Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Bella’s scholarship

CHAPTER 1

 THE JOURNEY BEGINS

It was the end of Summer break And Numeria High School was giving out Scholarships to all their best Students who did so well In their final year exams

Hey Ella !!!, Becky said as She looked at Bella with a big Smile on her face

Hey, Beck !! Bella Replied as she smashed the looker door closed with astonishment In her voice.

Bella Is a black beautiful African girl who Is from the eastern part of Nigeria. She is part of the school's brightest. She devours books on physics fascinated by the laws governing the universe. Her laughter echoed through the hallway drawing so much attention to her. Good in math just like her dad. Her figure 8-shaped body is slim but rounded measures similar to her hips creating a breathtaking symmetry. The gentle inward curve of her waist creates a beautiful contrast, accentuating the soft sensual swell of her hips and thighs which makes it so difficult for both genders to take their eyes off her.

"Bella's face lit up in excitement. "Did you get the scholarship, Becky?' Her full lips curling into a hopeful smile"

"Yes, girl! I'm finally escaping my dad's rules. Becky exclaimed as she turned to join Bella, and together they walked out of the school entrance, leaving the familiar walls behind.

"The scent of native jollof rice wafted from the kitchen, mingling with the faint tag of Naomi's perfume. Bella's stomach growled in anticipation as she dropped her school bag onto the worn wooden couch, its cushions softened by years of laughter and tears.

"Mom I'm home" Bella greeted as she walked towards the kitchen direction

"Oh Isabella, welcome home dear!. "When did you arrive I didn't even notice" Naomi whined like a little puppy trying to frantically wipe away tears in her eyes not wanting to get seen, especially not by Bella.

"Bella noticing her mom's suspicious behavior, knew what exactly had happened so seeing her mom's discomfort she tried as much as possible to avert her gaze.

"Not quite long, " Bella said as She reached for the envelope in her bag.

"I got the scholarship" Bella exclaimed as she passed the envelope to her mom.

"You got what?" Naomi shouted as she turned to bella's direction.

"I said I got the scholarship" Bella's eyes sparked in joy as she knew what was coming next.

With a squeal of delight, Naomi swiped Bella off the ground into her arms twirling around the room in an impromptu dance with joy and spun. Bellas nestled tightly closed as she tapped her mom. "Mom, I think I can't breathe" Naomi panting so heavily as she said "Oh sorry so sorry" in surprise.

Releasing her grip on Bella, as they both smiled mirroring each other, Creating a strong symphony of joy in the atmosphere.

"Nkwanu, when are you leaving?"Naomi said in her Igbo dialect as she folded the envelope in joy. "I and Becky got our admissions at the same time so the school has confirmed that we are leaving together Bella Replied as she walked her mom to the kitchen.

The next day, "Bella, hurry! You don't want to miss your flight" Naomi shouted as she placed Bellas things into the back booth of the taxi as they drove to the airport.

"Getting to the airport", Bella was mesmerized by the airport's cavernous interior which swallowed the sounds of people's laughter, replacing it with the hum of announcements and the constant rush of footsteps and rolling suitcases. Outside planes taxied on the runway, their engines roaring like distant thunder.

"As Bella navigated the airport's bustling terminal, the din of announcements and chatter enveloped her. Suddenly, her gaze dropped to her hand, and her heart skipped a beat. There, nestled between her fingers, was the scholarship letter - its crisp, white envelope bearing the McGill University crest. The bold, navy-blue font seemed to leap off the page: 'Congratulations, Bella...'.

A jolt of electricity coursed through her veins. Excitement and nervousness tangled together like tangled threads, making her breath catch. Bella's fingers trembled as if the paper might disintegrate if she grasped it too tightly. A smile spread, hesitant at first, then radiant. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes.

Her mind raced: What if this is really happening? What if I'm truly going to McGill? The thought sent her stomach into somersaults. Anticipation wrestled with apprehension, leaving her lightheaded.

Bella's eyes scanned the letter, devouring every word. Each sentence reinforced the reality: she'd done it. She'd earned it. The airport's chaos receded, and all that remained was the letter, its words pulsating with promise.

