not harbor any rebellious thoughts.

"Take me there," Xiao Yan ordered flatly.

"Yes… of course!"

Mu She nodded obediently and led Xiao Yan to a cave in the back mountain.

The cave was damp and eerie. As Xiao Yan stepped inside, his gaze landed on a skeleton.

"My lord, I discovered this skeleton ten years ago. At the time, the body was relatively intact, and I found a storage ring on it. Inside the ring were some treasures and these mysterious weapons," Mu She explained, his voice trembling.

He hesitated before adding, "I… I've already used up the pills and most of the treasures…"

"I don't care about those trifles," Xiao Yan said dismissively, reaching out to take the storage ring.

Using his soul power, Xiao Yan probed the ring. The space inside was modest, about three to four cubic meters, and mostly empty save for a few seemingly insignificant items.

However, when Xiao Yan's gaze landed on a black iron token in the corner, his pupils contracted.

With a thought, the token appeared in his palm.

It bore the name Hun An (Soul Peace).

A suspicion brewed in Xiao Yan's heart. He turned to summon his two spiritual guardians, Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu.

Two elderly figures emerged silently from the void, their sudden appearance making Mu She tremble violently.

"Wen Lao, is there a way to determine if this skeleton is connected to the Soul Clan?" Xiao Yan asked.

"You suspect this corpse belongs to a member of the Soul Clan?" Xiao Wen raised a brow, intrigued.

"Indeed. If we can verify its identity, that would be ideal," Xiao Yan replied.

"Heh, leave it to me," Xiao Wen chuckled. He gestured toward Xiao Wu, who produced a jade vial from his robes.

Opening the vial, a sinister black mist emerged and coalesced into the form of an old woman.

The ghostly figure attempted to flee, but Xiao Wu snatched her back with ease, forcing her into his palm.

"If you try to escape again, I'll destroy you completely," Xiao Wu sneered, his voice cold.

Ignoring Mu She's frightened gasps, Xiao Yan focused on the ghostly figure.

"Tell me," Xiao Yan commanded. "Was this person a member of the Soul Clan?"
