Chapter 242: Kara
If the Uchiha couldn't hold back and decided to stir up trouble, would that accelerate the Akatsuki Organization's plan?
Kenichi hadn't seriously considered that before. But judging from Konoha's current situation, it was obvious this mess wouldn't be solved overnight. It would take time.
In the original story, it was never clearly stated why the Akatsuki only began carrying out their plan after Naruto had grown up and become stronger. From Kenichi's perspective, the simplest explanation was that the organization still hadn't gathered enough information, or recruited enough manpower.
And now, with Hidan and Itachi not joining, the timing of Akatsuki's plan became even more uncertain.
"Come to think of it… I've changed so many things without even realizing it." Kenichi shook his head.
Still, he couldn't be bothered to worry about Konoha's internal affairs. With the Third Hokage and Danzo around, he estimated nothing truly catastrophic would happen.
His attention shifted to Amado, who was still talking with his daughter.
It was obvious that after being separated for so long, the two of them had endless things to say. But if Kenichi let them continue, there was no telling when they would finally stop.
So Kenichi walked over. The moment he approached, Amado understood what he wanted.
"I'll cooperate with you," Amado said bluntly, "but I also want some of your research data on that technique."
Kenichi wasn't surprised.
During his conversation with Akebi, Amado had confirmed something critical. The girl in front of him was truly his daughter, not one of those fake clones. Her personality, her memories, even her little habits, everything matched perfectly.
So Amado had already made his decision to cooperate with Kenichi.
Not to mention…
This was also a mission from the organization.
"A wise choice," Kenichi said with a shrug. "But you should know there's no such thing as a free lunch."
Sharing Edo Tensei research data wasn't an issue, but it would absolutely require something in return.
"I have a set of cloning data," Amado offered without hesitation. "We can use that as the exchange."
Amado knew Kenichi had also been researching cloning. This condition would be attractive.
And it was.
Kenichi admitted he was interested, because this was cloning, and he had already seen some of Amado's results. Amado had a cloned corpse of his daughter.
Its appearance was identical to the daughter Kenichi had brought back with Edo Tensei. According to Amado, the problem with these clones was that they had no prior memories, their personalities were unstable, and their growth rate was shocking. They could grow into adults within three months, but their aging cycle was also extremely short.
After one year, they basically couldn't maintain combat effectiveness.
This was the exact kind of wall Kenichi had been hitting with cloning research.
Hearing that, Kenichi decided he had to get his hands on Amado's data. Amado's research had clearly surpassed both Kenichi's and his teacher's. With that knowledge, Kenichi could attempt other directions as well.
"Anything else?" Kenichi still chose to haggle.
Amado was clearly very interested in Edo Tensei. If Kenichi pushed a bit, he might be able to squeeze out more, such as the design concept and structural diagrams for the ninjutsu reflection device.
"The ninjutsu reflection device," Amado said calmly. "But you only get it after my daughter is fully revived."
Amado knew exactly what bait he held.
Kenichi didn't argue. That was enough for an exchange. Anything else could be extracted slowly later. He wasn't in a hurry.
He was only curious what his teacher would think, but Kenichi felt that as long as his teacher saw Amado's results, he wouldn't object.
Still, to avoid any small issue damaging their master and disciple relationship, Kenichi decided to bring Amado to meet his teacher. And he also needed to find Koyuki.
As for Kakashi, he chose not to travel with Kenichi.
Kenichi didn't force him. He knew Kakashi's personality. Once he decided to leave, he would not stay.
So Kenichi could only say goodbye.
"I hope the next time we meet, we won't be enemies," Kakashi said, smiling helplessly at his old friend.
Kakashi had briefly considered whether he should bring Kenichi back.
But he quickly realized he probably couldn't. He didn't seem to be a match for his friend anymore, so he abandoned that idea.
Instead, he planned to return with intelligence about the Land of Snow.
As for Kenichi and Orochimaru, Kakashi would pretend he didn't know. Otherwise, he would have to explain too much, and that would be troublesome. And since Konoha had no spies in the Land of Snow, Kakashi didn't have to worry about his choice being exposed.
Kenichi watched Kakashi go, then turned and started walking with Amado.
Amado's eyes were hard to read.
He had previously joined a mysterious organization called Kara. Inside Kara, he had received new missions.
Infiltrate different countries and different hidden villages, obtain their latest scientific research results, and bring the data back to the organization. Amado was one of the people assigned to do exactly that.
This time, he had been ordered to enter the Land of Snow and help its scientists complete the research and synthesis of chakra absorbing metal.
His next objective was to seek out other high tech talent.
And at the top of that list were the former Konoha Sannin, now traitors, Orochimaru, and Orochimaru's disciple, Kenichi.
So after learning Kenichi's identity, Amado decided to find a way to join him, then obtain the latest research results from Kenichi and his teacher.
What Amado hadn't expected was this.
Compared to Kara, which was still stuck at the stage of "we can help you revive your daughter after you complete the goal," Kenichi had produced a solution far earlier.
The moment Amado saw Akebi again, he nearly broke down.
After losing his daughter for so long, it was the first time he could speak with her in peace and watch her smile.
So if Kenichi could offer him a dream that was actually within reach, then Kara's importance immediately dropped.
"Let's see first," Amado thought, quickening his steps to follow Kenichi. "If they can't fully revive her, then I'll…"