"Bella's mind was a whirlpool of emotions, swirling with excitement, nervousness, and anticipation. The scholarship letter's words danced before her eyes: 'Congratulations, Bella...'. She felt:

Euphoric: I did it!

Fearful: What if I fail?

Proud: I'm going to McGill!

Doubtful: Am I ready?

As she stood suspended in her thoughts, a familiar voice pierced the airport's din.

"Bella!" Becky shouted, waving enthusiastically.

Bella's gaze snapped towards the sound. Becky rushed towards her, a bright smile on her face. Beside Becky stood a tall, imposing figure - Becky's dad.

Naomi, standing closely behind Bella, leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "Who's that man with Becky, sweetie?"

Bella's thoughts scrambled to adjust to the sudden interruption. She turned to Naomi, her voice equally hushed. "It's Becky's dad."

Naomi's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze lingering on Becky's dad before returning to Bella. "Ah, okay."

As Becky approached, Bella's emotions shifted. Excitement took center stage, pushing doubts and fears aside.

"Becky!" Bella exclaimed, dropping her bag to hug her friend.

Becky's dad smiled warmly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hey, Bella! Congratulations on your scholarship!"

Bella's cheeks flushed, but her grin remained. "Thanks, Mr... um..."

"Call me Anderson," he said, chuckling.

As Bella hugged Becky, Anderson's gaze drifted to Naomi, standing beside her daughter. Their eyes met, and he smiled warmly.

"Hi, I'm Anderson, Becky's dad," he said, extending his hand.

Naomi's handshake was firm. "Naomi, Bella's mom. Nice to meet you."

Anderson's mind flashed back to a familiar face - Naomi's. He had seen her at school, but she had hurried away before he could approach.

"Naomi, would you like a ride to your destination?" Anderson asked, his tone genuine. "I'd be happy to drop you off."

Bella's eyes sparkled. "That would be great, Mom!" As they boarded their flight.

Naomi hesitated, her gaze searching Anderson's face. "Thank you, that's kind of you."

Anderson's motives weren't entirely altruistic. Naomi was the first woman to catch his attention since his divorce. Her warmth, kindness, and beauty had stirred something within him.

As they walked to the parking lot, Anderson couldn't help but notice Naomi's elegance, her poise. He found himself wanting to know her better.

As they drove away, Anderson glanced at Naomi, his heart beating slightly faster.

"I must say, I've seen you around school," Anderson said, casually. "But we've never formally met."

Naomi smiled. "Yes, I'm usually in a rush."

Anderson sensed a hint of guardedness, but his interest only deepened.

"I understand," he said. "Life can get busy."

The drive offered a chance to reconnect, to explore the spark between them.

As Anderson's words drifted through the air, Naomi's gaze drifted elsewhere, her mind consumed by the whirlwind of emotions swirling within. She nodded politely, her smile faint, but her thoughts were a thousand miles away.

Bella's departure loomed, casting a long shadow across Naomi's heart. Memories flooded her mind: Bella's first steps, her giggles, her tears. Each milestone marked a step closer to independence, and Naomi's grip on her daughter's hand seemed to slip.

As the car glided through the streets, Naomi's eyes gazed out the window, unseeing. Her life was flashing before her eyes - the sleepless nights, the countless worries, the unwavering love.

Concerns for Bella's future swirled:

Will she be happy at McGill?

Will she find her place in the world?

Will she stay true to herself?

Naomi's chest tightened, her breath catching. She felt the weight of letting go, of releasing her baby into the world.

Anderson's voice, a gentle hum in the background, barely registered. His words, though kind and genuine, couldn't penetrate the fortress of Naomi's thoughts.

"...and I'm sure Bella will thrive at McGill," Anderson said, his eyes flicking towards Naomi.

Naomi's response was automatic, her voice distant. "Yes, thank you... I hope so."

Anderson's gaze lingered, sensing the depth of Naomi's distraction. He wondered what tumultuous emotions lay beneath her composed exterior.

All he could ever wish for was for her to be happy.

As they got to her house, Anderson opened the door for Naomi. "Please, after you."

Naomi's gratitude was palpable. "Thank you, Anderson." As he watched her go into her house all he could do was to pray Naomi sees past his insecurities and see him for the scumbag he is. He thought to himself as he drove off.

