"Crak," "blam... blam." Zane and Viola continued to fight, killing endless zombies that kept coming at them, whether out of curiosity or sheer hunger. Although Zane's and Viola's heads were starting to spin and their bodies were weakening to the point where they had to lean on each other, they didn't give up.
In a desperate situation, Zane pulled Viola to the edge of the window while continuing to shoot the zombies coming into the room. Zane looked down. The street was like a sea of zombies. Zane began to think hard. He and Viola were truly at the edge of a cliff, where every direction was wrong.
If he jumped down, even if he didn't die from the fall, he would certainly die, devoured by zombies. Going up was impossible while carrying the injured Viola, and they would surely be caught. As for forcing their way out of the room, the result was unthinkable. Finally, Zane turned to look at Viola.
"Hey, Viola, are you married yet?" Zane asked recklessly.
"Huh... why ask that? Um... no, I'm only 19," Viola replied.
"Huh... I thought you were older than me," Zane replied.
"Oh, come on, I'm an intern at this office... I'm still in college," Viola replied, pouting.
"Haha... sorry," Zane replied.
Suddenly, Zane rotated his backpack. He took out a grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it down. He immediately knelt on one knee in front of Viola, took her hand, and placed the grenade pin on her ring finger. "Blaar," a loud explosion sounded below.
"Viola, will you marry me?" Zane asked.
Of course, Viola was shocked to see Zane kneeling on one knee in front of her and placing the grenade pin on her finger. She looked at the zombies still trying to enter the room, then she looked at the handsome Zane, with black hair and a proportional body. Finally, she smiled.
"You're crazy, but of course, my answer is definitely YES, I will," Viola replied, crying.
Zane immediately stood up. He hugged Viola, who hugged him back, and they immediately kissed. Two people who had just met and introduced themselves finally belonged to each other at the end of their lives, but suddenly Viola vomited fresh blood from her mouth. Zane saw blood starting to come out of Viola's eyes and nose.
"Are you alright?" Zane asked.
"I don't know... hold me, Zane," Viola replied weakly.
Zane immediately embraced Viola once more, and suddenly, "graah," Viola, who was turning into a zombie, bit Zane's shoulder. Of course, Zane smiled. He pointed his pistol at Viola's head.
"Goodbye, my wife," Zane said.
"Blam," he immediately shot Viola in the head, then slowly released Viola's body and laid her on the floor. Zane sat down in despair next to the motionless Viola. He held Viola's head and no longer felt the pain of his own wound. He saw many zombies still stuck in the doorway, trying to get in. Zane closed his eyes in resignation, but suddenly he felt a bright light and opened his eyes again. Zane was surprised to see a large magic circle below him emitting a bright glow.
"Huh... what is this?" Zane wondered.
Before Zane could process what was happening to him, he vanished. The magic circle also disappeared, leaving Viola lying on the floor.

Easteria, Heinz City. On a building like a European medieval fortress tower located on a hill far outside the city, on the fortress roof, a scientist was busy in the middle of a heavy rain. He placed strange machines and a large tube filled with a green liquid.
Directly beneath the large tube was a large, complicated magic circle. "Jleger," lightning began to flash among the dark clouds. The scientist looked up.
"Quickly.... quickly," he muttered.
Hurriedly, he pushed his machine to the right of the tube, then connected a large cable from the machine to the tube and attached small cables to a component box at the bottom of the tube. When finished, he stood and looked into the tube.
Inside the tube was a naked male body full of stitches, except for his face. The man was moving as if struggling; his body was starting to turn into a zombie.
"A little longer.... a little longer, my experiment will succeed," he said happily.
He immediately rushed to the machine and pressed several buttons. "Wuuung," the sound of the machine starting up was heard. A stream of green light began to fill the magic circle beneath the tube. After the magic circle was full and glowing brightly, he pulled the lever down with all his might until he fell.
"Kriiiiek," a lightning rod rose from behind the tube to the top of the tube and stood upright. "Jleger.... blaar," a very loud sound of thunder was heard, and the scientist saw lightning strike the lightning rod until the entire tube emitted a bright, dazzling light.
