Chapter 93 - The New World

One Year Later]

Aethelgard still floated, but the engines were different now. They ran on magic, not the torture of a prisoner.

The System was gone. No more blue boxes. No more levels. People had to learn magic the hard way—by studying, by training. The monsters were still there, but they were part of nature now, not spawned by code.

In the center of the city, a new Council sat. Rix was the Head Engineer, teaching people how to maintain the ancient tech.

And Kaelen? Kaelen sat on the edge of the highest spire, looking down at the clouds. The clouds were thinning. For the first time in centuries, you could see the green of the Surface below.

He held a black box in his hand. It was empty. He wasn't a God. He refused to be worshipped. He was just the Warden.

He watched the horizon, making sure the Grey Fog never returned. He took a bite of an apple. It tasted real.