As the plane soared into the sky, Bella's anxiety spiked. She fidgeted with her seatbelt, her mind racing with thoughts of the unknown. What if she struggled in classes? What if she didn't make friends? Becky, sensing her friend's unease, reached out and grasped Bella's hands.

"Hey, relax, we're almost there," Becky said softly, her voice a calming balm. "There is no way in hell, you are gonna be falling off this plane just like that."

Bella's tension eased slightly, her gaze meeting Becky's reassuring smile. She took a deep breath, letting Becky's warmth seep into her.

Upon landing, a stunning, sleek Limousine awaited them. Bella's eyes widened.

"Becky, this is... wow!" she exclaimed, running her hand over the luxurious leather interior.

Becky grinned. "My dad arranged it. He wants us to feel special. "you know how extra he gets "Becky started with a sharp smile of pride on her face.

As they settled into the vehicle, Becky turned to Bella with a heart-pounding posture.

"Instead of renting a hostel, why don't you stay with me instead? It's a big apartment and moreover, I'll be alone anyway. We can explore the city together."

Bella, in shock, hesitated, unsure about invading Becky's space. But Becky's persistence won out.

"We'll have so much fun, Bella! We can study together, try new restaurants... it'll be like a sleepover, but better!"

Their weekend unfolded like a dream. They explored the city, laughing and shopping together. On Saturday evening, while strolling through the campus, they met two vibrant girls, Sophia and Rachel.

"Hey, are you guys new here?" Sophia asked, her eyes sparkling.

Becky chimed in, "We're freshmen! Bella and I just arrived today."

Rachel grinned mischievously. "Perfect timing! We're having a school party tonight. You have to come!"

Bella's reluctance was palpable, but Becky wouldn't take no for an answer.

"Come on, Bella! It'll be fun! You can't stay cooped up in my apartment all night," Becky teased.

Sophia and Rachel cheered, exchanging phone numbers.

"Meet us at the student union at 8 pm," Sophia said.

As they parted ways, Bella angrily turned to Becky.

"Becky, I don't know... I'm not really into parties And you know that."

Becky's grin was unstoppable. "Trust me, Bella. We're gonna be just fine. Let's own this night, I beg of you. Her hands joined together with puppy eyes rolling across bellas face

Bella chuckled, As Becky's enthusiasm was infectious.

"Okay, fine. But if I get too overwhelmed, I'm blaming you."

Becky's eyes sparkled. Deal."

Bella and Becky arrived at the party, the thumping music and vibrant lights enveloping them like a warm embrace. Sophia and Rachel greeted them warmly, their faces aglow with excitement.

"This is insane!" Becky yelled over the music, her eyes scanning the crowded room. "Thanks for inviting us!"

Sophia grinned mischievously. "Our friend Dani hosts the best parties. Her dad's a billionaire, and she spares no expense."

The club was a whirlwind of color and sound – people dancing, laughing, and lost in the rhythm. Becky dove into the fray, twirling and spinning to the beat. Bella opted for a quieter spot, sitting by the bar and nursing a Virgin Cocktail.

As she scanned the room, her gaze swept across the crowd – faces blurred, smiles faded – until it locked onto a pair of deep, captivating green eyes. In that instance,

Time froze.

Those eyes were mesmerizing – sultry, confident, and raw. Bella felt like she was drowning in their depths, her breath catching in her throat.

Bella couldn't tear her gaze away.

Becky noticed her distraction, followed her gaze, and shouted over the music.

"WOW! She's GORGEOUS!" Becky exclaimed, her voice barely audible above the din.

Bella's cheeks flushed. Embarrassed, she swiftly stood and made a beeline for the restroom.

"Need to get out of here," Bella muttered to herself, her heart racing.

As she splashed water on her face, Bella's mind whirled.

Who was that girl?

And why did Bella feel like she'd been seen to her very soul?

Meanwhile, Becky made her way to the mysterious girl.

"Hey, I'm Becky!" she yelled over the music, her smile radiant.

The girl smiled, her eyes never leaving Bella's retreating figure.

"I'm Dani," she replied, her voice husky and confident.

Becky's eyes sparkled.

