Chapter 14 - Cooperation with Baizhu

Inside the Qianyan Army prison.

The fake merchant, locked up, stared intently at the person before him, whose expression remained unchanging, a mysterious and elegant smile gracing her lips. He said, "Ningguang, now that I've fallen to this state, what do you plan to do?"

Ningguang's smile didn't waver, but the words she spoke caused the man's face to turn ashen, feeling as if he'd plunged into an icy abyss.

"If you were coming after me, that would be one thing. But your actions have already threatened the safety of Liyue's citizens. I won't do anything to you personally, but Liyue's laws will deal with you."

"Oh, and I almost forgot to mention – the laws still need some work, and I need to continue refining them."

With that, Ningguang turned and walked away calmly.

Before leaving, she said to the Qianyan Army soldier beside her, "Bring Yelan here. Let her interrogate this fellow."

"Yes, Lady Ningguang," the Qianyan Army soldier replied respectfully.

"Clang!" The prison door slammed shut with a heavy thud, a dull yet resounding sound, as if delivering the final judgment on the fake merchant's fate.

As the door slowly closed, the light was completely shut out, plunging the entire cell into endless darkness.

The fake merchant stared blankly at the closed door, his eyes filled with despair and helplessness.

His body trembled slightly, his lips moving as if he wanted to speak, but no sound came out. He knew he had no way out, and what awaited him was an unknown punishment and trial.

In this darkness, time seemed to stretch on endlessly. Each second was a torment, causing the fake merchant's heart to suffer.

He couldn't imagine what would happen next, and a deep fear welled up within him.

However, no matter how he struggled, resisted, or pleaded for mercy, he couldn't change the reality before him. He could only silently endure it all, waiting for the judgment of fate in the darkness.

Late at night, in the Jade Chamber.

Ningguang was processing some documents when a figure slowly walked in.

The figure appeared before her silently.

"Well?" Ningguang looked up, unsurprised by the visitor, and asked calmly.

The visitor was none other than Yelan, known throughout Liyue as the "Orchid in a Secluded Valley, a Thousand Faces," and a special intelligence officer directly under Tianquan Ningguang.

Yelan's short, dark blue hair was styled with a side-swept fringe. Her green eyes and red lips were adorned with purple makeup. She had a tall figure and wore a blue and white leather outfit that matched her hair color. The entire leather outfit was connected, with the top, bottom, and boots all joined together.

She wore many accessories, such as a pearl bracelet on her left hand and a pair of white jade and sapphire earrings. A dice decoration hung from her collar, and the Vision attached to her leg both had blue tassels. This outfit always accompanied its owner, lurking in the shadows, and her mysterious aura was like an orchid blooming at midnight.

"I did indeed obtain some useful information, related to the Fatui," Yelan handed a piece of paper to Ningguang.

"It's the Fatui again, as expected." Ningguang's eyes flashed with a cold killing intent as she looked at the intelligence report in her hand.

"What do you plan to do?" Yelan leaned against a pillar, watching her.

"We don't have enough evidence yet, so for now, we remain still. By the way, how is that adeptus?" Ningguang changed the subject, asking about something else.

"I haven't seen anything yet, but she seems to be quite good at divination. All of Keqing's actions were predicted by her," Yelan nodded slightly.

"Really? It seems this adeptus is quite interesting. Don't get into any conflicts with her, and try to befriend her." Ningguang instructed.

"Understood." Yelan nodded, then turned and merged into the darkness, her figure disappearing into the night.

Early this morning, Yunyan opened the door to find a crowd of people waiting outside, all seeking a divination.

It was clear that the label "Approved by Yuheng Keqing" had attracted these people.

"The door's open!"

"Shopkeeper, please do a divination for me!"

"I was first! You must do mine!"

The clamor and the eagerness of the crowd made Yunyan feel a little troubled.

"Stop, stop, everyone be quiet for a moment." Yunyan called out.

