Chapter 79: 95. Arrogance Requires Ability

So then, how could he lure Spirit Hall's attention?

Tang Hao chose the simplest and most direct method—by smashing every Spirit Hall branch he came across. That way, Spirit Hall couldn't possibly ignore him.

In his previous life, he had done this countless times. After Tang San awakened his martial soul, Tang Hao saw hope for revenge. From protecting the boy through Shrek Academy until Tang San's rise, Tang Hao repeatedly took "interest" from Spirit Hall—by demolishing its halls one after another to vent his rage.

Whether those inside were Spirit Hall members or innocent bystanders didn't matter to him. Back in his days as Clear Sky Douluo, he already cared little for others' lives. Now, as a former ruler of a plane, he was fully accustomed to regarding mortals as insignificant ants.

During the Abyssal Invasion, countless died in the war against the Abyssal Plane—did Tang Hao feel even a ripple of emotion? Of course not.

He continued traveling with Ah Yin toward the next target.

If one observed his route carefully, they would notice he was getting closer and closer to the main Spirit Hall headquarters.

But when Tang Hao reached a remote mountain path, a Clear Sky Hammer suddenly crashed down in front of him. A burly old man stood atop it.

Seeing that hammer, Tang Hao instantly felt like cursing aloud.

Damn it, Spirit Hall—where are you? Why won't you show up? Don't you even want that hundred-thousand-year spirit beast? Are you pushing me, Tang Hao, to become an ungrateful villain?

He had been waiting all this time for Spirit Hall pursuers—yet the ones who arrived were members of his own Clear Sky Sect.

"Uncle Qi, what brings you here?" Tang Hao said with a forced smile.

Tang Qi stood tall on his hammer, looking down coldly at him.

"Tang Hao, you've grown bold indeed!" he shouted, his fury raining down like blows. "You harmed your brother, injured your elders, mated with a soul beast, and birthed a beastman! Now you go around causing chaos, destroying Spirit Halls all over the land. Are you not already bringing enough trouble to the Clear Sky Sect? You've shamed your father and grandfather completely, you wretched child!"

Tang Hao couldn't dispute the earlier accusations, but when the topic turned to Spirit Hall, he flared up.

"Hahaha, Spirit Hall? So what if I destroy them? If they dare to hunt me—let them come. One comes, one dies. Two come, I'll kill both!" he declared proudly.

"You—" Tang Qi jabbed a finger at him. "Have you lost your mind? Don't forget, Spirit Hall has an Ultimate Douluo equal to your grandfather. Aren't you afraid of bringing annihilation upon our sect?"

"Qian Daoliu?" Tang Hao scoffed. "My grandfather hammered him once, and I'll hammer him again. If he dares come, I'll crush him myself." That was the confidence of a man who believed a god king stood behind him.

"You're utterly arrogant," Tang Qi snapped.

Tang Hao hefted his Clear Sky Hammer onto his shoulder and said evenly, "Arrogance requires ability. And I happen to have it."

"Tang Hao, you're unreasonable!" Tang Qi had to wonder if Tang Hao's brain was waterlogged. He decided there was no point arguing further. His expression hardened. "Tang Hao, hand over that hundred-thousand-year soul beast and the beastman child you birthed."

"No," Tang Hao said firmly. "I will never give Ah Yin to you. And Tang San is the rightful heir of the Clear Sky Sect, not a beastman."

The word beastman filled Tang Hao with suppressed fury. At this point, Tang San was only an infant—far from the future powerhouse who would one day possess twin martial souls and multiple hundred-thousand-year rings. The sect could not yet see his potential, so they judged him by worldly standards, equating his pure, innocent child with filthy creatures like the Wolf Thieves.

Tang Qi's eyes narrowed. He jumped down, hammer in hand, nine rings—yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, black—rising around him. "Tang Hao, you refuse to repent. Didn't you say arrogance requires strength? Then let me see what your arrogance is worth!"

The overwhelming power of a Titled Douluo surged toward Tang Hao.

Tang Hao quickly placed the baby Tang San on a flat stone nearby, shielding both Ah Yin and the child behind him. Then he summoned his own Clear Sky Hammer—eight rings circling him: yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black.

"Only eight rings? You're courting death. Hand over that soul beast and your beastman whelp, and I'll take you back to the sect alive," Tang Qi said calmly. Though Tang Hao's talent surpassed his own, level 90 was still far below a true Titled Douluo.

"No. If you want Ah Yin, you'll have to step over my corpse first," Tang Hao said coldly. To him, protecting Ah Yin was everything—his future, his love, even his ascension to become a divine ruler depended on it. He wouldn't yield, not even to his sect.

The two men clashed, soul power crashing together. Before Tang Hao activated his domain, Tang Qi had the clear advantage, forcing Tang Hao to struggle under his suppression.

"Stubborn fool! I'll knock some sense into you!" Tang Qi barked and signaled secretly to his hidden allies.

At his cue, Tang Lie and Tang Qizhen burst from the forest—Tang Lie lunging toward Ah Yin, while Tang Qizhen charged straight at the baby.

Sensing this, Tang Qi strengthened his oppressive force.

Tang Hao turned, catching sight of Tang Qizhen raising his hammer over Tang San.

"Tang San—!" Tang Hao roared, his eyes bloodshot. In that instant, he erupted with the Killing God Domain. The surge of power shredded Tang Qi's oppressive aura.

"What—?" Tang Qi's heart lurched. So strong? Can that domain really be this powerful? Just moments earlier, he'd been dominating Tang Hao—now the tides reversed completely.

"Don't you dare harm my son!" Tang Hao bellowed. He raised the massive Clear Sky Hammer high, slamming it down toward Tang Qizhen.

The force of his domain blasted Tang Lie away. The colossal hammer descended like a thunderclap.

Tang Qizhen stood frozen, staring up in horror. He wanted to flee, but terror paralyzed him.

With a deafening boom, the hammer came down. When it lifted again, Tang Qizhen was gone—only a smear of flesh remained in a deep crater.

"Qizhen—!" Tang Qi's eyes went red, his breaths ragged.

"Qizhen—!" Tang Lie echoed, veins bulging with grief and rage.
