Chapter 425 - Chapter 425: Nero's Cat Cake

Ruan Mei said quite a bit about her thoughts on this experiment and the invitation, then paused slightly.

The genius looked up at the starry sky outside the platform, thinking about something. At last, a barely noticeable smile appeared at the corner of her lips.

"I have to admit, those little ones that were born during the process could be quite touching at times."

As soon as she said that, Nero and Stelle immediately knew she was talking about the Cat Cakes and Shaomai Dogs.

"In them, I saw something human-like. It is the complete opposite of divinity, they have emotions."

"Emotions may be positive or negative. But among them, the love rooted deep in the heart is something that never changes."

"They are still far from being geniuses, so they cannot tell whether that love is friendship, romantic love, or family affection."

"But can a genius truly tell the difference? At least I cannot... I don't understand what 'love' is, nor do I know how to respond to their feelings."

After saying that, Ruan Mei let out a quiet breath. The little warmth of humanity she still possessed continued to guide all of her thoughts.

Though that warmth was tiny, it was still enough to shine for a brief moment, like plum blossoms blooming in the cold of winter.

"Heh... As for how those little ones should be cared for, I think staying on the space station may be the best choice."

"It probably sounds irresponsible. I'm sorry. When it comes to my own creations, I often don't know how to face them."

"As for what happened this time, my original plan was that after the anti-truth serum wore off, another medicine would begin to take effect, allowing you to slowly forget these unpleasant memories."

Ruan Mei looked at Nero.

"But now, it seems that no matter what I do, I won't be able to make that happen."

"The interesting surprises that appeared during the experiment made me happy, but I still don't want too many or overly large changes to happen. As for these matters... do as you wish."

"Screwllum will stay on the space station for a while longer. He and Herta still have some issues to resolve. But I'll be leaving soon."

"Oh, then goodbye. But I hope the next time you do research, you'll add a little more humanity to it," Nero said.

Ruan Mei raised an eyebrow. The incarnation of the Fragment of Beauty spoke with sharp words, every sentence carrying hidden barbs.

But then she narrowed her eyes slightly and seriously thought about it. Perhaps the boy in front of her was simply making a suggestion.

It was a new way of looking at things, and an interesting topic.

If Aeons and Emanators who had once been human existed, how could they not still retain some of their humanity?

———

There was still a lot to prepare before departing for Penacony, so the Astral Express would remain at the space station for a while longer.

Everyone on the train lived a very regular life. Every day, Nero repeated the same routine, eat, sleep, walk the dog, play games. His days felt full, yet somehow not quite full.

Still, Xianzhou people lived for a very long time, and the Luofu was relatively peaceful. It was perfectly normal for life to move at a slower pace.

Although this child hadn't actually lived on the Luofu for very long. It was simply his personality.

During this time, a few interesting things happened.

After Ruan Mei left, she actually sent messages to Stelle asking about the recent condition of Bean Paste Graygray and Cheese Lava.

During their casual chat, Stelle thought of that lonely plaster head with no friends, so she asked Ruan Mei whether they were friends.

As it turned out, Ruan Mei knew nothing about it.

Then there were the other little creatures Ruan Mei had created. Asta had now settled all of them inside the Seclusion Zone.

Besides that, Nero and Stelle spent quite a while messing around in the Seclusion Zone and created many more new things...

A whole pile of Cat Cakes with all kinds of different appearances.

The two of them saw familiar figures in these Cat Cakes. There was one wearing tiny black sunglasses, one with a personality as blunt as Herta's, one that looked like Dan Heng, one like March, one carrying a trash can, and many others.

One Cat Cake, pure white with a few light yellow flower petals decorating it, looking just like osmanthus cake, was one of Stelle's favorite creations.

It had a quiet personality but was extremely strong in battle. Nero and Stelle had once been lucky enough to witness this little one, together with another Cat Cake created by Stelle that was red and white with a shell shaped like a rose, defeat every one of Ruan Mei's creations in the Seclusion Zone.

The Cat Cakes Nero created, however, made people frown even more.

There was one with brown fur and a gray-white shell. A crack ran across its shell, with golden honey syrup flowing out of it.

There was another bright red one that looked especially festive, with colorful popping candy sprinkled all over its shell.

This one loved excitement. While the Osmanthus Cat Cake led the Rose Cat Cake in beating up the other creations, it stood nearby cheering louder than anyone.

There was also a light-colored one whose shell looked like mung bean cake, decorated with cherry bits. Every day it was chased around and beaten by another Cat Cake that looked very fierce and had a blueberry flavor.

Finally, after Nero repeatedly asked, Asta agreed to let him take all these strangely familiar-looking Cat Cakes back onto the train.

Like the other creatures Nero had collected, these Cat Cakes were all kept in his room.

Watching all this, Phantylia didn't even know what to say anymore. She had finally figured it out.

This kid seemed to have a collecting habit.

Thinking that she herself was also one of the collected items made Phantylia feel even stranger.

Besides all of that, one more thing happened.

The number of Herta puppets on the space station suddenly seemed to have dropped by a lot, to the point where they had all disappeared.

Many employees discussed the matter in the space station's group chat. Somehow, as the story spread, it turned into a rumor that Herta had been attacked.

Of course, some people came up with another theory. Although that theory was quickly proven wrong, Stelle had also been one of the people who believed it at first.

When she first realized the Herta puppets had disappeared, Stelle thought it was the work of Nero's fan club.

She had even thought the space station was finally about to officially change its name.

But after thinking about it carefully, although Nero's fans could also go crazy like fans of famous idols across the universe, that craziness was only directed at themselves.

When dealing with other people or other matters, they were all very serious, careful, and well-mannered.

They would recommend and introduce the person they supported to you, but they would never force it on anyone.

They would never suddenly invade someone else's personal space, nor would they do anything extreme unless under very special circumstances.

The Nero Fan Club had existed on the space station for a long time and was still growing. After so much time, whether someone liked Nero, didn't like Nero, was about to become a fan of Nero, or was obsessed with Nero beyond reason, everyone understood the nature of the "Nero Knights."

So the theory that Herta Space Station was about to be renamed was quickly thrown out.

Just when Stelle began to feel that things had become rather serious, she decided to go take a look at Herta's office.

Then, something unexpected happened.

The instant the little Stellaron baby stepped into the office, before she even had time to clearly see the familiar room and its layout, her mind suddenly grew heavy, as if someone had shocked her with a stun gun.

The next moment, everything went black, and Stelle lost consciousness.