After the crowd quieted down, Yunyan began, "Today, I will only be doing divination for lost items. If you have one, raise your hand."

As soon as the words fell, only a few people in the group raised their hands.

"You, come in. The rest of you, come back tomorrow." Yunyan casually pointed to a middle-aged man who looked a little anxious, and then walked inside on her own.

The others, seeing this, slowly left in disappointment, while the chosen man followed in with surprise.

"What do you want to divine?" Yunyan sat behind the table.

"I want to ask you to help me divine a herb called the Three-Color Flower. This medicine is extremely difficult to find, so I've come to ask for a divination." The man spoke with some urgency.

"Alright, just a moment."

Yunyan stretched out her finger and made some calculations, then threw out two copper coins, and closed her eyes to cast the spell.

After a while, she opened her eyes and said, "Go out of the main gate of Liyue Harbor, and go north all the way. About half a day's journey, there will be a mountain. There is a clear spring in the mountain, and the Three-Color Flower is by the spring." The man thanked her repeatedly.

"No need, the divination fee is five thousand." Yunyan said.

Watching his departing back, Yunyan couldn't help but shake her head.

Then, she remembered something. She came to Liyue just to find a place to settle down. Doing divinations was a way to integrate herself into Liyue and gather information about the continent, but she needed income to cover her expenses.

Deciding on this, Yunyan left a message for Xueyue before departing towards Bubu Pharmacy.

Arriving at Bubu Pharmacy, Yunyan walked inside and saw that there was no one behind the counter. However, after taking two steps forward, she realized that it wasn't that there was no one, but rather that a little zombie was standing behind it. Her height wasn't quite enough, as the counter almost completely blocked her body.

"Qiqi, is Baizhu here?" Yunyan asked.

Qiqi raised her head and slowly replied after hearing Yunyan's words, "Mr. Baizhu went to collect herbs."

"When will he be back?"

"I don't know."

"How long has she been gone?"

"I don't know."

Yunyan was a little helpless and had no choice but to turn back, planning to come again tomorrow.

As she walked out, she happened to see Baizhu walking back.

"Mr. Baizhu," Yunyan greeted him.

"You are...?" Baizhu looked at Yunyan, a little puzzled.

"She has the aura of an adeptus," ChangSheng on his neck suddenly whispered.

"A Adeptus?" Baizhu was even more curious.

"Hello, Mr. Baizhu. My name is Yunyan, and I'm the owner of the Bu Tiange (Divination Pavilion)," Yunyan introduced herself.

"So you're Owner Yun. What brings you here?" Baizhu had obviously heard the rumors about the Bu Tiange.

"I'd like to discuss a collaboration with Mr. Baizhu, if you're interested," Yunyan said.

"Oh? Please, come inside. This isn't the place to talk," Baizhu's interest was piqued.

He led Yunyan to a room in the back. After they sat down, Baizhu asked, "What kind of collaboration are you referring to?"

"Please, Mr. Baizhu, take a look at this." Yunyan took out a pill. "This pill is something I've developed. It's called the Restoration Pill, and it can quickly heal injuries to a certain extent. You can try it."

Baizhu was surprised to hear this, but he didn't hesitate. He made a small cut on his palm, then took the pill and carefully felt its effects.

After a moment, the wound completely healed.

Baizhu opened his eyes, excitedly asking, "This medicine's effects are truly remarkable. How many of these pills do you have?"

"That's what I want to discuss with you next, the cooperation," Yunyan smiled.

Next, Yunyan and Baizhu discussed some topics in detail. There were pills for healing, detoxification, and calming the mind. After they reached an agreement, Baizhu personally saw Yunyan out of Bubu Pharmacy.

"Is this the way of the immortals?" Baizhu watched Yunyan's back, muttering to himself…

Yunyan would provide Baizhu with a batch of various pills each month, and Baizhu would pay the corresponding Mora, roughly a five million Mora business each month.

"Now I don't have to worry about Mora," Yunyan solved the problem of her Mora source, and was naturally quite happy.
