Chapter 157 - Instinct

"Master Soren… is this kind of magic really something a human can cast?"

"Isn't this supposed to be ninjutsu from the Ninja Continent?"

After directing the two Throne Angels to gently place Clementine's frozen sculpture onto the ground, the angels themselves—already eroded by the frigid mana—finally shattered into fragments of light.

Lilynette stared at the icebound world stretching over a hundred meters ahead. Shock filled her eyes, but beneath it burned a far deeper emotion—longing for power.

If she could reach such a level… then no matter what happened in the future, she would always have a place under Master Soren's banner.

Not as a woman who relied on beauty.

Not as a bureaucrat who handled paperwork.

Both of those could easily be replaced.

"This isn't ninjutsu," Soren said calmly. "It's Primordial Magic, a system that vanished from the continent long ago. Only true Dragon Kings are capable of wielding it."

Seeing the confusion in Lilynette's gaze, he continued,

"I fused Frost Dragon blood into my body. By digging deeply into that bloodline, I awakened a low-tier Primordial Magic—Frostmourne."

He rubbed his temples slightly.

Every use of Primordial Magic consumed an enormous amount of mental energy. Without Six Paths–level spiritual power, casting it would be impossible.

Mid-tier Primordial Magic began to consume the soul itself.

High-tier Primordial Magic surpassed even Super-Tier Magic, and some spells carried effects comparable to World-Class Items.

Without World Protection, one could not even resist them.

The only alternative was overwhelming, world-level power—

Just as a millennium ago, when the two Ōtsutsuki brothers clashed head-on with the Dragon Emperor.

"…Master Soren," Lilynette asked hesitantly, yet with blazing resolve,

"Can I also undergo Frost Dragon bloodline transplantation?"

"The current success rate is extremely low," he replied honestly. "One mistake means death. Even in the Ninja World, only specific clans have higher compatibility. And even then, many turn into mindless dragon-beasts."

"Even so, I want to try!"

Her voice was firm.

Soren looked down at her—this woman who moaned like a courtesan in bed, yet now stood like a high priestess in a grand cathedral, offering an unwavering prayer to her god.

"…Why?"

"I want to stand with Lady Minako," Lilynette said. "To charge into battle for you. To guard a domain in your name."

"…You're not afraid of death?"

"I am."

The blunt honesty made Soren laugh softly. He reached out and ruffled her hair.

"You'll get your chance. Not now."

Then he added lightly,

"For the moment, let's collect the spoils of war."

"Thank you, Master Soren!"

Overjoyed, Lilynette stepped forward—only to be yanked back.

Thunk.

She clutched her head, eyes watery with grievance.

"Have you even looked outside?" Soren said dryly. "Step out of the barrier and you'll turn into a popsicle."

He pinched her soft cheek and chuckled.

"I don't want my milk-cow priestess turning into a solid block of ice. That wouldn't be very fun to play with."

"Master Soren, you're awful~"

She deliberately pushed out her chest; the buttons on her outfit strained to their limits, white fabric barely containing the spring scenery beneath.

They teased each other for a while. As they did, the freezing magic of Frostmourne began to dissipate rapidly.

Low-tier Primordial Magic lay roughly between Tier 9 and Tier 10.

Mid-tier surpassed Super-Tier Magic.

High-tier completely eclipsed it.

Its effects were terrifying—but short-lived.

Soon, the snow-filled world faded away.

Soren dismissed the magic barrier, cast a warming spell, and stepped onto the frost-covered ground with Lilynette.

"Brr—!"

Even with protection, Lilynette shivered. Soren, however, felt refreshed. His Frost Dragon bloodline stirred joyfully within him.

"While everything's frozen, the temple's traps won't activate," he said. "Let's check inside."

The underground passage had already been exposed. They walked effortlessly across the frozen path into a vast subterranean cavern.

At its center stood several stone pillars arranged around a massive magic array.

The influence of Frostmourne couldn't reach here.

The array glowed faintly. With his extensive magical knowledge, Soren quickly recognized its function—negative energy absorption, followed by explosive release.

He memorized the structure.

He planned to replicate it inside his personal subspace, allowing the planar teleport core to absorb ambient energy and automatically draw in worlds of similar energy levels.

To achieve that, his main body would need to continue refining spatial and formation arts.

Summoning magic from the Magic Continent was also worth deep study.

The Destruction Dragon Lord was one path.

Angels were another.

Even the high-tech world Bone King Suzuki Satoru once came from—

Countless worlds existed.

And one day, all would kneel before a single master.

Leaving the cleaned-out underground base, Lilynette searched through Khajit's remains with magical hands.

Nothing usable remained.

Everything had been frozen into dust.

Soren turned his gaze to Clementine's ice sculpture.

Her eyes were wide with terror.

No life remained.

Under the侵蚀 of frigid mana, Clementine—mere flesh and blood—had been frozen to death without even feeling pain.

The temperature continued to rise, yet the lifelike ice sculpture showed no sign of melting.

Ice condensed from Primordial frost mana wouldn't melt even under the sun—

It would take dozens of days naturally.

This frozen land was still absorbing ambient water-aspected mana.

Left alone, it might solidify forever.

The magic world obeyed no mundane logic.

Placing his hand on the ice, Soren felt it clearly—

His LV10 Frost Dragon bloodline, a level even the Frost Dragon King himself never reached.

Dragon growth followed age—

But bloodline strength required excavation.

That was the difference between ordinary dragons and True Dragon Kings.

With his maxed Frost Dragon bloodline, controlling ice-aspected mana had become pure instinct.

Melting the ice sculpture would take no effort at all.
