Chapter 170 - Dividing the Treasures

"The Spear of the Longinus!"

The moment the system confirmed Demiurge's death, Momonga shot up from his chair.

Then—

The racial trait of the undead activated.

Forced Calm.

Anxiety. Fury. Shock.

All wiped clean.

Only razor-sharp clarity remained.

"Momonga-sama, what is the matter?"

The maid at his side gasped, worry blooming across her youthful face.

Before he could answer, the heavy doors burst open.

A stunning figure strode in urgently.

"Momonga-sama! Demiurge has most likely perished outside!"

Momonga already knew.

The notification had made it unmistakable.

A death equivalent to deletion.

A calamity-tier World Item.

The infamous one known in-game as the "Account-Deletion Spear."

Longinus.

A World-Class Item ranked among The Twenty.

It erased both the wielder and the target entirely.

Player data. NPC data.

Gone.

To restore a player required another resurrection-type World Item.

For NPCs—

The guild's total creatable NPC level pool would permanently decrease.

And now—

Nazarick's total level cap had dropped by 100.

Momonga's mind worked coldly.

If Nazarick could cross worlds—

Other players could as well.

"Albedo."

"You are the Guardian Overseer."

"Compose yourself."

His voice carried absolute authority.

Albedo immediately dropped to one knee, face flushed with shame.

"Yes, Momonga-sama!"

"Demiurge's death is confirmed. Nazarick enters maximum alert status immediately."

"All surface adventurers are to be exterminated."

"This is only the beginning."

"They will pay in blood."

To Momonga, the NPCs were not tools.

They were the crystallization of his guildmates' effort.

In a sense—

They were the children of Ainz Ooal Gown.

And he, their guildmaster—

Their guardian.

Demiurge's death felt like losing family.

And it was his order that had sent him outside.

Guilt flickered—

Then was suppressed by undead clarity.

"Yes!"

Albedo departed swiftly.

Momonga returned to the Tenth Floor.

He seated himself upon the World Item—

The Throne of Kings.

A massive crystalline throne.

Its effects:

Guild-wide defensive buffsPerfect immunity against external magical surveillanceAbsolute protection against interference from other World ItemsEven against those ranked among The TwentyTotal isolation from information-type spells

Nazarick became its own sealed micro-world.

Untouchable.

Below, on the surface shrine—

Adventurers screamed.

Slaughter unfolded.

Momonga felt no pity.

Only anger.

To revive Demiurge—

He would need a resurrection-tier World Item.

Somewhere in an alien world.

Perhaps even another continent—the Ninja World.

It was like searching the ocean for a single grain of sand.

But—

He was immortal.

Time was his ally.

"One day… I will find it."

"To do so—world conquest is necessary."

Only by controlling the world could he control fate.

Longinus itself—

Though single-use and respawning somewhere else—

Was also now a priority target.

Even a level 1 villager wielding it could erase a level 100 entity lacking a World Item.

Its absurdity made it invaluable.

Sebas approached, accompanied by the Pleiades Battle Maids.

At Momonga's gesture, the maids remained behind.

Sebas advanced alone.

Through the projection—

They watched as Albedo deployed multiple Guardians.

The adventurers were massacred in waves.

Within minutes—

Silence returned to the surface shrine.

All Guardians except Gargantua and Victim gathered in the Throne Room.

Cocytus spoke first.

His frozen voice grated like shattered ice.

"Captured?"

"A humiliation that can only be washed away with blood!"

Albedo's concern was more analytical.

"Momonga-sama, Demiurge and the three demon generals were far from weak."

"Even Sebas and Cocytus together could at best defeat them—not annihilate them completely."

"To accomplish that, the enemy must either exceed level 100…"

"Or possess a World Item."

Momonga nodded slowly.

"I share that conclusion."

Treasures hoarded without use were meaningless.

If their wielder died—

They became spoils.

He would not make that mistake.

And so—

Momonga began distributing World-Class Items.

At its peak, Ainz Ooal Gown had only forty-one members.

Yet it ranked among the Top Ten guilds in Yggdrasil.

Even surpassing thousand-member guilds.

Why?

Because it possessed more World Items than nearly any other guild—

Three times more than the second place guild.

Now—

They would be armed.

Fully.

If war came—

Nazarick would not bleed again.
