Chapter 1 - Logged-In.

It was a dimly lit room, the interior was nicely designed, the windows were tall, and the bright moonlight was entering inside through them, making the white glimmering stripes on the ground.

"Yeah, I'm just an insect," Leon gritted his teeth, trying his best to hold his tears back.

Leon was lying on top of a bed, staring at the blank ceiling. The air inside the room was chilled, and the bed was nicely done. A small table was beside the bed's shelf, and a lamp was kept on it. The only source of light inside the room was from that lamp.

'I'm a loser, my life doesn't mean anything anymore.' He looked at his legs and tried to move them, but he failed miserably. The nerves in his legs had stopped working long ago. 'Only if I didn't have that accident back then.' A small sigh escaped his mouth, as if he was trying to finally accept his fate.

The door to his room slowly creaked open, and a girl with brown eyes, dark hair, who seemed to be around the age of 15, entered inside of Leon's room.

Her voice came softly, excitement filled it. "Big brotherrr, look, I brought the game which you wanted to play." She extended her hand towards Leon, showing a box carrying a helmet in it.

A small bead of tear dwelled inside of Leon's eyes, voice came tiring. "But... but it was when I didn't get crippled." He then clutched the bedsheet, showcasing his anger slightly.

Leon's eyes shifted from the ceiling to the helmet, looking at it with lifeless eyes. "What should I even do with it, Sylvi?" His voice came softly, and pain was filled inside of it.

A small smile curled up on Sylvia's lips. She extended her hand towards Leon's forehead and rested it over it. She started patting him, her voice came low but soft. "Brother, it'll all be good soon, don't worry too much."

She then grabbed the game helmet, which she kept before Leon's bed, opened the box, and removed the helmet from it. She had a bright smile on her face while doing all of that, and she lifted his head, then put the helmet she had brought on his head.

"Brother, don't try to overplay it, okay?" She said with a small smile as she stepped down from the bed, walking towards the door.

She looked back at Leon before leaving the room. "I'll come back in a few hours with your lunch. Enjoy your play till then, big bro." Her eyes closed slightly, bright smile appeared on her lips as she left his room completely.

Leon sighed as he lifted one of his hands, pressing the button that was on the right corner of the helmet. 'Well, I wanted to play it for a long time now, let's just dig in then?'

It didn't take long enough for the surroundings around him to disappear completely. In just a few seconds, he found himself in a space which was completely dark, and the only thing which was visible to him was his hands. He tried to move his legs, and he finally felt his lower limbs. 'What? What the fuck? I can feel my body, this... this is so good.'

Tears started flowing out of his eyes without him even noticing them. He moved his legs and then tried to stretch his toes. His voice came low, shaky. "I.. I finally can feel it all, oh god. This thing isn't real, but still it feels too good."

Leon looked for any source of light that he could find, but the only thing he noticed was a panel that was hovering in front of his eyes with bright blue light.

There were some digits written onto it:

[Countdown: 120 Seconds.]

[The user should wait for the given time to log into the game successfully.]

A small smirk curled up on Leon's lips, voice came a bit low. "Well, let's see what I can do in this open-reality game." Leon started to wait patiently, flexing the muscles inside his legs, feeling the sensation inside his legs.

[Countdown: 0 Seconds.]

[User can finally log into the game.]

[Press:]

[Yes: If you want to enter the game.]

[No: If you want to log out of the game.]

A small smirk was tucked up on his lips again. "Heh, let's dig in." He extended his finger slightly towards the options and pressed the yes.

The surroundings of his changed once again, this time he found himself in a room which was completely white, the ground was made out of clouds.

Leon's eyes shifted towards the ceiling, the ceiling was made with the carvings of gold, a marble that looked beautiful enough to be carved from the stone that fell straight from the heavens.

At the front, there stood a woman in a white dress, with small wings attached to her back, and a small halo, which was reflecting golden light, hovering on top of her head. Her eyes were golden, hair was white.

Beside her was a table made out of white marble, on top of which was a small sphere of mana.

She looked at Leon with a small smile on her lips, her voice came soft. "User, please come here."

Leon slowly approached her; his steps were deliberate and filled with caution as if he had his guard on. When Leon reached the table, she looked at him once again.

She pointed towards the sphere of mana with her hand. "User, please keep your hand on it."

Leon gulped as he thought twice before doing what she asked him to, but he took a deep breath and put his hand on top of the sphere.

A screen suddenly appeared in front of his eyes, glowing brightly with the texts:

[Welcome, new user.]

[Please choose the rathatich you want to be:]

[Human.]

[Elf.]

[Dwarves.]

Leon looked at the options which were floating in the air in front of his eyes, he took his hand to his chin and started scratching it as if he was trying to think. 'Hmm... which one should I take?'
