Chapter 6 Kamiya-kun will also make new friends

As a key school in the city, Chiba Municipal Soubu High School implemented full-day classes from Monday to Friday, and half-day classes on Saturday, to ensure its university admission rate.

So today, Saturday, Kamiya Yu had no choice but to leave his home. He was listless, causing his head to bob up and down uncontrollably.

"Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have played so late. I didn't expect Dark Night Earl to be so difficult to defeat, or maybe my skills are just too poor!"

After Kamiya Yu logged off, he lay in bed, unable to sleep, feeling that it was his fault that his only friend was unhappy.

"It must be because I'm too bad; I still need to practice more!" Thinking this, Kamiya Yu logged back into the game and clumsily cast skills to attack the dungeon, practicing until around one in the morning.

He yawned repeatedly, walked into the classroom in a daze, and collapsed onto his desk, falling into a deep sleep.

"Screech, screech, screech"

A piece of chalk cut a graceful arc through the air, landing precisely on Kamiya Yu's head, followed by Hiratsuka Shizuka's indifferent voice from the podium.

"Kamiya-san, is my class very boring? Or have you already mastered everything and don't need to listen to my lecture?"

Kamiya Yu woke up with a start from his sleep. He seemed to have had a nightmare just now, dreaming that Hiratsuka Shizuka was holding a whip, constantly lashing the ground, making snapping sounds, and flames ignited on her body, causing him sharp pain.

"So this wasn't a dream after all."

Kamiya Yu mused, while standing up from his seat and looking at Hiratsuka Shizuka.

Seeing Kamiya Yu stand up, Hiratsuka Shizuka's expression improved considerably. She then pointed to the classical Chinese question on the blackboard and asked him to answer.

"One day apart, like three autumns!"

"Kamiya-san, please translate this ancient Yan Country text and state its origin."

Kamiya Yu's eyes were fixed on the blackboard as he immediately responded.

"Hiratsuka Shizuka, this line should be from 'Cai Ge', and it roughly means, 'One day without seeing him feels like many years; I've never been apart for so long!'"

After hearing Kamiya Yu's answer, Hiratsuka Shizuka nodded with satisfaction.

"Next time, don't sleep in my class. Even if you have to sleep, do it more discreetly."

Kamiya Yu heard Hiratsuka Shizuka's tacit permission and lowered his head to sleep again.

In his previous life, Kamiya Yu had undergone the baptism of so-called "Heavenly Dynasty education," having completed countless test papers and advanced knowledge points, emerging from millions of test-takers to knock on the door of a top-tier university.

Even so, Kamiya Yu could only rank outside the top 5,000 in his province, showing that there were many more people stronger than him. He wasn't a genius; he had simply grown up in a highly competitive environment, becoming exceptionally resilient.

In Sakurajima Country today, schools advocate happy education, with high school students finishing at 4 PM daily, allowing them to fully enjoy club activities. Furthermore, the knowledge taught in schools is not advanced; everything is very basic.

Frankly, the college entrance examination in Sakurajima Country is simpler. Students only need to choose independently, participate in the entrance examination of their desired school, and can enroll if they pass.

In such circumstances, Kamiya Yu's grades in all subjects were considered excellent. In the last entrance exam, he ranked second in the entire grade, just one point behind Yukinoshita Yukino, who was first.

The four morning classes passed in a haze for Kamiya Yu. It was now dismissal time, and many students were heading out.

At Soubu High School, apart from sports clubs that required extra training, other clubs did not hold activities, but the Service Club was an exception.

Kamiya Yu reluctantly hurried to the club room, and just as he was about to knock, he heard a commotion inside.

"Thump, thump, thump"

Kamiya Yu knocked on the door, and the noise inside stopped, followed by Yukinoshita Yukino's familiar voice.

"Please come in."

He pulled open the door and saw an extra person opposite his seat. Ignoring his confusion, he walked towards his seat.

"Kamiya-san, let me introduce you. That's the club's slipper, please just ignore him!"

Yukinoshita Yukino looked at Kamiya Yu, describing Hikigaya-kun in a gentle tone.

"Come on, Yukinoshita-san, even if I don't know how I offended you, I can't be less than human, can I?"

Hearing Hikigaya Hachiman's words, Kamiya Yu finally turned his gaze towards him. Kamiya Yu's first impression was his eyes, which were etched onto his face like a pair of "dead fish eyes," and his black hair and black eyes gave him a rather refined appearance.

"Hello, my name is Hikigaya Hachiman, from Class 2-F."

Seeing Kamiya Yu observing him, Hikigaya Hachiman greeted him politely. Looking back at Kamiya Yu, he felt a sense of kinship.

"He should be pretty easy to get along with," Hikigaya Hachiman thought.

"Hello, Hikigaya-san, my name is Kamiya Yu, a student from Class 2-J. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Kamiya Yu slightly raised his head, revealing a handsome yet melancholic face, and looked at Hikigaya Hachiman.

"Damn it, why is this guy even more handsome than me?"

Hikigaya Hachiman, across from him, saw Kamiya's appearance and thought, rolling his "dead fish eyes." The corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily.

"Hikigaya-san, your surname contains Hachiman. Is it because you were born on August 8th?"

Hikigaya Hachiman was a little surprised, not expecting Kamiya to observe so carefully that he had guessed it.

"Yes, my parents, to avoid trouble, named me directly according to the date," Hikigaya Hachiman nodded and then said.

The two chatted for a while, and Kamiya Yu felt like they were having a good time. Perhaps he could become friends with him. Both in his previous life and this one, his social circle was very narrow, and the word "friend" was very unfamiliar to him.

Yukinoshita Yukino, beside him, interjected, "Alright, both of you, it's time to start club activities."

"Is it a club activity where we sit still and see who can sit the longest?"

Hikigaya Hachiman rubbed his head, his sharp tongue fully unleashed.

Inside the classroom, Yukinoshita Yukino closed her book, brushed her hair, tilted her head, and spoke softly with a cold tone.

"That's right, Hikigaya-san, please stay still until the club activities end. Oh, and there are still two hours left until club activities end."

After Yukinoshita Yukino finished speaking, a smile appeared on her face, and she looked kindly at Hikigaya Hachiman. Kamiya Yu, sitting in his seat, dared not intervene in their confrontation.

"S-sorry," Hikigaya Hachiman shifted his head to the side, muttering softly with an extremely unwilling tone.

"Today's Defeat: Hikigaya Hachiman."

After this small interlude, the three went about their respective activities. Kamiya Yu, of course, continued to draw manga. His right hand moved continuously, and a classroom appeared on the manuscript paper. Kamiya Yu used perspective drawing to continuously stretch the classroom scene, allowing the reader's initial gaze to fall on Kuse Shizuka.

The girl's desk was covered with vulgarities and various mocking words. Shizuka bowed her head, her eyes listless, facing the daily bullying.
