About Ornazia:
𔓘 Ornazia - once the most feared conqueror of Western Eldervale. Its golden age (–123 to 704) lasted over 800 years, expanding across the entire west and deep into the central lands. Legendary campaigns like After the Flags, A Wider Map, and New Ground defined its dominance.
𔓘 The empire's momentum shattered in 704 during the People's Surge Era, after the fall of SCUS. From then on, Ornazia turned inward - trading conquest for defense.
𔓘 In 1219, the unthinkable happened: Ornazia was defeated by Bellatorum and merged with a foreign power for the first time in history.
𔓘 Its borders are guarded by the Calemnis Line - a massive, highly advanced defensive wall stretching across the entire nation. One of Eldervale's boldest engineering feats.
𔓘 Citizens can legally own weapons under strict licensing and constant oversight - combat readiness is part of daily life.
𔓘 The land itself is strange: Ornazian soil is unusually dense, sometimes hard as stone.
𔓘 Due to its violent past, Ornazia never truly formed lasting alliances - trust was always scarce.
𔓘 Beneath the nation lies the Marrow Pit - vast catacombs lined with the skulls of defeated enemies. A chilling reminder of its history.
𔓘 Even sport reflects its culture: gun duels and combat simulations are the national pastime - using safe rounds, but very real skill.
Brief modern history:
I. ANNEXATION AND THE GREY FALL MOVEMENT (1219–1255)
Ornazia was forcibly merged with Bellatorum in 1219 following defeat at the Battle of Viriolium under the One People Treaty. For more than thirty years, independence movements failed due to Bellatorum's suppression. By 1255, Bellatorum had become weak and corrupt.
The Prexa ad Nacion Renovatio Partis (PNRP), led by Aigonzis Panzorium, emerged as the largest independence group. On 3 September 1255, a large gathering outside the Bellatorum administrative building in Viriolium turned violent when security forces opened fire - the Grey Fall Movement. The Front for National Renewal broadcast speeches across Ornazia. Within three days, rebels captured their old capital. Bellatorum lost most occupied territories within a month. Ornazia declared independence.
Bellatorum declared war. The conflict lasted over half a year. Ornazia won. Bellatorum signed a peace treaty in 1256, recognizing Ornazian sovereignty. Aigonzis Panzorium was inaugurated as first leader.
II. BORDER RAIDS AND THE BREAK WITH BELLATORUM (1256–1265)
Bellatorum launched border raids between 1256 and 1263 until resource shortages forced them to stop. This entrenched a lasting rivalry.
In 1265, Ornazia attempted peaceful relations. Panzorium traveled to Bellatorum but returned deeply troubled, declaring Ornazia would never again seek peace with those "mucky Bellatorumians." He refused to speak of what happened. Rumors said Bellatorum's leader had openly insulted Ornazian culture.
III. THE LAST SIGNAL AND THE CRESCENT LINE WAR (1270–1273)
Between 1262 and 1269, Ornazia recorded numerous border incursions by Alcludion and Hleidisland, mostly repelled.
On 16 December 1270, a bomb was planted beneath Panzorium's car. He survived but was severely injured; two others died. The perpetrator was captured with a ticket to Bellatorum. Ornazia declared war on Bellatorum on 23 December - the Crescent Line War, beginning the First Great War of Eldervale.
Bellatorum and Alcludion allied against Ornazia. Two months later, Hleidisland joined on Bellatorum's side. The war became a two-front conflict.
Initial phase: Stalemate. Notable northern engagements: Battle of Seraphion (Ornazia), Battle of Elenoth (Ornazia), Battle of Poltovio (Alcludion), Third Siege of Magna Petronia (Bellatorum). Southern engagements: Defense of Lirathael (Ornazia), Defense of Solgaris (Ornazia). Most inconclusive.
Alcludion descended into civil war - prolonged stagnation, resource depletion, social unrest - forcing its withdrawal. Ornazia redirected efforts.
Second phase: Ornazia made limited progress. Hleidisland reinforced border defenses. Bellatorum's rugged terrain prevented deep penetration. Most infamous engagements: Battle of Pont Avalon (Bellatorum) and "Eighty Days at Draumfell" (Hleidisland) - both sides unveiled newest advanced weaponry.
Third year: All sides exhausted. Ornazia proposed peace. Treaty of Caer Dûnath signed 16 July 1273 in neutral Alcludion. Pre-war borders restored. Provisions sparked intense disputes - many regarded terms as unjust, others as necessary to compel Bellatorum to cease hostilities.
