"Why do you still need to consider it?" Shichen asked dejectedly, his shoulders slumping.
"It would be strange not to consider it, wouldn't it? Why should I go to other worlds with you? Isn't it fine for me to stay here?" Frieren retorted.
"What's the difference between your way of thinking and a salted fish?" Shichen grumbled, grabbing her small head and messing up her hair, making her body sway back and forth.
"Don't be so rough, I'm getting dizzy." Frieren slapped his hand away, unable to bear it.
"How was I rough? You're just too delicate."
"I'm older than you."
"What's the point of comparing age? If you have the guts, compare height and weight." Shichen puffed out his chest proudly.
Frieren looked at him expressionlessly.
"Nothing to say now, huh?"
"Childish."
"This is called innocence." Shichen retorted with a smile.
"Then you can continue being innocent, I'm going to sleep, you can leave now." Frieren said, lying directly on the bed.
Her long silver hair spread out on the bed, as beautiful as a blooming white lotus.
"It's the middle of the afternoon, why are you sleeping? We haven't seen each other for only ninety-one days, have you already become this lazy?" Shichen twitched his mouth, looking at her speechlessly.
Frieren ignored him, rolled over, and turned her back to him: "Don't disturb me."
"I haven't even finished explaining yet."
"What else do you need to explain? No need to explain, I already know you will leave and you will come back, nothing else matters."
"Don't you have anything else you want to ask?"
"No, it's not as interesting as researching magic."
"If you say that, I'll have to be impolite." Shichen threatened.
"Suit yourself." Frieren was completely unafraid.
"You said it, remember?"
As Shichen spoke, he approached Frieren, extended both hands, one reaching for her leg bend, the other for her neck.
Then, with a gentle embrace, the petite Frieren was lifted into his arms.
Shichen felt her weight and walked outside.
"What are you doing?" Frieren frowned slightly, looking up at him.
"Didn't I say I'd be impolite?" Shichen lowered his head and smiled softly at her.
"Where are you going?"
"Outside, of course. Who sleeps in the middle of the afternoon? How old are you? You're not an old person."
"If I were human, I would indeed be an old person." Frieren retorted.
"But you're not human, you're an elf, so you're still a little kid."
"Hold on tight!" Shichen reminded her, then bounced her slightly.
Due to the loss of balance, Frieren instinctively hugged his neck.
Her slender arms felt a bit cold. Shichen looked at her, smiled, and strode outside.
Flamme was not outside. Shichen scanned the area, saw no sign of her, nor did he sense her presence.
She must have gone out again.
"Look at Master, then look at yourself, why are you so lazy?" Shichen began to lecture Frieren.
"Hmph, if I had gone out, would you have seen me immediately when you returned today?" Frieren pouted in response.
"Oh? So, you've been waiting for me all this time?"
"No."
"Haha~ Too embarrassed to admit it, right?"
"Let me down quickly!" Frieren began to struggle.
"Got it, got it." Shichen bent down and gently put her down.
Frieren stood firm, feeling the ground beneath her feet, then asked Shichen: "Tell me, what do you want to do?"
"Teach me magic." Shichen smiled slightly.
"Hmm?" Frieren was startled for a moment.
"Is there a problem?"
"No... What magic do you want to learn?"
"Of course, I want to learn everything you know! Before, I didn't have magic power and didn't learn many spells, but now I want to learn them all!"
"Greediness spoils the broth."
"It's fine, we have plenty of time."
"When... when are you leaving?"
"I'm not sure, but I should stay for a while. You don't need to worry, just think of it as me going on a long trip occasionally, just like Master."
"Is that so…?" Frieren nodded.
"Not angry anymore, are you?"
"When was I ever angry?"
"Then why did you immediately leave when you heard I was leaving?" Shichen looked at her amusedly.
"I was just sleepy and wanted to come back to sleep, is there a problem?"
"Alright, alright, we'll just assume that's the case." Shichen dotingly ruffled her head.
Frieren slapped his hand away in dissatisfaction: "Do you still want to learn magic or not?"
"Yes."
"Then have a proper attitude."
"How dare you speak to your Senior Brother like that?"
"Then I won't teach you." Frieren turned to leave.
"Alright, alright, I'll listen to you." Shichen quickly grabbed her shoulders and raised his hands in surrender.
His gaze couldn't help but fall on her shoulders.
Frieren was wearing a simple spaghetti strap dress, which could even be called pajamas. Her shoulders were smooth and fair,
almost translucent, and felt slightly cool to the touch.
He planned to find an opportunity to ask her if she wanted a massage. It was only natural for a Senior Brother to massage his Junior Sister.
It could also serve as compensation for learning magic.
Throughout the afternoon, Shichen learned magic from Frieren. Although his learning speed was very fast, there were quite a few spells, and it would take at least two or three days to learn them all.
Frieren taught very seriously, and Shichen could clearly feel her love for magic, so he didn't fool around in the middle.
It wasn't until evening, when Flamme returned, that Shichen finished his magic lessons.
They no longer ate roasted meat in the evening. Shichen made meat soup with some vegetables, which was still very delicious.
He didn't know if the animals and plants in this world could also absorb magic, but the taste was excellent, and no seasoning was needed at all.
If it were in a cultivation world, animals and plants would be spiritual beasts or spiritual herbs, containing spiritual energy,
which would naturally make them delicious.
However, eating the animals and plants in this world couldn't increase one's magic power.
After dinner, Shichen was responsible for washing dishes and tidying up, while Flamme researched magic and Frieren cultivated magic power.
The three divided their labor reasonably.
After all, Shichen didn't need to cultivate magic power. With his current magic power, there wouldn't be much change unless he went into seclusion for several hundred years.
However, while cleaning, he suddenly realized something important: he could clearly use magic to clean, so why was he doing it himself?
Indeed, he still hadn't adapted to his identity as someone beyond a mortal.
But it wasn't a big deal. Sometimes, doing things manually was quite good, and it definitely wasn't because his mind wasn't working well.
After simply convincing himself, Shichen walked out of the small house and sat down between Frieren and Flamme.
Frieren was sitting with her eyes closed, meditating, so Shichen could only strike up a conversation with Flamme: "Master, what magic are you researching?"
"This magic seems to be able to make the soil softer."
"That's a really good magic."
"Haha~ Don't think this magic is useless. Every magic definitely has its own meaning."
Flamme said with a smile.
"I know, this magic is very useful for the villagers."
"You understand quite a bit, don't you?"
"Well, certainly more than Frieren."
Frieren didn't respond, still cultivating her magic power with her eyes closed.
"Heh heh, stop bullying Frieren, she's still young."
"Master, she's much older than us."
"Don't you know she's an elf? She's different from us humans."
"Master is biased."
"If I were biased, I wouldn't have waited for you until now." Flamme shook her head and smiled.
"Wait for me?"
"Yes, now that you're back, I plan to take you two to meet my Master."