"I think you just made my friend's night...Becky chuckled, "and maybe her life."As Becky's voice could be heard across the room.

Dani raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?"

Becky leaned in.

"Bella's not usually speechless. You must be something."

Dani's gaze lingered on Bella's disappearing figure.

"I don't think so."

Dani disagreed as she followed Bella to the restroom.

Her footsteps are silent on the tile floor. The music and laughter from the party faded into the background as she entered the small, elegant space.

"I caught you staring at me," Dani whispered, her voice commanding and gentle, sending shivers down Bella's spine.

Bella's heart skipped a beat. She slowly raised her head, scared as she confronted those piercing green eyes that seemed to see right through her.

Their faces were just inches apart, the air thick with tension. Bella's breath caught in her throat as Dani's gaze held hers.

Dani's perfume lingered, a sweet, intoxicating scent that wrapped around Bella's senses, making her feel lightheaded.

Bella stuttered, trying to step back, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot. "I-I wasn't staring at you."

Her voice trembled, words spilling out in a flustered attempt to explain. "I was just... lost in thought."

Dani's gaze never wavered, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You were staring, I saw you," she said, her voice low and husky. "And I liked it."

Bella's face burned, her eyes pleading for understanding. She felt exposed, and vulnerable.

Just as the tension seemed unbearable, Bella's phone rang, shattering the silence. The sudden sound made her jump.

Relieved, Bella stammered, "I have to go."

She turned to flee, her haste forgetting her bracelet on the counter, a gift from her dad.

Dani's eyes flickered to the discarded bracelet, a glint of interest. She picked it up, examining it carefully.

As Bella disappeared into the crowd, Dani slipped the bracelet into her pocket, a small smile playing on her lips, as she sniffed the bracelet in demure.

"Interesting," Dani murmured to herself. "I guess I'll see you again, little muffin.

 MC-GILL UNIVERSITY

 *First Day at McGill University*

Bella and Becky stepped through the grand entrance of McGill University, awestruck by the sprawling campus. Towering trees shaded immaculate lawns, while sleek, modern buildings stood alongside historic structures.

"Wow," Becky breathed. "This is incredible."

As they walked, Bella's eyes widened at the parade of luxury cars and SUVs dropping off students. Drivers in crisp uniforms opened doors for laughing, chattering teens.

"Welcome to the elite," Bella whispered, feeling so thrilled and excited

Inside their respective classrooms, teachers introduced them to their peers.

Becky's law class was filled with eager faces, including familiar ones – Rachel and Sophia.

"Yes! Familiar faces!" Becky exclaimed, waving at her friends.

Bella, still undecided on her major, opted for Creative Art. She loved drawing but kept it a secret hobby.

Bella rushed to her new class, lost in thought. As she turned a corner, her books and papers slipped from her grasp, scattering across the floor.

"Ah, no!" Bella exclaimed frustration etched on her face.

A figure swooped in, helping her gather her belongings. Bella's gaze met these piercing blue eyes, framed by chiseled features and messy blonde hair.

"Here, please let me help," he said, handing her the scattered papers.

Bella's cheeks flushed as she took in his charming smile. "Thanks...I'm Bella."

"I'm Zackary Ryan, but friends call me Zack," he replied, his voice warm.

Bella's initial gratitude gave way to a hint of reserve. Something about Zack's effortless charm made her wary.

"Thanks, Zack," Bella said, her tone polite but distant.

Just then, Becky burst into her classroom, her eyes scanning the room. Spotting Bella, she hurried over.

"Hey, girl! What's up?" Becky asked, her eyes sparkling.

As Bella introduced Becky to Zack, Becky's gaze lingered on him, a suspicious grin spreading across her face.

"Nice to meet you, Zack," Becky said, her tone laced with amusement.

Zack smiled, oblivious to Becky's undertones. "Likewise, Becky." He said politely, as he walked away.

As the bell rang, signaling the start of class, Bella gathered her belongings.

"See you later," Becky whispered, tugging Bella's arm. As she quickly left for her class.

Only to Bella's surprise who sat behind her..

"Looks like we're classmates," a familiar voice spook from behind, as Bella turned to the direction the voice came from.