The scientist covered his eyes with his arm, although curious, and peeked slightly from behind his arm. "Wuuung," the sound of the machine turning off was heard. The light of the magic circle and the tube began to dim. "Crrt... crrt," there was still an electric current in the tube moving from top to bottom.
Slowly, the scientist approached and circled to the front to see the front of the tube. He looked very curious. When he arrived in front of the tube, his face immediately looked happy, seeing a pair of green glowing eyes inside the tube.
"I... I succeeded... I succeeded... he's alive.... he's alive... hahahahaha," the scientist jumped for joy in front of the tube.
Meanwhile, inside the tube, "ugh," Zane woke up and opened his eyes. "Huh?" He was immediately surprised because he was in a liquid, but strangely, he didn't feel short of breath at all and didn't feel like he was drowning. He turned to look at a middle-aged man who was thin, bald, and only had black hair above his ears, wearing goggles like swimming goggles and a pair of gloves, jumping and dancing in front of the tube.
"What is this? Where is this?" Zane asked, confused.
His hand went up but couldn't move because it was caught on a cable. He moved his legs, and the result was the same. Finally, he shook his whole body until all the cables attached to his body came off. His hand went up to hold the tube and knocked on the glass, but the doctor-dressed man in front of him was still dancing without looking at him.
"What the hell? Hey, open up," Zane said, but he immediately grabbed his neck because he couldn't speak underwater.
Finally, he raised his hand and clenched it into a fist. He intended to knock hard on the glass so the man in front of his tube would hear, but suddenly his fist fell, dangling loose from his wrist. Two barrels resembling shotgun barrels emerged from inside his wrist, and "blam," the two shotgun barrels fired two large, green, electrically charged fireballs.
"Prang," "splaat," the two fireballs shattered the glass tube and shot directly into the head of the man in front of him. The man's head was immediately shattered, and his body fell backward onto the ground, covered in blood.
"Wait.... what is this? Why did my hand come off and.... a shotgun? What happened to me?" Zane asked, shocked.
He took his hand. The automatic shotgun barrels retreated into his wrist before Zane reattached his hand. Once attached, Zane examined his hand by raising it directly in front of his face. He tried clenching and releasing his fist. It turned out his hand looked slender and had long, thin fingers, different from human fingers in general.
"Whose hand is this?" he wondered.
Seeing that all the liquid in the tube had come out and the tube was dry, Zane jumped out of the tube through the broken glass gap. Once outside, he saw the headless corpse of a man lying supine with his arms outstretched on the floor. The liquid that came out of the tube was mixed with blood and the raindrops that were still falling from the sky. Zane was silent, looking at the corpse in front of him.
"This man... died because of me, right? But why don't I feel anything? I don't feel guilty, I don't feel sad, and I don't feel happy. This is strange," Zane wondered.
He turned to look around. He saw he was in a high place. Zane walked to the edge of the wall, then he looked down. A vast expanse of city was visible far in front of him. Zane looked to the right, to the left, then down. He realized that he was now in a round tower with black stone walls, making the entire tower black, on top of a hill located slightly outside the city.
Zane saw that the tower was deliberately built outside the city and as if functioned as an observer of conditions outside the city.
"Where is this....? Does my city have a tower like this, and why does the city look like an old European city? There are no concrete jungles and no highways for cars," Zane wondered.
After satisfying his gaze down, Zane turned around. "Cpyuk... cpyuk," the tower roof floor was already flooded with water from the rainfall, which was still coming down, though not as heavily as before. Zane stepped toward the door behind the strange machine, which was no longer running and was emitting smoke because it had burned out.
"Kreek," Zane opened the thick, heavy wooden door and entered the tower. He descended the stairs and saw a beam of light coming from a door at the end of the stairs.
While descending, he looked at a chain next to the stairs and looked up. It turned out there was a pulley pulling a board connected to a chain, like a simple elevator design operated manually. Zane entered the room right below the stairs. His eyes widened because he saw a room full of messy bookshelves, tables covered with documents, as well as ampoule bottles like in a laboratory.
Papers were scattered on the floor, and the room was illuminated by a lamp on the wall, the color of a torch. Everything in the room stunned him because he had never seen anything like it in his life. Zane began to step inside.
