The Nine Leaders approached Ren.
Ren saw them. He was happy. "My children," he whispered. "You came for me."
He reached out to hug Ignis. Ignis screamed as his fire arm aged into ash. But Ignis did not run. "Now!" Ignis shouted.
Terra slammed his hands into the earth. He reversed gravity. Ren was lifted into the sky.
Ferro clapped his hands. The iron in the earth shot up, forming a cage of spikes around Ren.
Ren was confused. "Why do you trap me? I am your God."
"You are our Death," Guan whispered in Ren's mind.
Ren felt Betrayal. Betrayal is cold. It froze Ren's heart. And when a heart freezes, it stops seeking warmth.
Ren stopped walking. He curled into a ball. "Fine," Ren whispered. "If you do not want me, I will sleep."
The cage closed.