To her greatest surprise, it's Dani the captivating girl from the party.

"Oh my God".She can't believe it. Her face flushed so hard.

Dani knowing how surprised Bella was swiftly averted her gaze with a mischievous smirk across her face.

The classroom buzzed with chatter, students greeting each other and settling into their seats.

Suddenly, the teacher swept in, commanding attention.

"Good morning, class. Settle down, please," Professor Eva instructed firmly but warmly.

The room fell silent, students facing the front.

"Welcome to Creative Art. I'm Professor Eva Wong" she introduced herself, writing her name on the board.

Professor Eva's warm smile put the students at ease, her enthusiasm infectious.

"Let's dive into today's lesson. Please take out your notebooks and sketchpads," she instructed.

Bella rummaged through her bag, her fingers brushing against Dani's.

"Sorry," Dani whispered, exchanging a sparkling glance.

Professor Eva distributed handouts detailing the exercise.

"Complete the perspective drawing exercise. Show me your understanding of spatial relationships and proportions."

Pencils scratched paper as students worked, creative energy filling the room.

Bella's imagination flowed onto the page, lines and shapes blending.

When finished, she reviewed her work, confident in her execution.

Professor Eva collected the papers, scanned all the submissions.

A smile spread across her face.

"Bella, your perspective drawing is impressive. You've demonstrated excellent spatial awareness."

The class turned to Bella, admiring glances.

Victoria, sitting nearby, scowled.

Her blonde ponytail swung as she stood, eyes flashing.

"Your work's crap," Victoria whispered venomously.

Bella's eyes narrowed.

"I don't think Professor Ava agrees," Bella replied calmly, her confidence unwavering.

Victoria's face reddened.

"You just got lucky," Victoria snapped.

Dani intervened, her voice low and steady.

"Hey, Victoria, back off. No need for that."

Victoria glared before storming back to her seat.

Professor Ava's voice interrupted the tension.

"Class, let's discuss shading techniques. Bella, would you mind sharing your approach?"

Bella explained her process, articulating her creative decisions.

The lesson continued, Bella's focus unwavering.

But Victoria's animosity lingered a subtle undercurrent.

As class ended, Bella let out a relieved sigh. Her expression was tinged with frustration. She gathered her belongings and began to pack up her things. Just as she was about to zip up her backpack, she heard a familiar husky voice behind her.

"Victoria's just so annoying." Dani's expression softened. As she turned to her, "Don't listen to anything she says muffin. She's just jealous. You're talented, and she can't handle it." Dani's voice was calm and reassuring, as she parted her shoulders and left. Bella felt her tension ease. It was nice to know someone got her back

Bella smiled.

After school, Bella and Becky reunited outside.

"How was your day?" Becky asked.

Bella grinned. "Interesting. I'm in class with that girl from the party, Dani...And most of the students there are fun except for Victoria." "That girl is something" Bella exclaimed as the expression on her face was so exhausting.

Becky's eyes widened. "No way! Wait, did you say Dani, Dani from the party.... Dani"?

"Aaannn... Dani from the party Bella Replied with a smile on her face.

"So what about Mr... cham?" Becky asked, pointing in Zack's direction.

Bella shrugged. "Just met him". She muttered.

As they walked to the student union, Bella couldn't shake off the feeling that this year would be life-changing for her.

 *Bella in search for work.

Bella craved refuge from the bustling campus, seeking a quiet spot to enjoy her lunch. She settled on a secluded bench, unwrapping her sandwich as she gazed out at the serene surroundings.

Just as she took a bite, a sudden movement caught her off guard. She was startled, her eyes snapping towards the intruder. That's when she saw him – Zack, the charming and effortlessly handsome lacrosse player who seemed to have every girl at school swooning. His shirt was partially unbuttoned, revealing a fitted singlet beneath. His effortless charm and chiseled features made her pay attention.

Zack flashed his famous smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hey, sorry about that. I didn't mean to scare you."

Bella's cheeks flushed as she smiled back. "It's okay. I was just..... having lunch."

Zack sat down beside her, his proximity making her heart beat fast. "So, how did you find out about my secret spot?" he asked, his voice teasing.