IV. POST-WAR CRISIS AND THE DEATH OF PANZORIUM (1273–1275)
Ornazia emerged with no territorial loss but faced civil unrest: poverty, inflation, supply chain collapse, cities in ruins, refugee crisis. Aigonzis Panzorium died from complications of acute kidney injury aggravated by the blast years earlier. A state funeral lasted three days. Public unrest resumed immediately.
New leader Aigonz Phazuriz established a temporary emergency administration, declared limited state of emergency, delivered nationwide broadcast acknowledging grievances, launched refugee relief programs, sought aid from Southern and Eastern allies, imposed strict monetary policies and temporary price controls, prioritized reconstruction of transportation and logistics, provided subsidies and low-interest loans, opened dialogue with labor groups and veterans, launched public works programs, introduced food and housing subsidies, shifted from war industries to civilian production. After two years, Ornazia showed clear signs of recovery. The nation never again attempted diplomacy toward former enemies.
V. THE STATUE OF ORNAZIANDIS AND THE ORNAZIA–LESMONT–ACLUDION ALLIANCE (1277–1278)
In 1277, the Statue of Ornaziandis was completed at the capital's center, honoring the state's foundation and myths. In 1278, the Ornazia–Lesmont–Alcludion Alliance Treaty was signed as a response to the Treaty of Shared Resolve - despite ancient rivalry between Ornazia and Alcludion, they agreed to cooperate for the "greater good." Mutual trust remained minimal.
VI. THE SECOND GREAT WAR OF ELDERVALE - ORNAZIA THEATRE (1291–1294)
By 1285, Ornazia initiated a comprehensive military program after intelligence reports of an imminent Hleidisland attack.
With escalation of the Second Great War in 1291, a border dispute between Alcludion and Tavrikon led to open conflict. Ornazia entered the war on Alcludion's side per treaty obligations. A month later, Ornazia was attacked by Hleidisland from the south and Bellatorum from the north. Significant southern territories fell. Three major fronts forced Ornazia to divide its army into defensive posture.
Notable defensive operations: Battle of Liocam (Ornazia), Defense to the Death at Domus Luminaria (Ornazia), Battle of the Luminis Runeth River (Ornazia). Ornazia was compelled to withdraw three-quarters of its forces from the Alcludion front.
First year: Phazuriz's government showed hesitation and inefficiency. Phazuriz's stubbornness led to rejection of several decisive counteroffensives.
Second year (1292): Operation "Ater Latorium" (18 May) - massive strategic bombings and sabotage targeting Hleidisland and Bellatorum facilities (civilian shelters, logistics, military camps, armament factories). Partial success: severe damage to Bellatorum, moderate losses to Hleidisland due to anti-air defenses. Two counteroffensives (25 and 30 July) regained territory but suffered heavy casualties due to poor planning. Ornazia reverted to defensive strategy.
Third year (1293): Famine struck. Food and water supplies critically damaged due to government mismanagement. Rations reduced to less than half. Military morale deteriorated. Leadership grew irrational and reckless. Ornazia continued defensive efforts.
1294: Southern front stabilized. North remained under constant Bellatorum pressure. Soldiers openly questioned government leadership. Civil unrest, protests, riots spread - the 'Distress Period'.
5 July 1294: Ornazia signed the Pax of Seraphic.
VII. THE LUCENTIS SQUARE MASSACRE AND THE OIAN COUP (1294)
Peace did not bring stability. Unrest intensified. Phazuriz attempted dialogue but failed. The populace demanded his resignation and dissolution of the government. The regime resorted to violent suppression - mass arrests, lethal force.
The Ordo Illuminatum Aigonzis Novarum (OIAN), led by Renoviel Aigonzar Zeraphion, rose to prominence during wartime, gaining support through promises of reform, anti-government rhetoric, and covert alliances with disillusioned officials.
On 28 August - hours before sunset - the largest public gathering in Ornazian history took place in Lucentis Square. Demonstrators had occupied the square since 25 August. The crowd grew until the entire square was filled. Protesters hurled objects at guards. Physical confrontations occurred. Phazuriz's government ordered guards to open fire. Armored suppression vehicles advanced through the crowd, crushing those in their path.
