The GM shot out several more rounds all missing but still applying pressure, splitting my focus I kept dodging while trying to get a read on my opponent. The GM's movement was fairly simple, it juts advanced forward while keeping continuous pressure on me. As I continued my less than graceful attempts to doge I did a quick once over on what the GM had equipped. Looking at that mobile suit I saw that It came equipped with a beam spray gun, shield, beam saber mounted on its back, and vulcan ports on the top of the head.
With a basic understanding of what I was fighting against I pushed forward. Steadying my rifle I let out a barrage of bullets while hoping that this would be enough to let me close the distance a bit. The GM swiftly brought up it's shield easily and braced itself as it blocked my rounds. Using this moment I thrusted myself forward, fighting against a beam weapon in a Zaku I is hopeless. Knowing that even the weakest beam weapon would pierce me with ease and that my stamina would eventually let out I decided to make this a close range fight.
Relying on my enhanced spatial awareness I continued my advance forward. Bullets flew, beams of minovsky particles screamed throught the air glassing the sand around me as I kept moving forward. The GM after several minutes of attempting to keep the distance finally decided on charging forward as well, and the strength gap between us became even clearer. The GM having a much stronger thruster unit nearly flew across the sand where as I had to take choppy burst to move forward. The GM now nearly within melee let out a spray of beams all at once, once again I dodged my intuition saving me as I let myself fall to the sand.
With another quick burst from by thrusters I slid towards the GM's leg's and with such a short distances between us forced the GM to jump over me. Using my momentum I rolled onto my left shoulder then smoothly went to a knee, I let loose one last barrage forcing my opponent to turn and raise it's shield. Using this moment I dropped my rifle and while dashing forward I drew my heat hawk and swiftly slashed across cutting it's shield in half. instincts flaring once more I shifted to my left and barely dodged the beam saber the the GM drew.
Seeing that it missed the GM rotated it's hips and tried for a diagonal upslash, realizing that I was completely open to his attack I thrusted out my left hand and caught the GM's forearms halting his movements. With heat hawk in hand I swung my right arm up then straight now putting myself in a rather uncomfortable position but successfully managed to cut off both of the GM's arms, with both arms now severed The GM dashed backwards vulcans flaring to life as round after round pelted me. My armor dented, my visor cracked but i pushed forward, bullets rattled off me but as I pushed my thrusters to the max I quickly came upon the retreating GM. I pulled my axe into both of my hands and the second I was withing striking distance I swung at the GM's midsection. My heat hawk met the GM's armored torso and swiftly cut through it.
I continued forward as I let my momentum carry me and behind me my opponent fell onto it's back, sparks flew in a frenzy as after a brief moment the GM blew up sending sand and scrap mettle everywhere. Falling to a knee I let out a breath of relief and exasution when suddenly my system flashed to life.

The world around me started to twist and pull and darkness once more surrounded me, light quickly entered and I found myself right back into my world. Looking at the clock above my stove I saw that no time passed since I went into the trial room. Moments after realizing this fact the system shop opened up before me with a display of all of the mobile suits. As I scrolled through the list the temptation to buy a strong suit like the 00 QanT or even the Strike Freedom crossed my mind several times but in the end rationality won as I knew there would be no way I could beat them with a Zaku.
With reluctance in my heart I scrolled down to the mobile suits that were similar to scale to the GM and I started looking. Many choices filled my mind, there was the many variations of the RGM-79 GM but there was also other suits I could choose such as the MS-06 Zaku II and all of there variations but then again I could get the MS-07 Gouf, the MS-09 Dom, or expand to other universes and get some Leo's or even the GAT-03 GINN's. As I considered these choices a certain mobile suit caught my eye, it was the MS-14 Gelgoog. "This mobile suit.... it is a mass produced model that had beam weaponry like the GM. I wonder if it'll work."
Selecting the Gelgoog a system prompt showed up.

With a sigh of disappointment I selected no, going back to the options listed before me, I went through them with certain specifications in mind, ones that would make my life much easier in the long run. The first requirement was that it had to have beam weaponry, as I fought stronger opponents kinetic rounds would simply put me at a disadvantage. The next requirement was that it had to be maneuverable without compromising on its durability. And the last requiarment as that the mobile suit needed to be capable of at minimum short term flight, this feature would me vital in maneuvering and positioning. With these requirements in mind I went back to the GM's and in the variations tab I found it. The RGM-79S GM Spartan, this would be my next mobile suit it had everything I was looking for and more. Selecting the spartan I started to read through it's equipment my certainty growing stronger as I read what it came with.
The RGM-79S GM Spartan came equipped with a actual beam rifle, stronger armor and thruster, two beam sabers on its shoulder, a Minovsky particle dispersion pod on its back which will lessen the pressure from beam weapons, two beam sabers and a heat knife in its backpack unit, Two anti mobile suit wire guided missiles, camouflage netting, a mini gun, three grenades on its right skirt armor, a hyper bazooka, and Bullpup Machine Gun. After reading its equipment I couldn't help but worry that this too would be rejected, pushing my fear aside I selected the mobile suit.

~~~I hope yall enjoyed the chapter as I had a fun time writing it and searching for information to make it. Now to clear up any confusion about why our mc could get the spartan is cause of plot..... at least that's what I would say ifI didn't think it out. The spartan does have better specs than the slandered GM but it's not by much. The equipment of the spartan was meant to destroy mobile suits and defend against beam weaponry. For example the Minovsky Particle Dispersion Pod, this equipment could jam sensors and weaken beam strikes among other uses. And while this does look strong in theory its a double sided blade as now your beam weaponry is weakened which would force the use of kinetic rounds. A lot if the Spartans kit is finicky like that and if yall have any questions about it or just want to debate I'd be happy to do so. But until then I'll see yall in the next chapter.~~~