Bella laughed. "I guess I just stumbled upon it. I needed a quiet place to eat."

Zack grinned. "Well, I'm glad you did. I was starting to think I was the only one who knew about this place."

Bella smiled, feeling at ease with Zack's warm demeanor. "So, what brings you out here? Skipping class?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Zack chuckled. "Maybe, Ok yeah I skipped my business class."

Bella's eyes widened. "You skipped class?"

Zack shrugged, his grin sheepish. "Yeah I know,... I just do it cause my father wants me to".

Bella's expression softened. "I see you wanna be the good son".

Zack nodded, his eyes sincere. "You can say that. It's just sometimes I feel like I owe him that much. you know?"

Bella smiled, feeling a connection to Zack's words. "I think we all feel that way sometimes."

"So, how's the environment been for you since you came here?" Zack asked, trying to get to know her better.

Bella shrugged, her expression neutral. "It's okay, I guess. I mean, it's been an adjustment, but I'm managing."

Zack's eyes narrowed, sensing there was more to the story. "Just managing? What's been the toughest part of it?"

Bella's expression turned slightly frustrated. "It's just hard to get a job around here," she said, shaking her head. "The people here are so tough to talk to. They seem so put together, you know? It's intimidating."

Zack's charming smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of understanding. "Yeah, I can imagine that," he said, his voice gentle. "But don't worry, Bella. I'm sure you'll find a job that's a great fit for you. And if you ever need any help or assistance, I'm here for you.'

As he watched her eat her lunch. Zack glanced at his watch. "I've got to run, but it was great talking to you, Bella."

Bella smiled, feeling a pang of disappointment that their conversation had to end. "Yeah, same here."

Zack grinned, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Hey, you should come watch our lacrosse match this Thursday! We're playing against our biggest rival."

Bella's eyes widened. "That sounds exciting! I've never been to a lacrosse match before."

Zack's face lit up. "Perfect! I'll make sure to get you a ticket. You can sit with my friends."

Bella smiled, feeling a thrill of excitement. "That sounds like fun. Thanks for inviting me, Zack."

Zack winked. "No problem, Bells. See you then.

 GOT A GODDAMN JOB:

Bella trudge wearily into her apartment, dropping her backpack onto the floor with a sigh. She had just endured a grueling week of juggling classes and assignments, trying to get used to the environment and people. Coupled with Victoria's bullshit and the constant pressure was starting to take its toll.

But it wasn't just the academic demands that were wearing her down. She had spent countless hours scouring the internet for job openings, but every lead seemed to end in disappointment. The constant rejection was starting to chip away at her confidence, leaving her feeling defeated and demoralized.

Bella collapsed onto the couch, letting out a deep sigh as she closed her eyes. She was so tired, both physically and mentally. All she wanted to do was sleep for a week.

Just as she was starting to drift off, her phone suddenly rang, shrill and insistent. Bella groggily opened her eyes, hesitating for a moment before picking up the phone.

"Hello?" she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.

"Bella, this is Tiana from the Reginald Ryan designer collection," a bright, cheerful voice said on the other end of the line. "We received your application a few weeks ago, and we're pleased to inform you that you've been selected for an interview."

Bella's eyes snapped open, her heart suddenly racing with excitement. "Really?" she squeaked, trying to sound calm.

Tiana laughed. "Yes! We'll be in touch soon to schedule a time for you to come in. Congratulations, Bella!"

Bella's face split into a wide, disbelieving grin as she hung up the phone. She couldn't believe it – as she ran straight right into Becky's room.

"Becky, guess what?" she exclaimed, barely containing her excitement.

Becky looked up from her book, a curious expression on her face. "What is it, I just had you scream I was about to come downstairs?" she asked, setting her book aside.

Bella took a deep breath, savoring the moment. "I just got a call from the Reginald Rayne Enterprise," she announced, her voice trembling with excitement. "They want me to come in for an interview!"

Becky's face lit up with a bright smile. "Oh my god..... Ryan Enterprise. You mean Zack's father's company...oh my God, Bella! That's amazing!" she squealed, leaping off the bed to envelop Bella in a tight hug.

Bella laughed, feeling a rush of happiness. "I know right? I'm so excited!" she exclaimed, hugging Becky back.

