Chapter 5 - Luna’s Suspicion

Bruce froze.

Standing in the doorway was Luna Carter.

Silver hair.

Sharp, mischievous eyes.

A faint smile on her lips.

But those eyes were not laughing.

They were observing.

Carefully.

Very carefully.

Bruce immediately understood something important.

Luna might look playful…

But she was dangerous.

Very dangerous.

In the memories he inherited, Luna Carter was the youngest sister, only one year older than Bruce.

But in the hidden world, she was known as the Devil Punisher.

The feared Underworld Queen.

Someone who had destroyed entire criminal organisations before turning twenty.

And right now…

She had just seen him standing.

Without the brace.

Bruce's mind immediately started calculating.

Panic was useless.

Excuses had to be believable.

Luna pushed herself off the doorframe and slowly walked into the room.

Each step was light, almost silent.

She stopped a few metres away from Bruce and tilted her head slightly.

"Interesting."

Bruce blinked.

"What is?"

She pointed at his leg.

"That."

Bruce looked down.

Then back at her.

"Oh."

He scratched his head slightly.

"I just… tried standing."

Luna raised an eyebrow.

"Your leg was crippled this morning."

Bruce shrugged.

"Maybe the doctor exaggerated."

Luna stared at him silently.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Fifteen seconds.

Bruce calmly returned the gaze.

In his previous life, Aron Turner had faced interrogation from intelligence agencies, mafia bosses, and political leaders.

A teenage girl's stare wasn't enough to break him.

Finally, Luna sighed.

"You're weird today."

Bruce tilted his head.

"How so?"

"You talk differently."

Bruce's heart skipped for half a second.

Sharp.

Very sharp.

But his expression remained relaxed.

"I hit my head earlier."

"Hmm."

Luna circled him slowly like a curious cat.

Bruce could practically feel her trying to read him.

"You're also walking normally."

Bruce lifted his foot slightly.

"Feels fine now."

Luna narrowed her eyes.

"That doesn't just happen."

Bruce shrugged again.

"Maybe it's a miracle."

Luna suddenly stepped closer.

Very close.

Their faces were only a few inches apart.

Bruce could see his reflection in her sharp silver eyes.

For a brief moment, the air became tense.

Then Luna suddenly grinned.

"Well, miracles are cool."

Bruce blinked.

That was… unexpected.

She walked toward the bed and casually sat down.

"So, little brother."

Bruce leaned against the desk.

"Yes?"

"Are you still planning to protect us?"

Bruce nodded calmly.

"Of course."

Luna laughed again.

"You just learnt how to walk properly."

Bruce folded his arms.

"And you're already ruling the underworld."

Silence.

The room suddenly became extremely quiet.

Luna's smile froze.

Her eyes slowly widened.

Bruce immediately realised his mistake.

He had spoken too naturally.

Too confidently.

For a ten-year-old child.

Luna slowly stood up.

Her playful expression disappeared.

"What did you just say?"

Bruce pretended to look confused.

"What?"

"You said I rule the underworld."

Bruce blinked innocently.

"Oh."

Then he scratched his head again.

"I meant… You look like someone cool."

Luna stared at him.

Bruce stared back.

Several long seconds passed.

Then suddenly—

Luna burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

She collapsed onto the bed, holding her stomach.

Bruce remained silent.

Finally, she wiped tears from her eyes.

"You're hilarious today."

Bruce relaxed slightly.

Crisis avoided.

For now.

Luna jumped off the bed and walked toward the door.

But before leaving, she turned back.

Her playful smile returned.

But her eyes…

Her eyes were still sharp.

"Little brother."

Bruce looked at her.

"Yes?"

She pointed two fingers at her eyes.

Then at him.

"I'm watching you."

Then she left the room.

The door closed quietly.

Bruce exhaled slowly.

"That girl is dangerous."

Even with Aron Turner's experience, he almost exposed himself.

Luna Carter's instincts were terrifying.

Bruce walked back to the bed and sat down.

His mind quickly analysed the situation.

Luna suspected something.

Not everything.

But enough to be cautious.

He would have to be more careful.

Bruce looked down at his leg again.

Completely healed.

The magical river had truly changed everything.

But he couldn't reveal that yet.

Not even to his family.

At least not now.

Bruce leaned back against the bed.

Then suddenly—

Something appeared in his mind again.

The space world.

But this time, something was different.

The massive castle inside the space world…

Its doors had opened.

Bruce's eyes narrowed.

"So it reacts to my progress."

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Bruce closed his eyes again.

His consciousness slowly entered the space world once more.

The grass field appeared beneath his feet.

The glowing river flowed calmly nearby.

But Bruce's attention was fixed on the castle.

The gigantic doors stood open.

Darkness waited inside.

Bruce slowly walked toward it.

Each step echoed faintly.

The closer he got, the stronger the strange energy became.

Finally, he reached the entrance.

Inside the castle hall stood something unexpected.

A large stone pedestal.

And resting on top of it—

A black ring.

Bruce approached slowly.

The ring looked ancient.

Strange symbols were carved along its surface.

Bruce picked it up.

The moment his fingers touched it—

The symbols suddenly glowed.

A voice echoed inside his mind.

"Authority recognised."

"Space master confirmed."

Bruce's eyes widened.

Then the voice continued.

"Primary system functions unlocked."

A massive amount of information suddenly flooded his mind.

Material conversion.

Weapon creation.

Advanced storage.

Living creature storage.

Energy farming.

Resource manufacturing.

Bruce stood there silently for several seconds.

Then slowly…

A dangerous smile appeared on his face.

"This system …"

"It is even stronger than I imagined."

Back in the bedroom, Bruce's physical body lay quietly on the bed.

But inside the space world…

A future king was beginning to rise.