The "Lucentis Square Massacre" left hundreds - perhaps thousands - dead. Bodies were cleared within two days; rumors spread that the government transported them to an undisclosed location. The event ignited even greater public outrage. Large demonstrations erupted across multiple cities. Numerous government officials defected to OIAN.
On the night of 6 September, a coup d'état launched by forces loyal to Zeraphion stormed the Praetorium Aedes, capturing all remaining members of Phazuriz's administration. Phazuriz was found hiding in the basement, having attempted suicide by poison.
The next morning, a new government was proclaimed. The PNRP was abolished. OIAN assumed control. A national funeral was announced for all who lost their lives opposing the old regime, especially those in the Lucentis Square Massacre - honored as national heroes. 28 August became a ceremony day.
Phazuriz was imprisoned. After two months, the new government ordered execution by firing squad. The execution was broadcast live across every major media outlet. Phazuriz was denounced as a corrupt disgrace. The execution lasted four minutes with a conclusion: "Glory for Ornazia."
VIII. THE CALEMNIS LINE AND PROJECT CALIOR (1310 onward)
The new government implemented short-term programs addressing supply shortages, financial strain, and reconstruction. After nearly three years, most hardships were resolved. Under the Pax, Ornazia reopened borders to trade with the South and Far East. Diplomatic attempts toward Bellatorum and Hleidisland resulted in official agreements, but mutual trust remained minimal.
In 1310, amid fears of external threats, the government initiated Project Calior - constructing a defensive fortification system along the entire national border. The Calemnis Line became a vast defensive barrier with constant improvement for decades. Features: sophisticated underground network, multiple bunker layers, fully automated maintenance systems (water purification, environmental regulation), integrated transportation infrastructure (highways, rail, high-speed mag-lev) enabling rapid deployment. A permanent underground population of engineers, medical staff, logistics specialists, and soldiers resided in subterranean facilities for months at a time.
Construction spurred technological breakthroughs: materials science, underground fusion reactors, geothermal power grids, compact micro-reactor systems. The Calemnis Line became known as one of the strongest defensive lines in the world.
IX. THE WEEKS OF TERROR (1327)
Between 4 May and 18 May 1327, a series of terrorist attacks struck several major cities - most severely the capital. Attacks included bombings, mass shootings in crowded public areas, live-broadcast gore incidents, and vandalism against government facilities. Perpetrators belonged to a Neo-PNRP faction seeking to restore the old regime. Key figures and majority of members were immediately arrested and executed as traitors - ending the last remnants of loyalty to the former regime.
X. THE SUCCESSION OF LUCIEN MOURNE AND THE PRELUDE TO THE THIRD GREAT WAR (1350 onward)
On 5 August 1350, Renoviel Aigonzar Zeraphion was declared deceased after years of battling liver cancer. A national funeral was held. Lucien Adrasto Devereu Mourne - known simply as Lucien Mourne - was elected as the new head of state. He posthumously recognized Zeraphion as a national hero.
Under Mourne, Ornazia continued advancing material manufacturing, expanding production of common goods, maintaining robust defensive infrastructure, and further strengthening cultural traditions and folk beliefs, continuing up until the outbreak of the Third Great War.
Idealology: Crimson Absolutism
Crimson Absolutism is a political ideology that redefines violence not as a failure of diplomacy or a breakdown of order, but as the purest form of dialogue - the only interaction where two parties cannot lie to one another. Rooted in the belief that all life consumes other life to survive, society is organized not by wealth, birth, or intelligence, but by proven capacity for violence and the scars borne in its execution. Beauty itself is defined as the moment of impact: the split second when flesh yields, when armor fractures, when the old form is destroyed to make way for the new. Prolonged peace is considered societal cancer, breeding complacency, weakness, and the slow death of the spirit, while violence is elevated to a form of worship - the act of striking another being is an acknowledgment of their reality, for one cannot truly strike a phantom. Crimson Absolutism despises nations that wage war while pretending to wage peace, and it values enemies more than allies; the state never declares war over resources or land, but over ideological insults. Every citizen is born as raw ore, and life is the process of being heated, hammered, and quenched until one becomes a finished blade - to face violence, endure it, and wield it with precision is to become art. Injury is not viewed as tragedy but as sacred instruction, with the healing process treated as active meditation. And if the state ever faces an enemy it cannot defeat, with total annihilation certain, the final generation is instructed not to surrender, but to charge into the fire with such ferocity that their extinction becomes a legend that scars the enemy's psyche for a thousand years.