Becky pulled back, her eyes shining with tears. "I'm so happy for you, Bella. You deserve this. You've been working so hard."

The two friends hugged again, basking in the joy of Bella's good news.

Bella's first week at Ryan Collections flew by in a whirlwind of design software tutorials, meetings with clients, and brainstorming sessions with her new colleagues. She thrived in the creative environment, but balancing work and school proved challenging.

Each morning, Bella rushed to finish her homework before dashing to the office, where she spent hours refining her design skills under the guidance of her supervisor, Emily. After work, she sprinted back to campus for evening classes or club meetings.

Becky, her loyal friend, became her lifeline, helping with notes and study sessions.

"How is your new job?" Becky asked during a study break.

"It's amazing!" Bella exclaimed. "But I'm barely sleeping. Zack's dad expects perfection."

Becky's eyes narrowed. "Zack's still got that charming smile, huh?"

Bella blushed. "We barely see, Beck. He's always busy attending to meetings and all."

Little did Bella know, Zack was always watching her from afar, impressed by her dedication to both work and studies.

One evening, As the day drew to a close, Bella packed up her things, preparing to head home. But just as she was about to leave, Zack appeared at her side, a charming smile on his face.

"Hey, Bells, let me give you a ride home?" he asked, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

Bella hesitated, feeling a flutter in her chest. She had been trying to maintain a professional boundary between them, but Zack's persistence was starting to wear her down.

"No Zack, it's fine. I can manage."

"I insist. Please." Zack said.

"I don't know, Zack," she said, trying to sound firm. "I don't want to impose."

But Zack just chuckled, his smile growing wider. "You're not imposing, Bella. It's just a ride."

Just as Bella was about to weaken, a sleek black sports car pulled up in front of them, its engine purring smoothly. The car was a stunning piece of machinery, with gleaming black paint and chrome accents that seemed to shine like diamonds in the sunlight.

As they watched, a girl with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes stepped out of the car. She was dressed in a tight black leather jacket and ripped jeans. Her lips curved into a subtle smile as she pushed out of the car and walked toward them, her confident stride commanding attention.

"Hey, Bella! Hey Zack!" Dani said, air-kissing Zack's cheek.

Bella's eyes narrowed, sensing a familiarity between Dani and Zack. But there it was again her intoxicating sweet scent of chocolate.

"Dani, what brings you here? Zack asked.

"I Met my Dad for lunch some hours ago," Dani replied. "I was just about to leave before I saw you guys".

Bella's curiosity piqued. "Why, what's your dad doing here ?"

"Her dad's company collaborates with ours every year on some important sales"

Zack said as he immediately got a call from his dad to come to his office.

"My dad just called Bells. I'm so sorry but...I have to go."

Bella nodded, "No it's fine I will just..." as she was about to complete her sentence. Dani offered to give her a ride.

Bella is hesitant as usual.

"Come on, muffin. Get in the car," Dani said, her voice low and playful, as she opened the passenger door.

Bella's cheeks flushed, but she slid into the seat.

As Dani drove, the awkwardness between them dissipated. Dani's easy banter put Bella at ease.

As Dani drove Bella home, the evening sunlight cast a warm glow, illuminating their faces.

"Hey, muffin, tell me about your hometown," Dani asked, her voice curious, her eyes sparkling.

"It's small, cozy," Bella replied, a nostalgic smile spreading. "I miss the familiarity, the lake, and the Friday night football games."

"I guess you had a lot of friends?" Dani inquired, her interest genuine.

"Well, it's just been me and Becky since childhood. We have always been together. We do everything together, went to the same school together. And now we are here. Still together.

Dani gave a cute smile seeing the genuineness in what she just said.

"So..... is there anyone you are attracted to?" Dani's eyes sparkled with mischief, but serious.

Bella blushed. "Well no! For now, am just getting to know everyone".

" Becky always said I was always being too picky but the truth is, I just don't know what I want yet."

Dani's gaze lingered, as she saw the sad expression on Bella's face.

"So your saying you have never been in any romantic relationship.

Bella nodded yes.

" So you're saying you haven't kissed anyone"?. Dani asked, wanting to know more about the story.

