Thalor turned to look at him again, and the blue glow in his eyes made them look otherworldly. "Just tell her the truth..."

They got to five hundred meters. Outside of hydro-vision's range, it was completely dark around them.
Normally, the water pressure at this depth would crush a human body like an empty can, but Rick didn't feel anything but the soft current flowing by. The temperature had dropped to near freezing, and it was so cold that Rick could see his breath making tiny bubbles.
But again, he felt fine.
