Chapter 13 - Escape

Heaven's POV

It was a day before my wedding, and my life was already making no sense.

Mrs. Higgins was in my room, making arrangements for the wedding. She was walking back and forth, ordering servants and making sure things were in order.

I was no longer in the servant quarters. They moved me to the east wing where the Alpha is, and my room wasn't even far from their chambers. It was just three rooms away.

These past few days, people were still gossiping about me. Everywhere I went, I received stares and they all pointed at me, so I preferred to just stay in my room.

"The dress came this morning," Mrs. Higgins said softly, as she picked up the white gown on the bed.

It was a really beautiful dress. Anyone else would have been happy to wear such a gown, but not me. I felt sick just looking at it. It felt like I was being exchanged for my freedom.

"Come, dear, let's try it on," Mrs. Higgins said with a smile.

I stood up from the chair I was on and walked towards her. I climbed onto the platform without uttering a word.

Mrs. Higgins wore the dress on me. dress on me and she stitched the sides of the dress to make sure it fits.

"The lace needs to be tighter," she said as she adjusted the fabric sample on my wrist. The gown looked way larger than normal.

Mrs. Higgins moved back a bit and frowned, then she walked back to me and checked the label at the side of the neckline and sighed in frustration.

" They sent the wrong dress entirely," she said, shaking her head.

I didn't react, it didn't matter at all whether the gown was fit or not. All that I could think of was tomorrow. I would be marrying the four men who made my life a living hell.

" I will have to take it back to the seamstress immediately,"she said, unpinning the sides of the dress.

She helped me down from the platform and carefully removed the gown.

"I'll be back before sunset. Will you be all right on your own?" she asked.

I smiled lightly and nodded. She squeezed my hand before leaving and closed the door behind her.

I walked towards the window, thinking about how my life would turn out after tomorrow. Maybe I was just thinking of the worst. Maybe it wouldn't be all that bad. The quadruplets might care for me after the wedding. Maybe I was just overreacting.

Suddenly, the door burst open. I turned around to find Sofia standing at the entrance, smiling.

"Hello, heaven," she said as she closed the door and locked it with a key.

I stepped back, my hand began to shake. She started to walk towards me slowly.

I didn't want to have anything to do with her.

After the ascension ceremony, she ordered all of the servants not to serve me out of spite, but it didn't matter. I wasn't used to anyone serving me for the past six years and thank the moon goddess that she hadn't come face to face with me until today.

" I thought it would be nice if we had a little chat before your big day," she said sweetly.

If anyone heard her right now, they would think that she had always been this kind towards me. They wouldn't know that she is actually the female devil.

I shook my head as I moved towards the door, but she blocked my way.

"Don't be rude. I came to congratulate you," she said. "I mean, you're marrying Four Alphas. Wow, Heaven, four big bad wolves. That's an accomplishment for a mute nobody like you."

I clenched the side of my dress, trying to move away from her, but she grabbed my arm immediately and her nail dug into my skin.

"Let me tell you a secret," Sofia whispered into my ears. "The quadruplet came to see me last night, and do you know what they told me?"

I didn't want to know. I tried to pull away from her, but she tightened her hand on my arm.

"They told me they don't love you, and that it's me they love, HaHa" She laughed.

"They are only marrying you because of their titles. Once the coronation is over, they would throw you away like the trash that you are."

I felt my heart shatter into pieces. I knew that they didn't want me but hearing Sophia say it so loud made it even more real.

"Oh, that's not all," Sophia continued, as she moved away from my ears to look at my face.

When she noticed the tears in them, her smile grew wider.

"They will never touch you. They will continue to come to me every night while you sleep alone. You'll be married to them, but you'll never truly have them," she said.

Tch!

I scoffed and turned looked away from her. She was telling me bluntly that she was proud of being a whore?

"Did you just fucking scoff?" Sophia asked, annoyed.

"So you've grown wings because you're mated to them? Now you think you're all that?"

Sofia yelled with her eyes wide open then she took some deep breaths trying to calm herself.

"Just know that you always been the mistress, and I've always been a main woman."

She released my arm and patted my cheeks mockingly. " I'm just telling you the truth, because you deserve to know what kind of marriage you're walking into."

"See you at the wedding, Heaven," she said turning toward the door. "Try not to trip on your way down the aisle. It would be such a shame to embarrass them on their coronation day."

She unlocked the door and left, laughing.

I couldn't even move, my body was shaking uncontrollably. I can't go on with this marriage. I had to leave this place. I can't spend the rest of my life being trapped and humiliated by my own mates.

I didn't have a plan. I didn't have any money or anywhere to go, but I just knew that I had to leave this hell.

I quickly took my old servant's dress from the wardrobe and put it on as a disguise, then wore my boots and headed towards the hallway.

I tiptoed through the east wing as quiet as I could to avoid the Alphas attention, then moved to the back of the kitchen that led to the garden.

When I got to the garden, I began to panic. Maybe escaping was an insanely bad idea but I pushed the feeling away. I needed to escape.

The garden wall was really high, about 10 feet tall, but I knew I could do it. I would use the thick vines on the wall to climb up, so when I reached the top, I could drop down on the other side and run as far as I could.

It was a good plan.

I grabbed on the vines and began to climb, I held onto it tightly and even scraped my arm, but I didn't stop. I was almost there. I was almost free to live my life as I wished.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?"

I heard a voice from below and I froze.