But Bella's silence signified that she hadn't . Dani gave a small little cute smile. That even Bella didn't notice.

Bella is tried to change the topic. "So have you been in any relationship?"

Dani's gaze flicked from the road to Bella's face. A soft smile spread.

"Yes," Dani replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Bella's interest deepened.

"So tell me about it," Bella urged, her voice coaxing.

Dani's expression turned wistful, memories flooding. "I had someone once," she said, her voice low and husky. "Her name was Rava, she used to be my best friend...but I fell in love with her from there we started dating.

Bella's eyes widened in surprise, but Dani just laughed, a bitter, mocking sound. "Yeah, I know. I don't exactly seem like the type to fall in love, do I?"

She took a deep breath, her eyes flashing with anger.

"We were almost inseparable, we shared every secret. But She didn't want people to know she was gay so she wasn't ready to come out to her parents."

She kept our relationship a secret. Whenever we were outside, she'd kiss other boys, and flirt with them. She said it would be a one-time thing but she kept doing it. It became a habit...she kept living a fucken lie."

"But I still stayed. Dani muttered as she tried to navigate the road and Bella's questions.

Bella's eyes widened in understanding, empathy etched.

" So what made you stay?" Bella asked gently.

Dani's sigh filled the car.

"Love. Hope. Thinking she'd change.

"But she never did."

Dani's voice dropped to a whisper.

"We broke up. I couldn't take it."

The vulnerability in Dani's eyes touched Bella's heart.

"So ever since, I don't do relationship bullshits its fucking tiring," Dani confessed.

The silence hung heavy.

Finally, they got to Bella's apartment. Dani pulled the car over, the engine purring softly, and she turned to Bella with a sly smile. "Welcome home," she whispered, her voice calm and confident.

Bella's heart skipped a beat as Dani's grass-green eyes locked onto hers. She felt a flutter in her chest, her skin tingling with anticipation.

Dani leaned in, her fingers brushing against Bella's as she helped her unbutton her seatbelt. The touch sent shivers down Bella's spine, and she felt herself melting into Dani's gaze.

Their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Dani's smile grew wider, and she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, "Do you want to kiss me?"

Bella's eyes widened in shock, but she couldn't deny the spark of attraction between them. "No," she said, trying to sound firm, but her voice trembled with desire.

Dani just laughed, a low, throaty sound. She reached out, her hand closing around Bella's wrist as she drew bella close, and pressed her lips to hers

The kiss was like a spark of electricity, sending shivers down Bella's spine. She felt herself melting into Dani's embrace, their lips moving in perfect sync.

As they kissed, the world around them melted away. Bella never imagined her first kiss to be like this – it was more than she had imagined.

Finally, Dani pulled away, a sly smile still plastered on her face. "Goodnight, muffin," she said, her voice calm..

Bella's heart, still beating so fast from the kiss. "Goodnight, Dani," she replied, with a bated breath.

As Bella stepped out of the car, she felt like she was walking on air. She floated into the house, a dreamy smile still on her face. She couldn't believe what just happened.

But as she entered the house, Becky stopped her at the door. "Hey bells, I saw a nice sports car parked in front of the house," Becky said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Who was that?"

Bella's smile faltered for a moment. "It was Dani," she said, trying to sound casual. "She just gave me a ride home."

Becky's eyes narrowed. "Wow Dani?. Becky turned to Bella, eyes sparkling wanting to hear every bit of it. "Spill!"

Bella hesitated, then shared everything – the ride, the kiss, the intensity.

Becky's eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, she just stared at Bella. Then, a huge grin spread across her face. "That's amazing!" Becky exclaimed.

But Bella was so tired. And she headed straight to her room. Eager to escape Becky's questions.

That night, Bella couldn't shake off thoughts of Dani As she kept dangling on the bed

Her heart raced while replaying their kiss.

"But I can't possibly have feelings for Dani". Can i?. Bella whispered to herself.

She tossed and turned, uncertainty swirling.

The next morning, Bella texted Dani:

"Hey Dani, about last night...

"Can we not put much meaning to it please."

Dani's response came instantly:

"Okay, if that's what you want"

Bella's heart fluttered. As she expected more interest from Dani.
